| 2 | Gird up thy loins like a man: I will ask thee, and do thou tell me. | Hỏi rằng kẻ tranh luận với Đấng Toàn Năng, có gì để chỉ trích,và kẻ kêu trách Thiên Chúa, có gì để trả lời? | Μή, ἀλλὰ ζῶσαι ὥσπερ ἀνὴρ τὴν ὀσφύν σου, ἐρωτήσω δέ σε, σύ δέ μοι ἀπόκριναι· | הֲ֭רֹב עִם שַׁדַּ֣י יִסּ֑וֹר מוֹכִ֖יחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ יַעֲנֶֽנָּה | [Accinge sicut vir lumbos tuos: interrogabo te, et indica mihi. | “Shall he who argues contend with the Almighty? | 3 | Wilt thou make void my judgment: and condemn me, that thou mayst be justified? | Ông Gióp thưa lại ĐỨC CHÚA: | μὴ ἀποποιοῦ μου τὸ κρίμα. οἴει δέ με ἄλλως σοι κεχρηματικέναι ἢ ἳνα ἀναφανῇς δίκαιος; | וַיַּ֖עַן אִיּ֥וֹב אֶת יְהוָ֗ה וַיֹּאמַֽר | Numquid irritum facies judicium meum, et condemnabis me, ut tu justificeris? | Then Job answered the LORD, |
| 4 | And hast thou an arm like God, and canst thou thunder with a voice like him? | Vâng, con đây tầm thường bé nhỏ, biết nói chi để trả lời Ngài?Con sẽ đưa tay lên che miệng. | ἢ βραχίων σοί ἐστιν κατὰ τοῦ κυρίου, ἢ φωνῇ κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ βροντᾷς; | הֵ֣ן קַ֭לֹּתִי מָ֣ה אֲשִׁיבֶ֑ךָּ יָ֝דִ֗י שַׂ֣מְתִּי לְמוֹ פִֽי | Et si habes brachium sicut Deus? et si voce simili tonas? | “Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth. |
| 5 | Clothe thyself with beauty, and set thyself up on high and be glorious, and put on goodly garments. | Đã nói một lần rồi, con không lặp lại nữa,có nói lần thứ hai, cũng chẳng thêm được gì! | ἀνάλαβε δὴ ὕψος καὶ δύναμιν, δόξαν δὲ καὶ τιμὴν ἀμφίεσαι. | אַחַ֣ת דִּ֭בַּרְתִּי וְלֹ֣א אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ה וּ֝שְׁתַּ֗יִם וְלֹ֣א אוֹסִֽיף | Circumda tibi decorem, et in sublime erigere, et esto gloriosus, et speciosis induere vestibus. | I have spoken once, and I will not answer; Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.” |
| 6 | Scatter the proud in thy indignation, and behold every arrogant man, and humble him. | Bấy giờ, giữa cơn bão táp, ĐỨC CHÚA lên tiếng trả lời ông Gióp: | ἀπόστειλον δὲ ἀγγέλους ὀργῇ, πᾶν δὲ ὑβριστὴν ταπείνωσον, | וַיַּֽעַן יְהוָ֣ה אֶת אִ֭יּוֹב מנ סערה מִ֥ן סְעָרָ֗ה וַיֹּאמַֽר | Disperge superbos in furore tuo, et respiciens omnem arrogantem humilia. | Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind: |
| 7 | Look on all that are proud, and confound them, and crush the wicked in their place. | Hãy thắt chặt đai lưng như dũng sĩ,Ta sẽ tra hỏi ngươi, và ngươi hãy trả lời. | ὑπερήφανον δὲ σβέσον· σῆψον δὲ ἀσεβεῖς παραχρῆμα, | אֱזָר נָ֣א כְגֶ֣בֶר חֲלָצֶ֑יךָ אֶ֝שְׁאָלְךָ֗ וְהוֹדִיעֵֽנִי | Respice cunctos superbos, et confunde eos, et contere impios in loco suo. | “Now brace yourself like a man. I will question you, and you will answer me. |
