And Eliu continued his discourse, and said:Ông Ê-li-hu lên tiếng nói:Ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ἐλιοῦς λέγειוַיַּ֥עַן אֱלִיה֗וּא וַיֹּאמַֽר
Hear ye, wise men, my words, and ye learned, hearken to me:Hỡi các nhà khôn ngoan, xin nghe lời tôi nói,hỡi các bậc thông thái, xin vui lòng lắng tai:Ἀκούσατέ μου, σοφοί· ἐπιστάμενοι, ἐνωτίζεσθε·שִׁמְע֣וּ חֲכָמִ֣ים מִלָּ֑י וְ֝יֹדְעִ֗ים הַאֲזִ֥ינוּ לִֽי[Audite, sapientes, verba mea: et eruditi, auscultate me.“Hear my words, you wise men. Give ear to me, you who have knowledge.
For the ear trieth words, and the mouth discerneth meats by the taste.vì như tai thẩm định lời lẽ, và như lưỡi thưởng thức món ăn,ὅτι οὖς λόγους δοκιμάζει, καὶ λάρυγξ γεύεται βρῶσιν. For the ear tries words, as the palate tastes food.
Let us choose to us judgment, and let us see among ourselves what is the best.thì chúng ta hãy phân biệt điều nào là phảivà điều nào là tốt giữa chúng ta.κρίσιν ἑλώμεθα ἑαυτοῖς, γνῶμεν ἀνὰ μέσον ἑαυτῶν ὅ τι καλόν. Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
For Job hath said: I am just, and God hath overthrown my judgment. Quia dixit Job: Justus sum, et Deus subvertit judicium meum. For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, God has taken away my right.
For in judging me there is a lie: my arrow is violent without any sin.tôi ăn ở chính trực mà lại bị coi là dối trá,tôi bị bắn trọng thương mặc dù không phạm tội.”ἐψεύσατο δὲ τῷ κρίματί μου· βίαιον τὸ βέλος μου ἄνευ ἀδικίας. In judicando enim me mendacium est: violenta sagitta mea absque ullo peccato.Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’
What man is there like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water?Ai là người can đảm như ông Giópuống lời chế nhạo như nước lã,τίς ἀνὴρ ὥσπερ Ἰώβ, πίνων μυκτηρισμὸν ὥσπερ ὕδωρ;מִי גֶ֥בֶר כְּאִיּ֑וֹב יִֽשְׁתֶּה לַּ֥עַג כַּמָּֽיִם What man is like Job, who drinks scorn like water,
Who goeth in company with them that work iniquity, and walketh with wicked men?đồng hành với bọn làm điều bất côngvà cùng đi với phường gian ác?οὐχ ἁμαρτὼν οὐδὲ ἀσεβήσας, ἢ ὁδοῦ κοινωνήσας μετὰ ποιούντων τὰ ἄνομα, τοῦ πορευθῆναι μετὰ ἀσεβῶν.וְאָרַ֣ח לְ֭חֶבְרָה עִם פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן וְ֝לָלֶ֗כֶת עִם אַנְשֵׁי רֶֽשַׁעqui graditur cum operantibus iniquitatem, et ambulat cum viris impiis?who goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men?
For he hath said: Man shall not please God, although he run with him.Ông ấy nói: Người ta chẳng được lợi gìkhi sống thân tình với Thiên Chúa!μὴ γὰρ εἴπῃς ὅτι Οὐκ ἔσται ἐπισκοπὴ ἀνδρός· καὶ ἐπισκοπὴ αὐτῷ παρὰ Κυρίου. For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.’
Therefore, ye men of understanding, hear me: far from god be wickedness, and iniquity from the Almighty.Vì thế, hỡi những người biết phân biệt phải trái,xin nghe tôi: không đời nào Thiên Chúa làm sự dữ,Đấng Toàn Năng chẳng làm chuyện bất công bao giờ!διό, Ideo, viri cordati, audite me: absit a Deo impietas, et ab Omnipotente iniquitas.“Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness, from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
For he will render to a man his work, and according to the ways of every one he will reward them. For the work of a man he will give to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
For in very deed God will not condemn without cause, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment. Yes surely, God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
What other hath he appointed over the earth? or whom hath he set over the world which he made? Who put him in charge of the earth? Or who has appointed him over the whole world?
