| 2 | How long wilt thou speak these things, and how long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind? | Đến bao giờ anh còn phát ngôn kiểu đó,còn ăn nói ào ào tựa cơn gió mạnh? | Μέχρι τίνος λαλήσεις ταῦτα; πνεῦμα πολυρῆμον τοῦ στόματός σου. | עַד אָ֥ן תְּמַלֶּל אֵ֑לֶּה וְר֥וּחַ כַּ֝בִּיר אִמְרֵי פִֽיךָ | [Usquequo loqueris talia, et spiritus multiplex sermones oris tui? | “How long will you speak these things? Shall the words of your mouth be a mighty wind? |
| 3 | Doth God pervert judgment, or doth the Almighty overthrow that which is just? | Phải chăng Thiên Chúa bẻ quặt công minh?Phải chăng Đấng Toàn Năng uốn cong chính trực? | μὴ ὁ κύριος ἀδικήσει κρίνων; ἢ ὁ τὰ πάντα ποιήσας ταράξει τὸ δίκαιον; | הַ֭אֵל יְעַוֵּ֣ת מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וְאִם שַׁ֝דַּ֗י יְעַוֵּֽת צֶֽדֶק | Numquid Deus supplantat judicium? aut Omnipotens subvertit quod justum est? | Does God pervert justice? Or does the Almighty pervert righteousness? |
| 4 | Although thy children have sinned against him, and he hath left them in the hand of their iniquity: | Con cái anh mà đắc tội với Người,Người bắt chúng phải gánhnhững hậu quả do tội ác chính mình đã phạm. | εἰ οἱ υἱοί σου ἥμαρτον ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ, ἀπέστειλεν ἐν χειρὶ ἀνομίας αὐτῶν. | אִם בָּנֶ֥יךָ חָֽטְאוּ ל֑וֹ וַֽ֝יְשַׁלְּחֵ֗ם בְּיַד פִּשְׁעָֽם | Etiam si filii tui peccaverunt ei, et dimisit eos in manu iniquitatis suæ: | If your children have sinned against him, he has delivered them into the hand of their disobedience. |
| 5 | Yet if thou wilt arise early to God, and wilt beseech the Almighty: | Nếu anh hăm hở kiếm tìm Thiên Chúa,nếu anh cầu khẩn Đấng Toàn Năng, | σὺ δὲ ὄρθριζε πρὸς Κύριον Παντοκράτορα δεόμενος. | אִם אַ֭תָּה תְּשַׁחֵ֣ר אֶל אֵ֑ל וְאֶל שַׁ֝דַּ֗י תִּתְחַנָּֽן | tu tamen si diluculo consurrexeris ad Deum, et Omnipotentem fueris deprecatus; | If you want to seek God diligently, make your supplication to the Almighty. |
| 6 | If thou wilt walk clean and upright, he will presently awake onto thee, and will make the dwelling of thy justice peaceable: | nếu anh trong sạch và ngay thẳng,ngay từ bây giờ, Người sẽ chở che anh,Người sẽ hoàn trả lại cho anhđịa vị của một người công chính. | εἰ καθαρὸς εἶ καὶ ἀληθινός, δεήσεως ἐπακούσεταί σου, ἀποκαταστήσει δέ σοι δίαιταν δικαιοσύνης· | אִם זַ֥ךְ וְיָשָׁ֗ר אָ֥תָּה כִּי עַ֭תָּה יָעִ֣יר עָלֶ֑יךָ וְ֝שִׁלַּ֗ם נְוַ֣ת צִדְקֶֽךָ | si mundus et rectus incesseris: statim evigilabit ad te, et pacatum reddet habitaculum justitiæ tuæ, | If you were pure and upright, surely now he would awaken for you, and make the habitation of your righteousness prosperous. |
| 7 | Insomuch, that if thy former things were small, thy latter things would be multiplied exceedingly. | Tình trạng xưa của anh sẽ chẳng là gì cảso với tương lai rực rỡ huy hoàng. | ἔσται οὖν τὰ μὲν πρῶτά σου ὀλίγα, τὰ δὲ ἔσχατά σου ἀμύθητα. | וְהָיָ֣ה רֵאשִׁיתְךָ֣ מִצְעָ֑ר וְ֝אַחֲרִיתְךָ֗ יִשְׂגֶּ֥ה מְאֹֽד | in tantum ut si priora tua fuerint parva, et novissima tua multiplicentur nimis. | Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would greatly increase. |
| 8 | For inquire of the former generation, and search diligently into the memory of the fathers: | Anh cứ hỏi thế hệ đã qua,kinh nghiệm cha ông, hãy gẫm suy cho kỹ. | ἐπερώτησον γὰρ γενεὰν πρώτην, ἐξιχνίασον δὲ κατὰ γένος πατέρων· | כִּֽי שְׁאַל נָ֭א לְדֹ֣ר רִישׁ֑וֹן וְ֝כוֹנֵ֗ן לְחֵ֣קֶר אֲבוֹתָֽם | Interroga enim generationem pristinam, et diligenter investiga patrum memoriam | “Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers. |