| 8 | Hide them in the dust together, and plunge their faces into the pit. | Phán quyết của Ta, phải chăng ngươi cố tình phá bỏ,lên án Ta để biện minh cho mình? | κρύψον δὲ εἰς γῆν ὁμοθυμαδόν, τὰ δὲ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν ἀτιμίας ἔμπλησον· | הַ֭אַף תָּפֵ֣ר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑י תַּ֝רְשִׁיעֵ֗נִי לְמַ֣עַן תִּצְדָּֽק | Absconde eos in pulvere simul, et facies eorum demerge in foveam. | Will you even annul my judgment? Will you condemn me, that you may be justified? |
| 9 | Then I will confess that thy right hand is able to save thee. | Tay ngươi có mạnh như tay Thiên Chúa,tiếng ngươi có vang như tiếng sấm của Người? | ὁμολογήσω ὅτι δύναται ἡ δεξιά σου σῶσαι. | וְאִם זְר֖וֹעַ כָּאֵ֥ל לָ֑ךְ וּ֝בְק֗וֹל כָּמֹ֥הוּ תַרְעֵֽם | Et ego confitebor quod salvare te possit dextera tua. | Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? |
| 10 | Behold behemoth whom I made with thee, he eateth grass like an ox. | Hãy lấy quyền uy cao cả làm đồ trang sức,lấy oai phong lẫm liệt làm áo che thân. | ἀλλὰ δὴ ἰδοὺ δὴ θηρία παρὰ σοί, χόρτον ἴσα βουσὶν ἐσθίουσιν. | עֲדֵ֥ה נָ֣א גָֽא֣וֹן וָגֹ֑בַהּ וְה֖וֹד וְהָדָ֣ר תִּלְבָּֽשׁ | Ecce behemoth quem feci tecum, fœnum quasi bos comedet. | “Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty. |
| 11 | His strength is in his loins, and his force in the navel of his belly. | Hãy trút cơn thịnh nộ lôi đình,trừng đôi mắt hạ đứa kiêu căng. | ἰδοὺ δὴ ἰσχὺς αὐτοῦ ἐπ᾽ ὀσφύι, ἡ δὲ δύναμις ἐπ᾽ ὀμφαλοῦ γαστρός· | הָ֭פֵץ עֶבְר֣וֹת אַפֶּ֑ךָ וּרְאֵ֥ה כָל גֵּ֝אֶ֗ה וְהַשְׁפִּילֵֽהוּ | Fortitudo ejus in lumbis ejus, et virtus illius in umbilico ventris ejus. | Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low. |
| 12 | He setteth up his tail like a cedar, the sinews of his testicles are wrapped together. | Hãy giương cặp mắt hạ nhục phường kiêu hãnh,và đập tan tại chỗ bọn ác nhân. | ἔστησεν οὐρὰν ὡς κυπάρισσον, τὰ δὲ νεῦρα αὐτοῦ συμπέπλεκται· | רְאֵ֣ה כָל גֵּ֭אֶה הַכְנִיעֵ֑הוּ וַהֲדֹ֖ךְ רְשָׁעִ֣ים תַּחְתָּֽם | Stringit caudam suam quasi cedrum; nervi testiculorum ejus perplexi sunt. | Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. |
| 13 | His bones are like pipes of brass, his gristle like plates of iron. | Hãy đem cả bọn vùi dưới cát,giam hết cả lũ trong nhà tù. | αἱ πλευραὶ αὐτοῦ πλευραὶ χάλκειαι, ἡ δὲ ῥάχις αὐτοῦ σίδηρος χυτός. | טָמְנֵ֣ם בֶּעָפָ֣ר יָ֑חַד פְּ֝נֵיהֶ֗ם חֲבֹ֣שׁ בַּטָּמֽוּן | Ossa ejus velut fistulæ æris; cartilago illius quasi laminæ ferreæ. | Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. |