If he turn his heart to him, he shall draw his spirit and breath unto himself.Nếu Người muốn rút sinh khí lại và quy tụ hơi thở về mình,εἰ γὰρ βούλοιτο συνέχειν, καὶ τὸ πνεῦμα παρ᾽ αὐτῷ κατασχεῖν,אִם יָשִׂ֣ים אֵלָ֣יו לִבּ֑וֹ רוּח֥וֹ וְ֝נִשְׁמָת֗וֹ אֵלָ֥יו יֶאֱסֹֽף If he set his heart on himself, if he gathered to himself his spirit and his breath,
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return into ashes.thì mọi sinh vật sẽ tắt thở cùng một lúcvà phàm nhân sẽ trở về cát bụi.τελευτήσει πᾶσα σὰρξ ὁμοθυμαδόν, πᾶς δὲ βροτὸς εἰς γῆν ἀπελεύσεται ὅθεν καὶ ἐπλάσθη. Deficiet omnis caro simul, et homo in cinerem revertetur.all flesh would perish together, and man would turn again to dust.
If then thou hast understanding, hear what is said, and hearken to the voice of my words.Nếu ông là người hiểu biết, xin hãy nghe điều này,xin lắng tai nghe lời tôi nói đây.εἰ δὲ μὴ νουθετῇ, ἄκουε ταῦτα, ἐνωτίζου φωνὴν ῥημάτων. Si habes ergo intellectum, audi quod dicitur, et ausculta vocem eloquii mei:“If now you have understanding, hear this. Listen to the voice of my words.
Can he be healed that loveth not judgment? and how dost thou so far condemn him that is just? הַאַ֬ף שׂוֹנֵ֣א מִשְׁפָּ֣ט יַחֲב֑וֹשׁ וְאִם צַדִּ֖יק כַּבִּ֣יר תַּרְשִֽׁיעַnumquid qui non amat judicium sanari potest? et quomodo tu eum qui justus est in tantum condemnas?Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,
Who saith to the king: Thou art an apostate: who calleth rulers ungodly? Qui dicit regi: Apostata; qui vocat duces impios;who says to a king, ‘Vile!’ or to nobles, ‘Wicked!’?
Who accepteth not the persons of princes: nor hath regarded the tyrant, when he contended against the poor man: for all are the work of his hands.Người không về phe với hàng thủ lãnh,không trọng người giàu, khinh kẻ nghèo,vì tất cả đều là công trình do tay Người tạo tác.ὃς οὐκ ἐπαισχυνθῇ πρόσωπον ἐντίμου, οὐδὲ οἶδεν τιμὴν θέσθαι ἁδροῖς, θαυμασθῆναι πρόσωπα αὐτῶν. He doesn’t respect the persons of princes, nor respect the rich more than the poor, for they all are the work of his hands.
They shall suddenly die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and they shall pass, and take away the violent without hand.Nửa đêm, họ lăn ra chết bất thình lình,dân chúng nổi dậy và họ phải tiêu vong,chẳng cần ai ra tay mà bạo chúa vẫn bị loại bỏ.κενὰ δὲ αὐτοῖς ἀποβήσεται τὸ κεκραγέναι καὶ δεῖσθαι ἀνδρός· ἐχρήσαντο γὰρ παρανόμως, ἐκκλινομένων ἀδυνάτων.רֶ֤גַע יָמֻתוּ֮ וַחֲצ֪וֹת לָ֥יְלָה יְגֹעֲשׁ֣וּ עָ֣ם וְיַעֲבֹ֑רוּ וְיָסִ֥ירוּ אַ֝בִּ֗יר לֹ֣א בְיָֽדSubito morientur, et in media nocte turbabuntur populi: et pertransibunt, et auferent violentum absque manu.In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away. The mighty are taken away without a hand.
For his eyes are upon the ways of men, and he considereth all their steps. Oculi enim ejus super vias hominum, et omnes gressus eorum considerat.“For his eyes are on the ways of a man. He sees all his goings.
There is no darkness, and there is no shadow of death, where they may be hid who work iniquity.Bóng tối có dày đặc đến đâucũng không thể làm nơi ẩn núp cho phường gian ác.οὐδὲ ἔσται τόπος τοῦ κρυβῆναι τοὺς ποιοῦντας τὰ ἄνομα·אֵֽין חֹ֭שֶׁךְ וְאֵ֣ין צַלְמָ֑וֶת לְהִסָּ֥תֶר שָׁ֝֗ם פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָֽוֶןNon sunt tenebræ, et non est umbra mortis, ut abscondantur ibi qui operantur iniquitatem,There is no darkness, nor thick gloom, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
For it is no longer in the power of man to enter into judgment with God.Vì Thiên Chúa không hề ấn địnhnơi phàm nhân phải đến để hầu toà.ὅτι οὐκ ἐπ᾽ ἄνδρα θήσει ἔτι. For he doesn’t need to consider a man further, that he should go before God in judgment.
He shall break in pieces many and innumerable, and shall make others to stand in their stead. He breaks mighty men in pieces in ways past finding out, and sets others in their place.
