| 5 | Go, and say to my servant David: Thus saith the Lord: Shalt thou build me a house to dwell in? | “Hãy đi nói với tôi tớ của Ta là Đa-vít: ĐỨC CHÚA phán thế này: Ngươi mà xây nhà cho Ta ở sao? | Πορεύου καὶ εἰπὸν πρὸς τὸν δοῦλόν μου Δαυείδ Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Οὐ σὺ οἰκοδομήσεις μοι οἶκον τοῦ κατοικῆσαί με. | לֵ֤ךְ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙ אֶל עַבְדִּ֣י אֶל דָּוִ֔ד כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה הַאַתָּ֛ה תִּבְנֶה לִּ֥י בַ֖יִת לְשִׁבְתִּֽי | Vade, et loquere ad servum meum David: Hæc dicit Dominus: Numquid tu ædificabis mihi domum ad habitandum? | “Go and tell my servant David, ‘The LORD says, “Should you build me a house for me to dwell in? |
| 6 | Whereas I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt even to this day: but have walked in a tabernacle, and in a tent. | Thật vậy, từ ngày Ta đưa con cái Ít-ra-en lên từ Ai-cập cho tới ngày hôm nay, Ta không hề ở trong một ngôi nhà, nhưng Ta đã nay đây mai đó trong một cái lều và trong một nhà tạm. | ὅτι οὐ κατῴκηκα ἐν οἴκῳ ἀφ᾽ ἧς ἡμέρας ἀνήγαγον ἐξ Αἰγύπτου τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης, καὶ ἤμην ἐνπεριπατῶν ἐν καταλύματι καὶ ἐν σκηνῇ. | כִּ֣י לֹ֤א יָשַׁ֨בְתִּי֙ בְּבַ֔יִת לְ֠מִיּוֹם הַעֲלֹתִ֞י אֶת בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם וְעַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וָאֶֽהְיֶה֙ מִתְהַלֵּ֔ךְ בְּאֹ֖הֶל וּבְמִשְׁכָּֽן | Neque enim habitavi in domo ex die illa, qua eduxi filios Israël de terra Ægypti, usque in diem hanc: sed ambulabam in tabernaculo, et in tentorio. | For I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought the children of Israel up out of Egypt, even to this day, but have moved around in a tent and in a tabernacle. |
| 7 | In all the places that I have gone through with all the children of Israel, did ever I speak a word to any one of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying: Why have you not built me a house of cedar? | Trong suốt thời gian rày đây mai đó với toàn thể con cái Ít-ra-en, có bao giờ Ta đã lên tiếng hỏi một trong các thủ lãnh Ít-ra-en mà Ta đã đặt lên chăn dắt dân Ta là Ít-ra-en: ‘Sao các ngươi không xây cho Ta một ngôi nhà bằng gỗ bá hương?’ | ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς διῆλθον ἐν παντὶ Ἰσραὴλ εἰ λαλῶν ἐλάλησα πρὸς μίαν φυλὴν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ᾧ ἐνετειλάμην ποιμαίνειν τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ λέγων Ὅτι οὐκ ᾠκοδομήκατέ μοι οἶκον κέδρινον; | בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶֽׁר הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי֮ בְּכָל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ הֲדָבָ֣ר דִּבַּ֗רְתִּי אֶת אַחַד֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֗יתִי לִרְע֛וֹת אֶת עַמִּ֥י אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר לָ֛מָּה לֹֽא בְנִיתֶ֥ם לִ֖י בֵּ֥ית אֲרָזִֽים | Per cuncta loca quæ transivi cum omnibus filiis Israël, numquid loquens locutus sum ad unam de tribubus Israël, cui præcepi ut pasceret populum meum Israël, dicens: Quare non ædificastis mihi domum cedrinam? | In all places in which I have walked with all the children of Israel, did I say a word to anyone from the tribes of Israel whom I commanded to be shepherd of my people Israel, saying, ‘Why have you not built me a house of cedar?’”’ |
