And there assembled together unto him the Pharisees and some of the scribes, coming from Jerusalem.Có những người Pha-ri-sêu và một số kinh sư tụ họp quanh Đức Giê-su. Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to him, having come from Jerusalem.
And when they had seen some of his disciples eat bread with common, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.Họ thấy vài môn đệ của Người dùng bữa mà tay còn ô uế, nghĩa là chưa rửa.καὶ ἰδόντες τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ⸂ὅτι κοιναῖς χερσίν, τοῦτ’ ἔστιν ἀνίπτοις, ἐσθίουσιν⸃ ⸀τοὺς ⸀ἄρτους—Et cum vidissent quosdam ex discipulis ejus communibus manibus, id est non lotis, manducare panes, vituperaverunt. Now when they saw some of his disciples eating bread with defiled, that is unwashed, hands, they found fault.
For the Pharisees, and all the Jews eat not without often washing their hands, holding the tradition of the ancients:Thật vậy, người Pha-ri-sêu cũng như mọi người Do-thái đều nắm giữ truyền thống của tiền nhân: họ không ăn gì, khi chưa rửa tay cẩn thận;οἱ γὰρ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ πάντες οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἐὰν μὴ πυγμῇ νίψωνται τὰς χεῖρας οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν, κρατοῦντες τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων,Pharisæi enim, et omnes Judæi, nisi crebro laverint manus, non manducant, tenentes traditionem seniorum:(For the Pharisees and all the Jews don’t eat unless they wash their hands and forearms, holding to the tradition of the elders.
And when they come from the market, unless they be washed, they eat not: and many other things there are that have been delivered to them to observe, the washings of cups and of pots, and of brazen vessels, and of beds.thức gì mua ngoài chợ về, cũng phải rảy nước đã rồi mới ăn; họ còn giữ nhiều tập tục khác nữa như rửa chén bát, bình lọ và các đồ đồng.καὶ ἀπ’ ⸀ἀγορᾶς ἐὰν μὴ ⸀βαπτίσωνται οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν, καὶ ἄλλα πολλά ἐστιν ἃ παρέλαβον κρατεῖν, βαπτισμοὺς ποτηρίων καὶ ξεστῶν καὶ χαλκίων ⸂καὶ κλινῶν⸃—et a foro nisi baptizentur, non comedunt: et alia multa sunt, quæ tradita sunt illis servare, baptismata calicum, et urceorum, et æramentorum, et lectorum:They don’t eat when they come from the marketplace unless they bathe themselves, and there are many other things which they have received to hold to: washings of cups, pitchers, bronze vessels, and couches.)
And the Pharisees and scribes asked him: Why do not thy disciples walk according to the tradition of the ancients, but they eat bread with common hands?Vậy, người Pha-ri-sêu và kinh sư hỏi Đức Giê-su: “Sao các môn đệ của ông không theo truyền thống của tiền nhân, cứ để tay ô uế mà dùng bữa?”⸀καὶ ἐπερωτῶσιν αὐτὸν οἱ Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς· Διὰ τί ⸂οὐ περιπατοῦσιν οἱ μαθηταί σου⸃ κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, ἀλλὰ ⸀κοιναῖς χερσὶν ἐσθίουσιν τὸν ἄρτον;et interrogabant eum pharisæi et scribæ: Quare discipuli tui non ambulant juxta traditionem seniorum, sed communibus manibus manducant panem? The Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why don’t your disciples walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat their bread with unwashed hands?”