| 14 | He is the beginning of the ways of God, who made him, he will apply his sword. | Bấy giờ chính Ta sẽ ca tụng ngươi,vì tay phải ngươi sẽ giúp ngươi chiến thắng. | τοῦτ᾽ ἔστιν ἀρχὴ πλάσματος Κυρίου, πεποιημένον ἐνκαταπαίζεσθαι ὑπὸ τῶν ἀγγέλων αὐτοῦ. | וְגַם אֲנִ֥י אוֹדֶ֑ךָּ כִּֽי תוֹשִׁ֖עַ לְךָ֣ יְמִינֶֽךָ | Ipse est principium viarum Dei: qui fecit eum applicabit gladium ejus. | Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you. |
| 15 | To him the mountains bring forth grass: there all the beasts of the field shall play. | Kìa xem con thú Bơ-hê-mốt,Ta dựng nên nó như đã dựng nên ngươi, nó ăn cỏ như bò. | ἐπελθὼν δὲ ἐπ᾽ ὄρος ἀκρότομον ἐποίησεν χαρμονὴν τετράποσιν ἐν τῷ ταρτάρῳ· | הִנֵּה נָ֣א בְ֭הֵמוֹת אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂ֣יתִי עִמָּ֑ךְ חָ֝צִ֗יר כַּבָּקָ֥ר יֹאכֵֽל | Huic montes herbas ferunt: omnes bestiæ agri ludent ibi. | “See now behemoth, which I made as well as you. He eats grass as an ox. |
| 16 | He sleepeth under the shadow, in the covert of the reed, and in moist places. | Hãy nhìn nó đi: lưng mạnh mẽ, bụng rắn chắc, | ὑπὸ παντοδαπὰ δένδρα κοιμᾶται, παρὰ πάπυρον καὶ κάλαμον καὶ βούτομον· | הִנֵּה נָ֣א כֹח֣וֹ בְמָתְנָ֑יו וְ֝אֹנ֗וֹ בִּשְׁרִירֵ֥י בִטְנֽוֹ | Sub umbra dormit in secreto calami, et in locis humentibus. | Look now, his strength is in his thighs. His force is in the muscles of his belly. |
| 17 | The shades cover his shadow, the willows of the brook shall compass him about. | đuôi vươn dài tựa cây bá hương, gân đùi quấn chằng chịt, | σκιάζονται δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ δένδρα μεγάλα σὺν ῥαδάμνοις, καὶ κλῶνες ἀγροῦ. | יַחְפֹּ֣ץ זְנָב֣וֹ כְמוֹ אָ֑רֶז גִּידֵ֖י פחדו פַחֲדָ֣יו יְשֹׂרָֽגוּ | Protegunt umbræ umbram ejus: circumdabunt eum salices torrentis. | He moves his tail like a cedar. The sinews of his thighs are knit together. |
| 18 | Behold, he will drink up a river, and not wonder: and he trusteth that the Jordan may run into his mouth. | xương cốt tựa ống đồng, tứ chi như thanh sắt. | ἐὰν γένηται πλήμμυρα, οὐ μὴ αἰσθηθῇ, πέποιθεν ὅτι προσκρούσει ὁ Ἰορδάνης εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ· | עֲ֭צָמָיו אֲפִיקֵ֣י נְחוּשָׁ֑ה גְּ֝רָמָ֗יו כִּמְטִ֥יל בַּרְזֶֽל | Ecce absorbebit fluvium, et non mirabitur, et habet fiduciam quod influat Jordanis in os ejus. | His bones are like tubes of bronze. His limbs are like bars of iron. |