| 8 | And now thus shalt thou speak to my servant David: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: a I took thee out of the pastures from following the sheep to be ruler over my people Israel: | Bây giờ ngươi hãy nói với tôi tớ Ta là Đa-vít như sau: ĐỨC CHÚA các đạo binh phán thế này: Chính Ta đã cất nhắc ngươi, từ một kẻ lùa chiên ngoài đồng cỏ, lên làm người lãnh đạo dân Ta là Ít-ra-en. | καὶ νῦν τάδε ἐρεῖς τῷ δούλῳ μου Δαυείδ Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Παντοκράτωρ Ἔλαβόν σε ἐκ τῆς μάνδρας τῶν προβάτων τοῦ εἶναί σε εἰς ἡγούμενον ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραήλ, | וְ֠עַתָּה כֹּֽה תֹאמַ֞ר לְעַבְדִּ֣י לְדָוִ֗ד כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ יְהוָ֣ה צְבָא֔וֹת אֲנִ֤י לְקַחְתִּ֨יךָ֙ מִן הַנָּוֶ֔ה מֵאַחַ֖ר הַצֹּ֑אן לִֽהְי֣וֹת נָגִ֔יד עַל עַמִּ֖י עַל יִשְׂרָאֵֽל | Et nunc hæc dices servo meo David: Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum: Ego tuli te de pascuis sequentem greges, ut esses dux super populum meum Israël: | Now therefore tell my servant David this: ‘The LORD of Armies says, “I took you from the sheep pen, from following the sheep, to be prince over my people, over Israel. |
| 9 | And I have been with thee wheresoever thou hast walked, and have slain all thy enemies from before thy face: and I have made thee a great man, like unto the name of the great ones that are on the earth. | Ngươi đi đâu, Ta cũng đã ở với ngươi; mọi thù địch ngươi, Ta đã diệt trừ cho khuất mắt ngươi. Ta sẽ làm cho tên tuổi ngươi lẫy lừng, như tên tuổi những bậc vĩ nhân trên mặt đất. | καὶ ἤμην μετὰ σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐπορεύου, καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσα πάντας τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ἀπὸ προσώπου σου, καὶ ἐποίησά σε ὀνομαστὸν κατὰ τὸ ὄνομα τῶν μεγάλων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς. | וָאֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמְּךָ֗ בְּכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָלַ֔כְתָּ וָאַכְרִ֥תָה אֶת כָּל אֹיְבֶ֖יךָ מִפָּנֶ֑יךָ וְעָשִׂ֤תִֽי לְךָ֙ שֵׁ֣ם גָּד֔וֹל כְּשֵׁ֥ם הַגְּדֹלִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּאָֽרֶץ | et fui tecum in omnibus ubicumque ambulasti, et interfeci universos inimicos tuos a facie tua: fecique tibi nomen grande, juxta nomen magnorum qui sunt in terra. | I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you. I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones who are on the earth. |
| 10 | And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and I will plant them, and they shall dwell therein, and shall be disturbed no more: neither shall the children of iniquity afflict them any more as they did before, | Ta sẽ cho dân Ta là Ít-ra-en một chỗ ở, Ta sẽ định cư chúng, và chúng sẽ ở luôn tại đó, chúng sẽ không còn run sợ, và quân gian ác cũng không còn tiếp tục áp bức chúng như thuở ban đầu, | καὶ θήσομαι τόπον τῷ λαῷ μου τῷ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ καταφυτεύσω αὐτόν, καὶ κατασκηνώσει καθ᾽ ἑαυτὸν καὶ οὐ μεριμνήσει οὐκέτι, καὶ οὐ προσθήσει οὐκέτι υἱὸς ἀδικίας τοῦ ταπεινῶσαι αὐτὸν καθὼς ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς, | וְשַׂמְתִּ֣י מָ֠קוֹם לְעַמִּ֨י לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל וּנְטַעְתִּיו֙ וְשָׁכַ֣ן תַּחְתָּ֔יו וְלֹ֥א יִרְגַּ֖ז ע֑וֹד וְלֹֽא יֹסִ֤יפוּ בְנֵֽי עַוְלָה֙ לְעַנּוֹת֔וֹ כַּאֲשֶׁ֖ר בָּרִאשׁוֹנָֽה | Et ponam locum populo meo Israël, et plantabo eum, et habitabit sub eo, et non turbabitur amplius: nec addent filii iniquitatis ut affligant eum sicut prius, | I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place and be moved no more. The children of wickedness will not afflict them any more, as at the first, |
