Thy words have confirmed them that were staggering, and thou hast strengthened the trembling knees: | Người lảo đảo mà đứng vững được là nhờ lời anh.Cũng nhờ anh mà đầu gối lung lay thành cứng cáp. | Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
But now the scourge is come upon thee, and thou faintest: it hath touched thee, and thou art troubled. | But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
Where is thy fear, thy fortitude, thy patience, and the perfection of thy ways? | Chẳng lẽ lòng kính sợ của anh không làm anh tin tưởng,và cuộc sống vẹn toàn chẳng giúp anh hy vọng hay sao? | Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished being innocent? or when were the just destroyed? | Xin anh nhớ kỹ: Có ai vô tội mà phải tiêu vong?Có nơi nào người công chính lại bị huỷ diệt? | “Remember, now, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
On the contrary I have seen those who work iniquity, and sow sorrows, and reap them, | Điều tôi thấy rành rànhlà những người vun trồng tội ác và gieo tai rắc hoạcuối cùng chỉ gặt lấy hoạ tai. | כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר רָ֭אִיתִי חֹ֣רְשֵׁי אָ֑וֶן וְזֹרְעֵ֖י עָמָ֣ל יִקְצְרֻֽהוּ | Quin potius vidi eos qui operantur iniquitatem, et seminant dolores, et metunt eos, | According to what I have seen, those who plow iniquity and sow trouble, reap the same.

Now there was a word spoken to me in private, and my ears by stealth as it were received the veins of its whisper. πότερον οὐ δέξεταί μου τὸ οὖς ἐξαίσια παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ; | וְ֭אֵלַי דָּבָ֣ר יְגֻנָּ֑ב וַתִּקַּ֥ח אָ֝זְנִ֗י שֵׁ֣מֶץ מֶֽנְהֽוּ | Porro ad me dictum est verbum absconditum, et quasi furtive suscepit auris mea venas susurri ejus. | “Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.
In the horror of a vision by night, when deep sleep is wont to hold men, | Sau những thị kiến ban đêm,giữa những cơn ác mộng,khi một giấc ngủ mê ập xuống trên người phàm, | φόβος δὲ καὶ ἠχὼ νυκτερινή, ἐπιπίπτων φόβος ἐπ᾽ ἀνθρώπους, | בִּ֭שְׂעִפִּים מֵחֶזְיֹנ֣וֹת לָ֑יְלָה בִּנְפֹ֥ל תַּ֝רְדֵּמָ֗ה עַל אֲנָשִֽׁים | In horrore visionis nocturnæ, quando solet sopor occupare homines, | In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,
Fear seized upon me, and trembling, and all my bones were affrighted: | thì một nỗi kinh hoàng run sợ xâm chiếm con người tôi,khiến xương cốt tôi rụng rời kinh hãi. | φρίκη μοι συνήντησεν καὶ τρόμος, καὶ μεγάλως μου τὰ ὀστᾶ διέσεισεν, | פַּ֣חַד קְ֭רָאַנִי וּרְעָדָ֑ה וְרֹ֖ב עַצְמוֹתַ֣י הִפְחִֽיד | pavor tenuit me, et tremor, et omnia ossa mea perterrita sunt; | fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.
And when a spirit passed before me, the hair of my flesh stood up. | Một làn gió lướt qua mặt tôi làm tôi nổi gai ốc. | וְ֭רוּחַ עַל פָּנַ֣י יַחֲלֹ֑ף תְּ֝סַמֵּ֗ר שַֽׂעֲרַ֥ת בְּשָׂרִֽי | et cum spiritus, me præsente, transiret, inhorruerunt pili carnis meæ. | Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.
There stood one whose countenance I knew not, an image before my eyes, and I heard the voice as it were of a gentle wind: | Kìa có ai đứng đó, sừng sững trước mặt tôi,hình dáng trông không rõ.Một thoáng thinh lặng... rồi tôi nghe tiếng nói: | ἀνέστην, καὶ οὐκ ἐπέγνων· ἴδον, καὶ οὐκ ἦν μορφὴ πρὸ ὀφθαλμῶν μου, ἀλλ᾽ ἢ αὔραν καὶ φωνὴν ἤκουον | יַעֲמֹ֤ד וְֽלֹא אַכִּ֬יר מַרְאֵ֗הוּ תְּ֭מוּנָה לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָ֑י דְּמָמָ֖ה וָק֣וֹל אֶשְׁמָֽע | Stetit quidam, cujus non agnoscebam vultum, imago coram oculis meis, et vocem quasi auræ lenis audivi. | It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,
Shall man be justified in comparison of God, or shall a man be more pure than his maker? | ‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?

He charges his angels with error. |
How much more shall they that dwell in houses of clay, who have an earthly foundation, be consumed as with the moth? | אַ֤ף שֹׁכְנֵ֬י בָֽתֵּי חֹ֗מֶר אֲשֶׁר בֶּעָפָ֥ר יְסוֹדָ֑ם יְ֝דַכְּא֗וּם לִפְנֵי עָֽשׁ | quanto magis hi qui habitant domos luteas, qui terrenum habent fundamentum, consumentur velut a tinea? | How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!

They perish forever without any regarding it. |
And they that shall be left, shall be taken away from them: they shall die, and not in wisdom. | הֲלֹא נִסַּ֣ע יִתְרָ֣ם בָּ֑ם יָ֝מ֗וּתוּ וְלֹ֣א בְחָכְמָֽה | Qui autem reliqui fuerint, auferentur ex eis; morientur, et non in sapientia.] | Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