But he answering, said to them: Well did Isaias prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.Người trả lời họ: “Ngôn sứ I-sai-a thật đã nói tiên tri rất đúng về các ông là những kẻ đạo đức giả, khi viết rằng:Dân này tôn kính Tabằng môi bằng miệng,còn lòng chúng thì lại xa Ta.ὁ ⸀δὲ εἶπεν ⸀αὐτοῖς· Καλῶς ἐπροφήτευσεν Ἠσαΐας περὶ ὑμῶν τῶν ὑποκριτῶν, ὡς γέγραπται ⸀ὅτι Οὗτος ὁ λαὸς τοῖς χείλεσίν με τιμᾷ, ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ·At ille respondens, dixit eis: Bene prophetavit Isaias de vobis hypocritis, sicut scriptum est: [Populus hic labiis me honorat, cor autem eorum longe est a me:He answered them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
And in vain to they worship me, teaching doctrines and precepts of men.Chúng có thờ phượng Tathì cũng vô ích,vì giáo lý chúng giảng dạychỉ là giới luật phàm nhân.μάτην δὲ σέβονταί με, διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων·in vanum autem me colunt, docentes doctrinas, et præcepta hominum.]They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
For leaving the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the washing of pots and of cups: and many other things you do like to these.Các ông gạt bỏ điều răn của Thiên Chúa, mà duy trì truyền thống của người phàm.”⸀ἀφέντες τὴν ἐντολὴν τοῦ θεοῦ κρατεῖτε τὴν παράδοσιν τῶν ⸀ἀνθρώπων.Relinquentes enim mandatum Dei, tenetis traditionem hominum, baptismata urceorum et calicum: et alia similia his facitis multa.“For you set aside the commandment of God, and hold tightly to the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and you do many other such things.”
And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition. He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
For Moses said: Honour thy father and thy mother; and He that shall curse father or mother, dying let him die. For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’
But you say: If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, (which is a gift,) whatsoever is from me, shall profit thee.Còn các ông, các ông lại bảo: ‘Người nào nói với cha với mẹ rằng: những gì con có để giúp cha mẹ đều là co-ban nghĩa là lễ phẩm đã dâng cho Chúa’ rồi,ὑμεῖς δὲ λέγετε· Ἐὰν εἴπῃ ἄνθρωπος τῷ πατρὶ ἢ τῇ μητρί· Κορβᾶν, ὅ ἐστιν Δῶρον, ὃ ἐὰν ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὠφεληθῇς,Vos autem dicitis: Si dixerit homo patri, aut matri, Corban (quod est donum) quodcumque ex me, tibi profuerit:But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,
And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother,và các ông không để cho người ấy làm gì để giúp cha mẹ nữa.⸀οὐκέτι ἀφίετε αὐτὸν οὐδὲν ποιῆσαι τῷ ⸀πατρὶ ἢ τῇ ⸀μητρί,et ultra non dimittitis eum quidquam facere patri suo, aut matri,“then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,
Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do.Thế là các ông lấy truyền thống các ông đã truyền lại cho nhau mà huỷ bỏ lời Thiên Chúa. Các ông còn làm nhiều điều khác giống như vậy nữa!”Mt 15,10-20ἀκυροῦντες τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ τῇ παραδόσει ὑμῶν ᾗ παρεδώκατε· καὶ παρόμοια τοιαῦτα πολλὰ ποιεῖτε.rescindentes verbum Dei per traditionem vestram, quam tradidistis: et similia hujusmodi multa facitis.making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”
And calling again the multitude unto him, he said to them: Hear ye me all, and understand. Et advocans iterum turbam, dicebat illis: Audite me omnes, et intelligite. He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.
There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man. There is nothing from outside of the man that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”
And when he was come into the house from the multitude, his disciples asked him the parable.Khi Đức Giê-su đã rời đám đông mà vào nhà, các môn đệ hỏi Người về dụ ngôn ấy.Καὶ ὅτε εἰσῆλθεν ⸀εἰς οἶκον ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου, ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂τὴν παραβολήν⸃.Et cum introisset in domum a turba, interrogabant eum discipuli ejus parabolam. When he had entered into a house away from the multitude, his disciples asked him about the parable.
And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? understand you not that every thing from without, entering into a man cannot defile him:Người nói với các ông: “Cả anh em nữa, anh em cũng ngu tối như thế sao? Anh em không hiểu sao? Non intelligitis quia omne extrinsecus introiens in hominem, non potest eum communicare:He said to them, “Are you also without understanding? Don’t you perceive that whatever goes into the man from outside can’t defile him,
Because it entereth not into his heart, but goeth into the belly, and goeth out into the privy, purging all meats?bởi vì nó không đi vào lòng, nhưng vào bụng người ta, rồi bị thải ra ngoài?” Như vậy là Người tuyên bố mọi thức ăn đều thanh sạch.ὅτι οὐκ εἰσπορεύεται αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν καρδίαν ἀλλ’ εἰς τὴν κοιλίαν, καὶ εἰς τὸν ἀφεδρῶνα ἐκπορεύεται; —⸀καθαρίζων πάντα τὰ βρώματα.quia non intrat in cor ejus, sed in ventrum vadit, et in secessum exit, purgans omnes escas?because it doesn’t go into his heart, but into his stomach, then into the latrine, making all foods clean?”