| 11 | From the day that I appointed judges over my people Israel: and I will give thee rest from all thy enemies. And the Lord foretelleth to thee, that the Lord will make thee a house. | kể từ thời Ta đặt các thủ lãnh cai quản dân Ta là Ít-ra-en. Ta sẽ cho ngươi được thảnh thơi, không còn thù địch nào nữa, ĐỨC CHÚA báo cho ngươi biết là ĐỨC CHÚA lập cho ngươi một nhà. | ἀπὸ τῶν ἡμερῶν ὧν ἔταξα κριτὰς ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραήλ· καὶ ἀναπαύσω σε ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐχθρῶν σου, καὶ ἀπαγγελεῖ σοι Κύριος ὅτι οἶκον οἰκοδομήσεις αὐτῷ. | וּלְמִן הַיּ֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוִּ֤יתִי שֹֽׁפְטִים֙ עַל עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַהֲנִיחֹ֥תִי לְךָ֖ מִכָּל אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ וְהִגִּ֤יד לְךָ֙ יְהוָ֔ה כִּי בַ֖יִת יַעֲשֶׂה לְּךָ֥ יְהוָֽה | ex die qua constitui judices super populum meum Israël: et requiem dabo tibi ab omnibus inimicis tuis: prædicitque tibi Dominus quod domum faciat tibi Dominus. | and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover the LORD tells you that the LORD will make you a house. |
| 12 | And when thy days shall be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom. | Khi ngày đời của ngươi đã mãn và ngươi đã nằm xuống với cha ông, Ta sẽ cho dòng dõi ngươi đứng lên kế vị ngươi –một người do chính ngươi sinh ra–, và Ta sẽ làm cho vương quyền của nó được vững bền. | καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν πληρωθῶσιν αἱ ἡμέραι σου καὶ κοιμηθήσῃ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων σου, καὶ ἀναστήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου μετὰ σὲ ὃς ἔσται ἐκ τῆς κοιλίας σου, καὶ ἑτοιμάσω τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ· | כִּ֣י יִמְלְא֣וּ יָמֶ֗יךָ וְשָֽׁכַבְתָּ֙ אֶת אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ וַהֲקִימֹתִ֤י אֶֽת זַרְעֲךָ֙ אַחֲרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֵצֵ֖א מִמֵּעֶ֑יךָ וַהֲכִינֹתִ֖י אֶת מַמְלַכְתּֽוֹ | Cumque completi fuerint dies tui, et dormieris cum patribus tuis, suscitabo semen tuum post te, quod egredietur de utero tuo, et firmabo regnum ejus. | When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom. |
| 13 | He shall build a house to my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. | Chính nó sẽ xây một nhà để tôn kính danh Ta, và Ta sẽ làm cho ngai vàng của nó vững bền mãi mãi. | αὐτὸς οἰκοδομήσει μοι οἶκον τῷ ὀνόματί μου, καὶ ἀνορθώσω τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ ἕως εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. | ה֥וּא יִבְנֶה בַּ֖יִת לִשְׁמִ֑י וְכֹנַנְתִּ֛י אֶת כִּסֵּ֥א מַמְלַכְתּ֖וֹ עַד עוֹלָֽם | Ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo, et stabiliam thronum regni ejus usque in sempiternum. | He will build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. |
| 14 | I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son: and if he commit any iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men. | Đối với nó, Ta sẽ là cha, đối với Ta, nó sẽ là con. Khi nó phạm lỗi, Ta sẽ sửa phạt nó bằng roi của người phàm, bằng đòn của con người. | ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῷ εἰς πατέρα καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱόν· καὶ ἐὰν ἔλθῃ ἀδικία αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐλέγξω αὐτὸν ἐν ῥάβδῳ ἀνδρῶν καὶ ἐν ἁφαῖς υἱῶν ἀνθρώπων, | אֲנִי֙ אֶהְיֶה לּ֣וֹ לְאָ֔ב וְה֖וּא יִהְיֶה לִּ֣י לְבֵ֑ן אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּהַ֣עֲוֺת֔וֹ וְהֹֽכַחְתִּיו֙ בְּשֵׁ֣בֶט אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וּבְנִגְעֵ֖י בְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם | Ego ero ei in patrem, et ipse erit mihi in filium: qui si inique aliquid gesserit, arguam eum in virga virorum, et in plagis filiorum hominum. | I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men; |
