And it came to pass afterwards, that he travelled through the cities and towns, preaching and evangelizing the kingdom of God; and the twelve with him:Sau đó, Đức Giê-su rảo qua các thành phố, làng mạc, rao giảng và loan báo Tin Mừng Nước Thiên Chúa. Cùng đi với Người, có Nhóm Mười HaiΚαὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ καθεξῆς καὶ αὐτὸς διώδευεν κατὰ πόλιν καὶ κώμην κηρύσσων καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενος τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ οἱ δώδεκα σὺν αὐτῷ,Et factum est deinceps, et ipse iter faciebat per civitates, et castella prædicans, et evangelizans regnum Dei: et duodecim cum illo,Soon afterwards, he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of God’s Kingdom. With him were the twelve,
And certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities; Mary who is called Magdalen, out of whom seven devils were gone forth,và mấy người phụ nữ đã được Người trừ quỷ và chữa bệnh. Đó là bà Ma-ri-a gọi là Ma-ri-a Mác-đa-la, người đã được giải thoát khỏi bảy quỷ,καὶ γυναῖκές τινες αἳ ἦσαν τεθεραπευμέναι ἀπὸ πνευμάτων πονηρῶν καὶ ἀσθενειῶν, Μαρία ἡ καλουμένη Μαγδαληνή, ἀφ’ ἧς δαιμόνια ἑπτὰ ἐξεληλύθει,et mulieres aliquæ, quæ erant curatæ a spiritibus malignis et infirmatibus: Maria, quæ vocatur Magdalene, de qua septem dæmonia exierant,and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;
And Joanna the wife of Chusa, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who ministered unto him of their substance.bà Gio-an-na, vợ ông Khu-da quản lý của vua Hê-rô-đê, bà Su-san-na và nhiều bà khác nữa. Các bà này đã lấy của cải mình mà giúp đỡ Đức Giê-su và các môn đệ.Mt 13,1-9; Mc 4,1-9καὶ Ἰωάννα γυνὴ Χουζᾶ ἐπιτρόπου Ἡρῴδου καὶ Σουσάννα καὶ ἕτεραι πολλαί, αἵτινες διηκόνουν αὐτοῖς ⸀ἐκ τῶν ὑπαρχόντων αὐταῖς.et Joanna uxor Chusæ procuratoris Herodis, et Susanna, et aliæ multæ, quæ ministrabant ei de facultatibus suis.and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others who served them from their possessions.
And when a very great multitude was gathered together, and hastened out of the cities unto him, he spoke by a similitude. Bấy giờ Người dùng dụ ngôn mà nói rằng:Συνιόντος δὲ ὄχλου πολλοῦ καὶ τῶν κατὰ πόλιν ἐπιπορευομένων πρὸς αὐτὸν εἶπεν διὰ παραβολῆς·Cum autem turba plurima convenirent, et de civitatibus properarent ad eum, dixit per similitudinem:When a great multitude came together and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable:
The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.“Người gieo giống đi ra gieo hạt giống của mình. Trong khi người ấy gieo, thì có hạt rơi xuống vệ đường, người ta giẫm lên và chim trời ăn mất.Ἐξῆλθεν ὁ σπείρων τοῦ σπεῖραι τὸν σπόρον αὐτοῦ. Exiit qui seminat, seminare semen suum. Et dum seminat, aliud cecidit secus viam, et conculcatum est, et volucres cæli comederunt illud.“The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.
And other some fell upon a rock: and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.Hạt khác rơi trên đá, và khi mọc lên, lại héo đi vì thiếu ẩm ướt.καὶ ἕτερον ⸀κατέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν, καὶ φυὲν ἐξηράνθη διὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν ἰκμάδα. Some seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.
And other some fell among thorns, and the thorns growing up with it, choked it.Có hạt rơi vào giữa bụi gai, gai cùng mọc lên, làm nó chết nghẹt.καὶ ἕτερον ἔπεσεν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν ἀκανθῶν, καὶ συμφυεῖσαι αἱ ἄκανθαι ἀπέπνιξαν αὐτό. Some fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.
And other some fell upon good ground; and being sprung up, yielded fruit a hundredfold. Saying these things, he cried out: He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.Có hạt lại rơi nhằm đất tốt, và khi mọc lên, nó sinh hoa kết quả gấp trăm.” Et aliud cecidit in terram bonam: et ortum fecit fructum centuplum. Hæc dicens clamabat: Qui habet aures audiendi, audiat. Some fell into the good ground and grew and produced one hundred times as much fruit.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”
And his disciples asked him what this parable might be.Các môn đệ hỏi Người dụ ngôn ấy có ý nghĩa gì.Ἐπηρώτων δὲ αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ ⸀αὐτοῦ τίς ⸂αὕτη εἴη ἡ παραβολή⸃.Interrogabant autem eum discipuli ejus, quæ esset hæc parabola. Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”
To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see, and hearing may not understand. He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’
Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.“Đây là ý nghĩa dụ ngôn: Hạt giống là lời Thiên Chúa.Ἔστιν δὲ αὕτη ἡ παραβολή· Ὁ σπόρος ἐστὶν ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.