But he said that the things which come out from a man, they defile a man.Người nói: “Cái gì từ trong con người xuất ra, cái đó mới làm cho con người ra ô uế.ἔλεγεν δὲ ὅτι Τὸ ἐκ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐκπορευόμενον ἐκεῖνο κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον·Dicebat autem, quoniam quæ de homine exeunt, illa communicant hominem. He said, “That which proceeds out of the man, that defiles the man.
For from within out of the heart of men proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,Vì từ bên trong, từ lòng người, phát xuất những ý định xấu: tà dâm, trộm cắp, giết người,ἔσωθεν γὰρ ἐκ τῆς καρδίας τῶν ἀνθρώπων οἱ διαλογισμοὶ οἱ κακοὶ ἐκπορεύονται, ⸂πορνεῖαι, κλοπαί, φόνοι,Ab intus enim de corde hominum malæ cogitationes procedunt, adulteria, fornicationes, homicidia,For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts,
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.ngoại tình, tham lam, độc ác, xảo trá, trác táng, ganh tị, phỉ báng, kiêu ngạo, ngông cuồng.μοιχεῖαι⸃, πλεονεξίαι, πονηρίαι, δόλος, ἀσέλγεια, ὀφθαλμὸς πονηρός, βλασφημία, ὑπερηφανία, ἀφροσύνη·furta, avaritiæ, nequitiæ, dolus, impudicitiæ, oculus malus, blasphemia, superbia, stultitia.covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness.
All these evil things come from within, and defile a man.Tất cả những điều xấu xa đó, đều từ bên trong xuất ra, và làm cho con người ra ô uế.”Mt 15,21-28πάντα ταῦτα τὰ πονηρὰ ἔσωθεν ἐκπορεύεται καὶ κοινοῖ τὸν ἄνθρωπον. All these evil things come from within and defile the man.”
And rising from thence he went into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon: and entering into a house, he would that no man should know it, and he could not be hid.Đức Giê-su đứng dậy, rời nơi đó, đến địa hạt Tia. Người vào một nhà nọ mà không muốn cho ai biết, nhưng không thể giấu được.⸂Ἐκεῖθεν δὲ⸃ ἀναστὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὰ ⸀ὅρια ⸀Τύρου. καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς οἰκίαν οὐδένα ἤθελεν γνῶναι, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθη λαθεῖν·Et inde surgens abiit in fines Tyri et Sidonis: et ingressus domum, neminem voluit scire, et non potuit latere. From there he arose and went away into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. He entered into a house and didn’t want anyone to know it, but he couldn’t escape notice.
For a woman as soon as she heard of him, whose daughter had an unclean spirit, came in and fell down at his feet. For a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit, having heard of him, came and fell down at his feet.
For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.Bà là người Hy-lạp, gốc Phê-ni-xi thuộc xứ Xy-ri. Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. She begged him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.