| 19 | In his eyes as with a hook he shall take him, and bore through his nostrils with stakes. | Nó quả là tác phẩm tuyệt vờitrong các công trình Thiên Chúa dựng nên;nhưng Đấng Sáng Tạo lại trao gươm cho nó, | ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ αὐτοῦ δέξεται αὐτόν; ἐνσκολιευόμενος τρήσει ῥῖνα; | ה֭וּא רֵאשִׁ֣ית דַּרְכֵי אֵ֑ל הָ֝עֹשׂוֹ יַגֵּ֥שׁ חַרְבּֽוֹ | In oculis ejus quasi hamo capiet eum, et in sudibus perforabit nares ejus. | He is the chief of the ways of God. He who made him gives him his sword. |
| 20 | Canst thou draw out the leviathan with a hook, or canst thou tie his tongue with a cord? | vì núi non cung cấp cho nó cỏ ănvà mọi dã thú nô đùa ở đó. | ἄξεις δὲ δράκοντα ἐν ἀγκίστρῳ, ⸂⸆⸃ περιθήσεις δὲ φορβεὰν περὶ ῥῖνα αὐτοῦ; | כִּֽי ב֭וּל הָרִ֣ים יִשְׂאוּ ל֑וֹ וְֽכָל חַיַּ֥ת הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה יְשַֽׂחֲקוּ שָֽׁם | An extrahere poteris Leviathan hamo, et fune ligabis linguam ejus? | Surely the mountains produce food for him, where all the animals of the field play. |
| 21 | Canst thou put a ring in his nose, or bore through his jaw with a buckle? | Nó nằm dưới đám sen, trong lùm sậy, dưới đầm lầy. | εἰ δήσεις κρίκον ἐν τῷ μυκτῆρι αὐτοῦ, ψελίῳ δὲ τρυπήσεις τὸ χεῖλος αὐτοῦ; | תַּֽחַת צֶאֱלִ֥ים יִשְׁכָּ֑ב בְּסֵ֖תֶר קָנֶ֣ה וּבִצָּֽה | Numquid pones circulum in naribus ejus, aut armilla perforabis maxillam ejus? | He lies under the lotus trees, in the covert of the reed, and the marsh. |
| 22 | Will he make many supplications to thee, or speak soft words to thee? | Nó được sen lấy bóng chở che,và liễu ven suối rủ ngành bao bọc. | λαλήσει δέ σοι δεήσει, ἱκετηρίᾳ μαλακῶς; | יְסֻכֻּ֣הוּ צֶאֱלִ֣ים צִֽלֲל֑וֹ יְ֝סֻבּ֗וּהוּ עַרְבֵי נָֽחַל | Numquid multiplicabit ad te preces, aut loquetur tibi mollia? | The lotuses cover him with their shade. The willows of the brook surround him. |
| 23 | Will he make a covenant with thee, and wilt thou take him to be a servant for ever? | Này, sông có tràn bờ, nó cũng không nao núng,sông Gio-đan có dâng lên tới mõm, nó vẫn cứ thản nhiên. | θήσεται διαθήκην μετὰ σοῦ; λήμψῃ δὲ αὐτὸν δοῦλον αἰώνιον; | הֵ֤ן יַעֲשֹׁ֣ק נָ֭הָר לֹ֣א יַחְפּ֑וֹז יִבְטַ֓ח כִּֽי יָגִ֖יחַ יַרְדֵּ֣ן אֶל פִּֽיהוּ | Numquid feriet tecum pactum, et accipies eum servum sempiternum? | Behold, if a river overflows, he doesn’t tremble. He is confident, though the Jordan swells even to his mouth. |
| 24 | Shalt thou play with him as with a bird, or tie him up for thy handmaids? | Ai có thể chộp được mắt nóvà lấy giáo xiên thủng mũi nó được? | παίξῃ δὲ ἐν αὐτῷ ὥσπερ ὀρνέῳ, ἢ δήσεις αὐτὸν ὥσπερ στρουθίον παιδίῳ; | בְּעֵינָ֥יו יִקָּחֶ֑נּוּ בְּ֝מֽוֹקְשִׁ֗ים יִנְקָב אָֽף | Numquid illudes ei quasi avi, aut ligabis eum ancillis tuis? | Shall any take him when he is on the watch, or pierce through his nose with a snare? |