| 15 | But my mercy I will not take away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before my face. | Tình thương của Ta sẽ không rời khỏi nó, như Ta đã cho rời khỏi Sa-un, kẻ Ta đã bắt rời khỏi mặt ngươi. | τὸ δὲ ἔλεός μου οὐκ ἀποστήσω ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ καθὼς ἀπέστησα ἀφ᾽ ὧν ἀπέστησα ἐκ προσώπου μου. | וְחַסְדִּ֖י לֹא יָס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֲסִרֹ֨תִי֙ מֵעִ֣ם שָׁא֔וּל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲסִרֹ֖תִי מִלְּפָנֶֽיךָ | Misericordiam autem meam non auferam ab eo, sicut abstuli a Saul, quem amovi a facie mea. | but my loving kindness will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before you. |
| 16 | And thy house shall be faithful, and thy kingdom for ever before thy face, and thy throne shall be firm for ever. | Trước mặt Ta, nhà của ngươi và vương quyền của ngươi sẽ muôn đời bền vững, và ngai vàng của ngươi sẽ được củng cố đến muôn đời.” | καὶ πιστωθήσεται ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ βασιλεία αὐτοῦ ἕως αἰῶνος ἐνώπιον ἐμοῦ, καὶ ὁ θρόνος αὐτοῦ ἔσται ἀνωρθωμένος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. | וְנֶאְמַ֨ן בֵּיתְךָ֧ וּמַֽמְלַכְתְּךָ֛ עַד עוֹלָ֖ם לְפָנֶ֑יךָ כִּֽסְאֲךָ֔ יִהְיֶ֥ה נָכ֖וֹן עַד עוֹלָֽם | Et fidelis erit domus tua, et regnum tuum usque in æternum ante faciem tuam, et thronus tuus erit firmus jugiter. | Your house and your kingdom will be made sure forever before you. Your throne will be established forever.”’” |
| 17 | According to all these words and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David. | Ông Na-than đã nói lại với vua Đa-vít, đúng y như tất cả những lời ấy và tất cả thị kiến ấy.1 Sb 17,16-27 | κατὰ πάντας τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ κατὰ πᾶσαν τὴν ὅρασιν ταύτην, οὕτως ἐλάλησεν Ναθὰν πρὸς Δαυείδ. | כְּכֹל֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וּכְכֹ֖ל הַחִזָּי֣וֹן הַזֶּ֑ה כֵּ֛ן דִּבֶּ֥ר נָתָ֖ן אֶל דָּוִֽד | Secundum omnia verba hæc, et juxta universam visionem istam, sic locutus est Nathan ad David. | Nathan spoke to David all these words, and according to all this vision. |
| 18 | And David went in, and sat before the Lord, and said: Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my house, that thou hast brought me thus far? | Vua Đa-vít vào ngồi chầu trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA và thưa: “Lạy ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng, con là ai và nhà của con là gì, mà Ngài đã đưa con tới địa vị này? | Καὶ εἰσῆλθεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Δαυεὶδ καὶ ἐκάθισεν ἐνώπιον Κυρίου, καὶ εἶπεν Τίς εἰμι ἐγώ, κύριέ μου Κύριε, καὶ τίς ὁ οἶκός μου, ὅτι ἠγάπηκάς με ἕως τούτων; | וַיָּבֹא֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ דָּוִ֔ד וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיֹּ֗אמֶר מִ֣י אָנֹכִ֞י אֲדֹנָ֤י יְהוִה֙ וּמִ֣י בֵיתִ֔י כִּ֥י הֲבִיאֹתַ֖נִי עַד הֲלֹֽם | Ingressus est autem rex David, et sedit coram Domino, et dixit: Quis ego sum, Domine Deus, et quæ domus mea, quia adduxisti me hucusque? | Then David the king went in and sat before the LORD; and he said, “Who am I, Lord GOD, and what is my house, that you have brought me this far? |