And they by the way side are they that hear; then the devil cometh, and taketh the word out of their heart, lest believing they should be saved. Those along the road are those who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.
Now they upon the rock, are they who when they hear, receive the word with joy: and these have no roots; for they believe for a while, and in time of temptation, they fall away.Còn những kẻ ở trên đá là những kẻ khi nghe thì vui vẻ tiếp nhận Lời, nhưng họ không có rễ. Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root. They believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.
And that which fell among thorns, are they who have heard, and going their way, are choked with the cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and yield no fruit.Hạt rơi vào bụi gai: đó là những kẻ nghe, nhưng dọc đường bị những nỗi lo lắng và vinh hoa phú quý cùng những khoái lạc cuộc đời làm cho chết ngộp và không đạt tới mức trưởng thành.τὸ δὲ εἰς τὰς ἀκάνθας πεσόν, οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἀκούσαντες, καὶ ὑπὸ μεριμνῶν καὶ πλούτου καὶ ἡδονῶν τοῦ βίου πορευόμενοι συμπνίγονται καὶ οὐ τελεσφοροῦσιν. What fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life; and they bring no fruit to maturity.
But that on the good ground, are they who in a good and perfect heart, hearing the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit in patience.Hạt rơi vào đất tốt: đó là những kẻ nghe Lời với tấm lòng cao thượng và quảng đại, rồi nắm giữ và nhờ kiên trì mà sinh hoa kết quả. Those in the good ground, these are those who with an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and produce fruit with perseverance.
Now no man lighting a candle covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it upon a candlestick, that they who come in may see the light.“Chẳng có ai đốt đèn, rồi lấy hũ che đi hoặc đặt dưới gầm giường, nhưng đặt trên đế, để những ai đi vào thì nhìn thấy ánh sáng.Οὐδεὶς δὲ λύχνον ἅψας καλύπτει αὐτὸν σκεύει ἢ ὑποκάτω κλίνης τίθησιν, ἀλλ’ ἐπὶ λυχνίας ⸀τίθησιν, ἵνα οἱ εἰσπορευόμενοι βλέπωσιν τὸ φῶς.Nemo autem lucernam accendens, operit eam vase, aut subtus lectum ponit: sed supra candelabrum ponit, ut intrantes videant lumen.“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
For there is not any thing secret that shall not be made manifest, nor hidden, that shall not be known and come abroad.Vì chẳng có gì bí ẩn mà lại không trở nên hiển hiện, chẳng có gì che giấu mà người ta lại không biết và không bị đưa ra ánh sáng.οὐ γάρ ἐστιν κρυπτὸν ὃ οὐ φανερὸν γενήσεται, οὐδὲ ἀπόκρυφον ὃ οὐ ⸂μὴ γνωσθῇ⸃ καὶ εἰς φανερὸν ἔλθῃ. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light.
Take heed therefore how you hear. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given: and whosoever hath not, that also which he thinketh he hath, shall be taken away from him.Vậy hãy để ý tới cách thức anh em nghe. Videte ergo quomodo audiatis? Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”
And his mother and brethren came unto him; and they could not come at him for the crowd.Mẹ và anh em Đức Giê-su đến gặp Người, mà không làm sao lại gần được, vì dân chúng quá đông.⸀Παρεγένετο δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡ μήτηρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ οὐκ ἠδύναντο συντυχεῖν αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον. His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.
And it was told him: Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.Người ta báo cho Người biết: “Thưa Thầy, có mẹ và anh em Thầy đang đứng ngoài kia, muốn gặp Thầy.”⸂ἀπηγγέλη δὲ⸃ ⸀αὐτῷ· Ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἑστήκασιν ἔξω ἰδεῖν ⸂σε θέλοντες⸃.Et nuntiatum est illi: Mater tua et fratres tui stant foris, volentes te videre. Some people told him, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”
Who answering, said to them: My mother and my brethren are they who hear the word of God, and do it.Người đáp lại: “Mẹ tôi và anh em tôi, chính là những ai nghe lời Thiên Chúa và đem ra thực hành.”Mt 8,23-27; Mc 4,35-41ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Μήτηρ μου καὶ ἀδελφοί μου οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ ἀκούοντες καὶ ⸀ποιοῦντες. But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”
And it came to pass on a certain day that he went into a little ship with his disciples, and he said to them: Let us go over to the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.Một ngày nọ, Đức Giê-su xuống thuyền với các môn đệ. Người nói: “Chúng ta sang bên kia hồ đi!” Now on one of those days, he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.
And when they were sailing, he slept; and there came down a storm of wind upon the lake, and they were filled, and were in danger.Đang khi các ngài đi thuyền, thì Đức Giê-su thiếp ngủ. Một trận cuồng phong ập xuống hồ; các ngài bị ngập nước và lâm nguy.πλεόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ἀφύπνωσεν. Et navigantibus illis, obdormivit, et descendit procella venti in stagnum, et complebantur, et periclitabantur. But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.