| 9 | (For we are but of yesterday, and are ignorant that our days upon earth are but a shadow:) | Là đám hậu sinh, chúng ta chẳng biết gì,cuộc đời chúng ta trên dương thếchẳng khác gì bóng câu. | χθιζοὶ γάρ ἐσμεν καὶ οὐκ οἴδαμεν, σκιὰ γάρ ἐστιν ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὁ βίος. | כִּֽי תְמ֣וֹל אֲ֭נַחְנוּ וְלֹ֣א נֵדָ֑ע כִּ֤י צֵ֖ל יָמֵ֣ינוּ עֲלֵי אָֽרֶץ | (hesterni quippe sumus, et ignoramus, quoniam sicut umbra dies nostri sunt super terram), | (For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.) |
| 10 | And they shall teach thee: they shall speak to thee, and utter words out of their hearts. | Nhưng các ngài sẽ dạy cho anh biết, sẽ nói cho anh hay,các ngài đã diễn tả kinh nghiệm qua câu châm ngôn này: | ἢ οὐχ οὗτοί σε διδάξουσιν καὶ ἀναγγελοῦσιν, καὶ ἐκ καρδίας ἐξάξουσιν ῥήματα; | הֲלֹא הֵ֣ם י֭וֹרוּךָ יֹ֣אמְרוּ לָ֑ךְ וּ֝מִלִּבָּ֗ם יוֹצִ֥אוּ מִלִּֽים | et ipsi docebunt te, loquentur tibi, et de corde suo proferent eloquia. | Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart? |
| 11 | Can the rush be green without moisture? or a sedge-bush grow without water? | “Ở bên ngoài đầm, đay mọc được chăng?Chỗ không có nước, sậy nào vươn nổi? | μὴ θάλλει πάπυρος ἄνευ ὕδατος; ἢ ὑψωθήσεται βούτομον ἄνευ πότου; | הֲיִֽגְאֶה גֹּ֭מֶא בְּלֹ֣א בִצָּ֑ה יִשְׂגֶּה אָ֥חוּ בְלִי מָֽיִם | Numquid vivere potest scirpus absque humore? aut crescere carectum sine aqua? | “Can the papyrus grow up without mire? Can the rushes grow without water? |
| 12 | When it is yet in flower, and is not plucked up with the hand, it withereth before all herbs. | Khi hãy còn non được cắt đem về,nó đã ra khô héo trước mọi thứ cỏ.” | ἔτι ὂν ἐπὶ ῥίζης, καὶ οὐ μὴ θερισθῇ· πρὸ τοῦ πιεῖν πᾶσα βοτάνη οὐχὶ ξηραίνεται; | עֹדֶ֣נּוּ בְ֭אִבּוֹ לֹ֣א יִקָּטֵ֑ף וְלִפְנֵ֖י כָל חָצִ֣יר יִיבָֽשׁ | Cum adhuc sit in flore, nec carpatur manu, ante omnes herbas arescit. | While it is yet in its greenness, not cut down, it withers before any other reed. |
| 13 | Even so are the ways of all that forget God, and the hope of the hypocrite shall perish: | Đó là số phận của mọi kẻ lãng quên Thiên Chúa,niềm hy vọng của phường gian ác cũng tiêu tan như vậy. | οὕτως τοίνυν ἔσται τὰ ἔσχατα πάντων τῶν ἐπιλανθανομένων τοῦ κυρίου· ἐλπὶς γὰρ ἀσεβοῦς ἀπολεῖται. | כֵּ֗ן אָ֭רְחוֹת כָּל שֹׁ֣כְחֵי אֵ֑ל וְתִקְוַ֖ת חָנֵ֣ף תֹּאבֵֽד | Sic viæ omnium qui obliviscuntur Deum, et spes hypocritæ peribit. | So are the paths of all who forget God. The hope of the godless man will perish, |
| 14 | His folly shall not please him, and his trust shall be like the spider’s web. | Nơi tin tưởng của nó như sợi chỉ treo mành,chỗ an toàn của nó khác chi tấm màng nhện. | ἀοίκητος γὰρ αὐτοῦ ἔσται ὁ οἶκος, ἀράχνη δὲ αὐτοῦ ἀποβήσεται ἡ σκηνή. | אֲשֶׁר יָק֥וֹט כִּסְל֑וֹ וּבֵ֥ית עַ֝כָּבִ֗ישׁ מִבְטַחֽוֹ | Non ei placebit vecordia sua, et sicut tela aranearum fiducia ejus. | whose confidence will break apart, whose trust is a spider’s web. |
| 15 | He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand: he shall prop it up, and it shall not rise: | Nó dựa vào nhà, nhưng nhà không vững,nó bám vào nhà, nhưng nhà lung lay. | ἐὰν ὑπερείσῃ τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ, οὐ μὴ στῇ· ἐπιλαβομένου δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ ὑπομείνῃ· | יִשָּׁעֵ֣ן עַל בֵּ֭יתוֹ וְלֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֑ד יַחֲזִ֥יק בּ֝֗וֹ וְלֹ֣א יָקֽוּם | Innitetur super domum suam, et non stabit; fulciet eam, et non consurget. | He will lean on his house, but it will not stand. He will cling to it, but it will not endure. |