| 20 | And what can David say more unto thee? for thou knowest thy servant, O Lord God: | Đa-vít còn nói được gì thêm với Ngài? Ngài biết tôi tớ Ngài, lạy ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng! | καὶ τί προσθήσει Δαυεὶδ ἔτι τοῦ λαλῆσαι πρὸς σέ; καὶ νῦν σὺ οἶδας τὸν δοῦλόν σου, Κύριε. | וּמַה יּוֹסִ֥יף דָּוִ֛ד ע֖וֹד לְדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלֶ֑יךָ וְאַתָּ֛ה יָדַ֥עְתָּ אֶֽת עַבְדְּךָ֖ אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה | Quid ergo addere poterit adhuc David, ut loquatur ad te? tu enim scis servum tuum, Domine Deus. | What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Lord GOD. |
| 21 | For thy word’s sake, and according to thy own heart thou hast done all these great things, so that thou wouldst make it known to thy servant. | Vì lời Ngài đã phán và theo như lòng Ngài muốn, Ngài đã thực hiện tất cả công trình vĩ đại này, để làm cho tôi tớ Ngài được biết. | διὰ τὸν δοῦλόν σου πεποίηκας· καὶ κατὰ τὴν καρδίαν σου ἐποίησας πᾶσαν τὴν μεγαλωσύνην ταύτην, γνωρίσαι τῷ δούλῳ σου, | בַּעֲב֤וּר דְּבָֽרְךָ֙ וּֽכְלִבְּךָ֔ עָשִׂ֕יתָ אֵ֥ת כָּל הַגְּדוּלָּ֖ה הַזֹּ֑את לְהוֹדִ֖יעַ אֶת עַבְדֶּֽךָ | Propter verbum tuum, et secundum cor tuum, fecisti omnia magnalia hæc, ita ut notum faceres servo tuo. | For your word’s sake, and according to your own heart, you have worked all this greatness, to make your servant know it. |
| 22 | Therefore thou art magnified, O Lord God, because there is none like to thee, neither is there any God besides thee, in all the things that we have heard with our ears. | Vì thế, lạy ĐỨC CHÚA là Chúa Thượng, Ngài thật vĩ đại: không ai sánh được như Ngài; và không có Thiên Chúa nào khác ngoại trừ Ngài, theo như mọi điều tai chúng con đã từng được nghe. | ἕνεκεν τοῦ μεγαλῦναί σε, Κύριε κύριέ μου· ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ὡς σύ, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν θεὸς πλὴν σοῦ ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἠκούσαμεν ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ἡμῶν. | עַל כֵּ֥ן גָּדַ֖לְתָּ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה כִּֽי אֵ֣ין כָּמ֗וֹךָ וְאֵ֤ין אֱלֹהִים֙ זֽוּלָתֶ֔ךָ בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַ֖עְנוּ בְּאָזְנֵֽינוּ | Idcirco magnificatus es, Domine Deus, quia non est similis tui, neque est deus extra te, in omnibus quæ audivimus auribus nostris. | Therefore you are great, LORD God. For there is no one like you, neither is there any God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears. |
| 23 | And what nation is there upon earth, as thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for them great and terrible things, upon the earth, before the face of thy people, whom thou redeemedst to thyself out of Egypt, from the nations and their gods. | Dưới đất có một dân tộc nào được như dân Ngài là Ít-ra-en? | 26 | That thy name may be magnified for ever, and it may be said: The Lord of hosts is God over Israel. | 27 | Because thou, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to the ear of thy servant, saying: I will build thee a house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer to thee. | Thật vậy, lạy ĐỨC CHÚA các đạo binh, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en, chính Ngài đã mặc khải cho tôi tớ Ngài rằng: Ta sẽ xây cho ngươi một nhà. | 29 | And now begin, and bless the house of thy servant, that it may endure for ever before thee: because thou, O Lord God, hast spoken it, and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever. | Vậy giờ đây, cúi xin Ngài giáng phúc cho nhà của tôi tớ Ngài, để nhà ấy được tồn tại mãi trước nhan Ngài.
