| 1 | Therefore, my dearly beloved brethren, and most desired, my joy and my crown; so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. | Bởi vậy, hỡi anh em thân mến lòng tôi hằng tưởng nhớ, anh em là niềm vui, là vinh dự của tôi. | 5 | Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. |
| 6 | Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. | Anh em đừng lo lắng gì cả, nhưng trong mọi hoàn cảnh, anh em cứ đem lời cầu khẩn, van xin và tạ ơn, mà giãi bày trước mặt Thiên Chúa những điều anh em thỉnh nguyện. | μηδὲν μεριμνᾶτε, ἀλλ’ ἐν παντὶ τῇ προσευχῇ καὶ τῇ δεήσει μετ’ εὐχαριστίας τὰ αἰτήματα ὑμῶν γνωριζέσθω πρὸς τὸν θεόν· | Nihil solliciti sitis: sed in omni oratione, et obsecratione, cum gratiarum actione petitiones vestræ innotescant apud Deum. | In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. |

| 9 | The things which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, these do ye, and the God of peace shall be with you. | Những gì anh em đã học hỏi, đã lãnh nhận, đã nghe, đã thấy ở nơi tôi, thì hãy đem ra thực hành, và Thiên Chúa là nguồn bình an sẽ ở với anh em. | ἃ καὶ ἐμάθετε καὶ παρελάβετε καὶ ἠκούσατε καὶ εἴδετε ἐν ἐμοί, ταῦτα πράσσετε· καὶ ὁ θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ἔσται μεθ’ ὑμῶν. | Quæ et didicistis, et accepistis, et audistis, et vidistis in me, hæc agite: et Deus pacis erit vobiscum. | Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you. |

Tình cảm đó vẫn sống động, nhưng anh em chỉ thiếu dịp tỏ ra. | Ἐχάρην δὲ ἐν κυρίῳ μεγάλως ὅτι ἤδη ποτὲ ἀνεθάλετε τὸ ὑπὲρ ἐμοῦ φρονεῖν, ἐφ’ ᾧ καὶ ἐφρονεῖτε ἠκαιρεῖσθε δέ. | Gavisus sum autem in Domino vehementer, quoniam tandem aliquando refloruistis pro me sentire, sicut et sentiebatis: occupati autem eratis. | But I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your thought for me; in which you did indeed take thought, but you lacked opportunity. |
| 11 | I speak not as it were for want. For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content therewith. | Không phải vì thiếu thốn mà tôi nói thế, bởi lẽ tôi đã học sống tự lập trong bất cứ hoàn cảnh nào. | οὐχ ὅτι καθ’ ὑστέρησιν λέγω, ἐγὼ γὰρ ἔμαθον ἐν οἷς εἰμι αὐτάρκης εἶναι· | Non quasi propter penuriam dico: ego enim didici, in quibus sum, sufficiens esse. | Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. |
| 12 | I know both how to be brought low, and I know how to abound: (everywhere, and in all things I am instructed) both to be full, and to be hungry; both to abound, and to suffer need. | Tôi sống thiếu thốn cũng được, mà sống dư dật cũng được. Trong mọi hoàn cảnh, no hay đói, dư dật hay túng bấn, tôi đã tập quen cả. | οἶδα καὶ ταπεινοῦσθαι, οἶδα καὶ περισσεύειν· ἐν παντὶ καὶ ἐν πᾶσιν μεμύημαι, καὶ χορτάζεσθαι καὶ πεινᾶν, καὶ περισσεύειν καὶ ὑστερεῖσθαι· | Scio et humiliari, scio et abundare (ubique et in omnibus institutus sum): et satiari, et esurire, et abundare, et penuriam pati. | I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. |
| 13 | I can do all these things in him who strengtheneth me. | Với Đấng ban sức mạnh cho tôi, tôi chịu được hết. | πάντα ἰσχύω ἐν τῷ ἐνδυναμοῦντί ⸀με. | Omnia possum in eo qui me confortat. | I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. |