Who said to her: Suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children, and cast it to the dogs.Người nói với bà: “Phải để cho con cái ăn no trước đã, vì không được lấy bánh dành cho con cái mà ném cho chó con.”⸂καὶ ἔλεγεν⸃ αὐτῇ· Ἄφες πρῶτον χορτασθῆναι τὰ τέκνα, οὐ γὰρ ⸂καλόν ἐστιν⸃ λαβεῖν τὸν ἄρτον τῶν τέκνων καὶ ⸂τοῖς κυναρίοις βαλεῖν⸃.Qui dixit illi: Sine prius saturari filios: non est enim bonum sumere panem filiorum, et mittere canibus. But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
But she answered and said to him: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat under the table of the crumbs of the children.Bà ấy đáp: “Thưa Ngài, đúng thế, nhưng chó con ở dưới gầm bàn lại được ăn những mảnh vụn của đám trẻ con.”ἡ δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· ⸀Κύριε, ⸀καὶ τὰ κυνάρια ὑποκάτω τῆς τραπέζης ⸀ἐσθίουσιν ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν παιδίων. But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”
And he said to her: For this saying go thy way, the devil is gone out of thy daughter.Người nói với bà: “Vì bà nói thế, nên bà cứ về đi, quỷ đã xuất khỏi con gái bà rồi.”καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Διὰ τοῦτον τὸν λόγον ὕπαγε, ἐξελήλυθεν ⸂ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός σου τὸ δαιμόνιον⸃.Et ait illi: Propter hunc sermonem vade: exiit dæmonium a filia tua.He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”
And when she was come into her house, she found the girl lying upon the bed, and that the devil was gone out.Về đến nhà, bà thấy đứa trẻ nằm trên giường và quỷ đã xuất.καὶ ἀπελθοῦσα εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτῆς εὗρεν τὸ ⸂παιδίον βεβλημένον ἐπὶ τὴν κλίνην καὶ τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐξεληλυθός⸃.Et cum abiisset domum suam, invenit puellam jacentem supra lectum, et dæmonium exiisse. She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.
And again going out of the coasts of Tyre, he came by Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.Đức Giê-su lại bỏ vùng Tia, đi qua ngả Xi-đôn, đến biển hồ Ga-li-lê vào miền Thập Tỉnh.Καὶ πάλιν ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων Τύρου ⸂ἦλθεν διὰ Σιδῶνος εἰς⸃ τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὁρίων Δεκαπόλεως. Again he departed from the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and came to the sea of Galilee through the middle of the region of Decapolis.
And they bring to him one deaf and dumb; and they besought him that he would lay his hand upon him. They brought to him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech. They begged him to lay his hand on him.
And taking him from the multitude apart, he put his fingers into his ears, and spitting, he touched his tongue:Người kéo riêng anh ta ra khỏi đám đông, đặt ngón tay vào lỗ tai anh, và nhổ nước miếng mà bôi vào lưỡi anh.καὶ ἀπολαβόμενος αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου κατ’ ἰδίαν ἔβαλεν τοὺς δακτύλους αὐτοῦ εἰς τὰ ὦτα αὐτοῦ καὶ πτύσας ἥψατο τῆς γλώσσης αὐτοῦ,Et apprehendens eum de turba seorsum, misit digitos suos in auriculas ejus: et exspuens, tetigit linguam ejus:He took him aside from the multitude privately and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat and touched his tongue.
And looking up to heaven, he groaned, and said to him: Ephpheta, which is, Be thou opened.Rồi Người ngước mắt lên trời, rên một tiếng và nói: “Ép-pha-tha”, nghĩa là: “hãy mở ra!”καὶ ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἐστέναξεν, καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Εφφαθα, ὅ ἐστιν Διανοίχθητι·et suscipiens in cælum, ingemuit, et ait illi: Ephphetha, quod est, Adaperire.Looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”
And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke right.Lập tức tai anh ta mở ra, lưỡi như hết bị buộc lại. Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.
And he charged them that they should tell no man. But the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal did they publish it.Đức Giê-su truyền bảo họ không được kể chuyện đó với ai cả. Et præcepit illis ne cui dicerent. Quanto autem eis præcipiebat, tanto magis plus prædicabant:He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.
And so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well; he hath made both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.Họ hết sức kinh ngạc, và nói: “Ông ấy làm việc gì cũng tốt đẹp cả: ông làm cho kẻ điếc nghe được, và kẻ câm nói được.”καὶ ὑπερπερισσῶς ἐξεπλήσσοντο λέγοντες· Καλῶς πάντα πεποίηκεν, καὶ τοὺς κωφοὺς ποιεῖ ἀκούειν ⸀καὶ ἀλάλους λαλεῖν.et eo amplius admirabantur, dicentes: Bene omnia fecit: et surdos fecit audire, et mutos loqui. They were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes even the deaf hear and the mute speak!”