And they came and awaked him, saying: Master, we perish. But he arising, rebuked the wind and the rage of the water; and it ceased, and there was a calm.Các môn đệ lại gần đánh thức Người dậy và nói: “Thầy ơi, Thầy! Chúng ta chết mất!” They came to him and awoke him, saying, “Master, Master, we are dying!” He awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; then they ceased, and it was calm.
And he said to them: Where is your faith? Who being afraid, wondered, saying one to another: Who is this, (think you), that he commandeth both the winds and the sea, and they obey him?Người bảo các ông: “Đức tin anh em ở đâu?” Qui timentes, mirati sunt ad invicem, dicentes: Quis putas hic est, quia et ventis, et mari imperat, et obediunt ei?He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Being afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, “Who is this then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”
And they sailed to the country of the Gerasens, which is over against Galilee. Then they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.
And when he was come forth to the land, there met him a certain man who had a devil now a very long time, and he wore no clothes, neither did he abide in a house, but in the sepulchres. When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs.
And when he saw Jesus, he fell down before him; and crying out with a loud voice, he said: What have I to do with thee, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I beseech thee, do not torment me.Thấy Đức Giê-su, anh la lên, sấp mình dưới chân Người, và lớn tiếng nói rằng: “Lạy ông Giê-su, Con Thiên Chúa Tối Cao, chuyện tôi can gì đến ông? Tôi xin ông đừng hành hạ tôi!”ἰδὼν δὲ τὸν ⸀Ἰησοῦν ἀνακράξας προσέπεσεν αὐτῷ καὶ φωνῇ μεγάλῃ εἶπεν· Τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί, Ἰησοῦ υἱὲ τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου; δέομαί σου, μή με βασανίσῃς·Is, ut vidit Jesum, procidit ante illum: et exclamans voce magna, dixit: Quid mihi et tibi est, Jesu Fili Dei Altissimi? obsecro te, ne me torqueas. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”
For he commanded the unclean spirit to go out of the man. For many times it seized him, and he was bound with chains, and kept in fetters; and breaking the bonds, he was driven by the devil into the deserts.Ấy là vì Đức Giê-su đã truyền cho thần ô uế xuất khỏi người ấy. Thật vậy, đã nhiều lần quỷ bắt lấy anh ta, người ta dùng xiềng xích gông cùm mà trói và giữ anh; nhưng anh bứt tung dây trói và bị quỷ đưa vào những nơi hoang vắng.⸀παρήγγελλεν γὰρ τῷ πνεύματι τῷ ἀκαθάρτῳ ἐξελθεῖν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου. Et ruptis vinculis agebatur a dæmonio in deserta. For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.
And Jesus asked him, saying: What is thy name? But he said: Legion; because many devils were entered into him.Đức Giê-su hỏi anh: “Tên anh là gì?” At ille dixit: Legio: quia intraverant dæmonia multa in eum.Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.
And they besought him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.Lũ quỷ nài xin Người đừng truyền cho chúng rút xuống vực thẳm.καὶ ⸀παρεκάλουν αὐτὸν ἵνα μὴ ἐπιτάξῃ αὐτοῖς εἰς τὴν ἄβυσσον ἀπελθεῖν.Et rogabant illum ne imperaret illis ut in abyssum irent. They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.
And there was there a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain; and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.Ở đó có một bầy heo khá đông đang ăn trên núi. Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. Then he allowed them.
The devils therefore went out of the man, and entered into the swine; and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were stifled.Lũ quỷ xuất khỏi người đó, nhập vào bầy heo. The demons came out of the man and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.
Which when they that fed them saw done, they fled away, and told it in the city and in the villages. When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled and told it in the city and in the country.
And they went out to see what was done; and they came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at his feet, clothed, and in his right mind; and they were afraid. People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
And they also that had seen, told them how he had been healed from the legion.Những người chứng kiến đã kể lại cho họ nghe người bị quỷ ám được cứu chữa thế nào.ἀπήγγειλαν δὲ ⸀αὐτοῖς οἱ ἰδόντες πῶς ἐσώθη ὁ δαιμονισθείς. Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.
And all the multitude of the country of the Gerasens besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear. And he, going up into the ship, returned back again.Bấy giờ đông đảo dân chúng vùng Ghê-ra-sa xin Người rời họ, vì họ sợ quá. Ipse autem ascendens navim, reversus est.All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. Then he entered into the boat and returned.
Now the man, out of whom the devils were departed, besought him that he might be with him. But Jesus sent him away, saying:Kẻ đã được trừ quỷ xin được ở với Người. Nhưng Người bảo anh ta về và nói:ἐδεῖτο δὲ αὐτοῦ ὁ ἀνὴρ ἀφ’ οὗ ἐξεληλύθει τὰ δαιμόνια εἶναι σὺν αὐτῷ· ἀπέλυσεν δὲ ⸀αὐτὸν λέγων·Et rogabat illum vir, a quo dæmonia exierant, ut cum eo esset. Dimisit autem eum Jesus, dicens:But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,
Return to thy house, and tell how great things God hath done to thee. At ipse dixit ei: Filia, fides tua salvam te fecit: vade in pace.He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”