| 15 | And you also know, O Philippians, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but you only: | Chính anh em, những người thành Phi-líp-phê, anh em biết là trong giai đoạn tôi bắt đầu rao giảng Tin Mừng, lúc rời khỏi Ma-kê-đô-ni-a, không một Hội Thánh nào đã đóng góp vào các khoản chi thu của tôi, chỉ có anh em thôi; | Οἴδατε δὲ καὶ ὑμεῖς, Φιλιππήσιοι, ὅτι ἐν ἀρχῇ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου, ὅτε ἐξῆλθον ἀπὸ Μακεδονίας, οὐδεμία μοι ἐκκλησία ἐκοινώνησεν εἰς λόγον δόσεως καὶ λήμψεως εἰ μὴ ὑμεῖς μόνοι, | Scitis autem et vos Philippenses, quod in principio Evangelii, quando profectus sum a Macedonia, nulla mihi ecclesia communicavit in ratione dati et accepti, nisi vos soli: | You yourselves also know, you Philippians, that in the beginning of the Good News, when I departed from Macedonia, no assembly shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving but you only. |
| 16 | For unto Thessalonica also you sent once and again for my use. | bởi vì ngay khi tôi còn ở Thê-xa-lô-ni-ca, đôi lần anh em đã gửi cho tôi những gì tôi cần dùng. | ὅτι καὶ ἐν Θεσσαλονίκῃ καὶ ἅπαξ καὶ δὶς εἰς τὴν χρείαν μοι ἐπέμψατε. | quia et Thessalonicam semel et bis in usum mihi misistis. | For even in Thessalonica you sent once and again to my need. |
| 17 | Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that may abound to your account. | Điều tôi tìm kiếm không phải là quà tặng, mà là những gì sinh hoa kết quả dồi dào cho anh em. | οὐχ ὅτι ἐπιζητῶ τὸ δόμα, ἀλλὰ ἐπιζητῶ τὸν καρπὸν τὸν πλεονάζοντα εἰς λόγον ὑμῶν. | Non quia quæro datum, sed requiro fructum abundantem in ratione vestra. | Not that I seek for the gift, but I seek for the fruit that increases to your account. |
| 18 | But I have all, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things you sent, an odour of sweetness, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. | Tôi có đủ mọi thứ cần dùng, lại còn dư dật nữa là khác. Tôi rất đầy đủ, kể từ khi nhận được những gì anh em gửi đến tôi qua tay anh Ê-páp-rô-đi-tô. Quà anh em tặng cho tôi đó, chẳng khác nào hương thơm, lễ vật đẹp lòng Thiên Chúa và được Người chấp nhận. | ἀπέχω δὲ πάντα καὶ περισσεύω· πεπλήρωμαι δεξάμενος παρὰ Ἐπαφροδίτου τὰ παρ’ ὑμῶν, ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας, θυσίαν δεκτήν, εὐάρεστον τῷ θεῷ. | Habeo autem omnia, et abundo: repletus sum, acceptis ab Epaphrodito quæ misistis odorem suavitatis, hostiam acceptam, placentem Deo. | But I have all things and abound. I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, a sweet-smelling fragrance, an acceptable and well-pleasing sacrifice to God. |
| 19 | And may my God supply all your want, according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. | Thiên Chúa của tôi sẽ thoả mãn mọi nhu cầu của anh em một cách tuyệt vời, theo sự giàu sang của Người trong Đức Ki-tô Giê-su. | ὁ δὲ θεός μου πληρώσει πᾶσαν χρείαν ὑμῶν κατὰ ⸂τὸ πλοῦτος⸃ αὐτοῦ ἐν δόξῃ ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ. | Deus autem meus impleat omne desiderium vestrum secundum divitias suas in gloria in Christo Jesu. | My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. |
| 20 | Now to God and our Father be glory world without end. Amen. | Xin tôn vinh Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng ta, đến muôn thuở muôn đời! Các anh em đang ở với tôi gửi lời chào anh em. | Ἀσπάσασθε πάντα ἅγιον ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ. ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ σὺν ἐμοὶ ἀδελφοί. | Salutate omnem sanctum in Christo Jesu. | Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. |
| 22 | The brethren who are with me, salute you. All the saints salute you; especially they that are of Caesar’s household. | Mọi người thuộc dân thánh, nhất là những người phục vụ trong cung điện hoàng đế Xê-da, cũng gửi lời chào anh em. | ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς πάντες οἱ ἅγιοι, μάλιστα δὲ οἱ ἐκ τῆς Καίσαρος οἰκίας. | Salutant vos, qui mecum sunt, fratres. Salutant vos omnes sancti, maxime autem qui de Cæsaris domo sunt. | All the saints greet you, especially those who are of Caesar’s household. |