| 16 | He seemeth to have moisture before the sun cometh, and at his rising his blossom shall shoot forth. | Dưới ánh mặt trời, nó tràn trề nhựa sống,và đâm chồi nẩy lộc toả khắp thửa vườn. | ὑγρὸς γάρ ἐστιν ὑπὸ ἡλίου, καὶ ἐκ σαπρίας αὐτοῦ ὁ ῥάδαμνος αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται. | רָטֹ֣ב ה֭וּא לִפְנֵי שָׁ֑מֶשׁ וְעַ֥ל גַּ֝נָּת֗וֹ יֹֽנַקְתּ֥וֹ תֵצֵֽא | Humectus videtur antequam veniat sol, et in ortu suo germen ejus egredietur. | He is green before the sun. His shoots go out along his garden. |
| 17 | His roots shall be thick upon a heap of stones, and among the stones he shall abide. | Rễ nó chằng chịt quanh đá tảng, ăn sâu vào khe đá. | ἐπὶ συναγωγὴν λίθων κοιμᾶται, ἐν δὲ μέσῳ χαλίκων ζήσεται. | עַל גַּ֭ל שָֽׁרָשָׁ֣יו יְסֻבָּ֑כוּ בֵּ֖ית אֲבָנִ֣ים יֶחֱזֶֽה | Super acervum petrarum radices ejus densabuntur, et inter lapides commorabitur. | His roots are wrapped around the rock pile. He sees the place of stones. |
| 18 | If one swallow him up out of his place, he shall deny him, and shall say: I know thee not. | Nhưng nếu người ta bứng nó đi khỏi chỗ nó ở,thì nơi nó ở cũng chối bỏ nó:“Có bao giờ tôi thấy anh đâu!” | ἐὰν καταπίῃ, ὁ τόπος ψεύσεται αὐτόν· οὐχ ἑόρακας τοιαῦτα. | אִם יְבַלְּעֶ֥נּוּ מִמְּקוֹמ֑וֹ וְכִ֥חֶשׁ בּ֝֗וֹ לֹ֣א רְאִיתִֽיךָ | Si absorbuerit eum de loco suo, negabit eum, et dicet: Non novi te. | If he is destroyed from his place, then it will deny him, saying, ‘I have not seen you.’ |
| 19 | For this is the joy of his way, that others may spring again out of the earth. | Đường nó đi, sung sướng như vậy đó!Từ bụi đất một mầm khác mọc lên. | ὅτι καταστροφὴ ἀσεβοῦς τοιαύτη, ἐκ δὲ γῆς ἄλλον ἀναβλαστήσει. | הֶן ה֭וּא מְשׂ֣וֹשׂ דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּ֝מֵעָפָ֗ר אַחֵ֥ר יִצְמָֽחוּ | Hæc est enim lætitia viæ ejus, ut rursum de terra alii germinentur. | Behold, this is the joy of his way. Out of the earth, others will spring. |
| 20 | God will not cast away the simple, nor reach out his hand to the evildoer: | Này, Thiên Chúa chẳng loại bỏ con người toàn vẹn,chẳng tiếp tay cho phường gian ác. | ὁ γὰρ κύριος οὐ μὴ ἀποποιήσηται τὸν ἄκακον, πᾶν δὲ δῶρον ἀσεβοῦς οὐ δέξεται. | הֶן אֵ֭ל לֹ֣א יִמְאַס תָּ֑ם וְלֹֽא יַ֝חֲזִ֗יק בְּיַד מְרֵעִֽים | Deus non projiciet simplicem, nec porriget manum malignis, | “Behold, God will not cast away a blameless man, neither will he uphold the evildoers. |
| 21 | Until thy mouth be filled with laughter, and thy lips with rejoicing. | Người sẽ lại cho miệng anh rộn rã tiếng cười,và môi anh vang khúc hoan ca. | ἀληθινῶν δὲ στόμα ἐμπλήσει γέλωτος, τὰ δὲ χείλη αὐτῶν ἐξομολογήσεως· | עַד יְמַלֵּ֣ה שְׂח֣וֹק פִּ֑יךָ וּשְׂפָתֶ֥יךָ תְרוּעָֽה | donec impleatur risu os tuum, et labia tua jubilo. | He will still fill your mouth with laughter, your lips with shouting. |
| 22 | They that hate thee, shall be clothed with confusion: and the dwelling of the wicked shall not stand. | Kẻ thù ghét anh phải thẹn thùng xấu hổ,nơi ở của phường gian ác cũng chẳng còn. | οἱ δὲ ἐχθροὶ αὐτῶν ἐνδύσονται αἰσχύνην, δίαιτα δὲ ἀσεβοῦς οὐκ ἔσται. | שֹׂנְאֶ֥יךָ יִלְבְּשׁוּ בֹ֑שֶׁת וְאֹ֖הֶל רְשָׁעִ֣ים אֵינֶֽנּוּ | Qui oderunt te induentur confusione, et tabernaculum impiorum non subsistet.] | Those who hate you will be clothed with shame. The tent of the wicked will be no more.” |