For he knoweth their works: and therefore he shall bring night on them, and they shall be destroyed. Therefore he takes knowledge of their works. He overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
He hath struck them, as being wicked, in open sight.Như phường tội lỗi, chúng bị Người bạt taigiữa thanh thiên bạch nhật.ἔσβεσεν δὲ ἀσεβεῖς, ὁρατοὶ δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ·תַּֽחַת רְשָׁעִ֥ים סְפָקָ֗ם בִּמְק֥וֹם רֹאִֽיםQuasi impios percussit eos in loco videntium:He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
Who as it were on purpose have revolted from him, and would not understand all his ways:Chỉ vì chúng đã chẳng đi theo Người,không chủ tâm theo đường Người vạch sãn,ὅτι ἐξέκλιναν ἐκ νόμου θεοῦ, δικαιώματα δὲ αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν,אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל כֵּ֭ן סָ֣רוּ מֵֽאַחֲרָ֑יו וְכָל דְּ֝רָכָ֗יו לֹ֣א הִשְׂכִּֽילוּqui quasi de industria recesserunt ab eo, et omnes vias ejus intelligere noluerunt:because they turned away from following him, and wouldn’t pay attention to any of his ways,
So that they caused the cry of the needy to come to him, and he heard the voice of the poor.khiến cho tiếng kêu của những kẻ hèn yếu,của những kẻ khốn cùngđã vọng lên tới Chúa, và Người đã lắng nghe.τοῦ ἐπαγαγεῖν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὸν κραυγὴν πενήτων, καὶ κραυγὴν πτωχῶν εἰσακούσεται.לְהָבִ֣יא עָ֭לָיו צַֽעֲקַת דָּ֑ל וְצַעֲקַ֖ת עֲנִיִּ֣ים יִשְׁמָֽעut pervenire facerent ad eum clamorem egeni, et audiret vocem pauperum.so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him. He heard the cry of the afflicted.
For when he granteth peace, who is there that can condemn? When he hideth his countenance, who is there that can behold him, whether it regard nations, or all men? When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? When he hides his face, who then can see him? He is over a nation or a man alike,
Who maketh a man that is a hypocrite to reign for the sins of the people?không để cho kẻ gian ác cầm quyền,chẳng để cho ai đưa dân vào bẫy.βασιλεύων ἄνθρωπον ὑποκριτὴν ἀπὸ δυσκολίας λαοῦ. Qui regnare facit hominem hypocritam propter peccata populi.that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.
Seeing then I have spoken of God, I will not hinder thee in thy turn. Quia ergo ego locutus sum ad Deum, te quoque non prohibebo.“For has any said to God, ‘I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.
If I have erred, teach thou me: if I have spoken iniquity, I will add no more. Teach me that which I don’t see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?
Doth God require it of thee, because it hath displeased thee? for thou begannest to speak, and not I: but if thou know any thing better, speak.Vậy theo ông nghĩ, liệu Người có trừng phạt hay không?Tôi biết ông chẳng thiết tha gì,nhưng chính ông phải chọn, chứ không phải tôi;vì thế, ông biết được điều gì, xin cứ nói.μὴ ἀπὸ σοῦ ἀποτίσει αὐτήν, ὅτι ἀπώσῃ; ὅτι σὺ ἐκλέξῃ καὶ οὐκ ἐγώ· καὶ τί ἔγνως λάλησον.הַֽמֵעִמְּךָ֬ יְשַׁלְמֶ֨נָּה כִּֽי מָאַ֗סְתָּ כִּי אַתָּ֣ה תִבְחַ֣ר וְלֹא אָ֑נִי וּֽמַה יָדַ֥עְתָּ דַבֵּֽרNumquid a te Deus expetit eam, quia displicuit tibi? tu enim cœpisti loqui, et non ego: quod si quid nosti melius, loquere.Shall his recompense be as you desire, that you refuse it? For you must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what you know.
Let men of understanding speak to me, and let a wise man hearken to me.Những người biết điều hay lẽ phảicũng như các bậc khôn ngoan đang nghe tôi,tất cả đều sẽ nói:διὸ συνετοὶ καρδίας ἐροῦσιν ταῦτα, ἀνὴρ δὲ σοφὸς ἀκήκοέν μου τὸ ῥῆμα. Viri intelligentes loquantur mihi, et vir sapiens audiat me.Men of understanding will tell me, yes, every wise man who hears me:
But Job hath spoken foolishly, and his words sound not discipline.“Ông Gióp này ham nói mà chẳng hiểu gì,lời lẽ của ông chẳng khôn ngoan gì cả.Ἰὼβ δὲ οὐκ ἐν συνέσει ἐλάλησεν, τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐν ἐπιστήμῃ. His words are without wisdom.’
My father, let Job be tried even to the end: cease not from the man of iniquity. Pater mi, probetur Job usque ad finem: ne desinas ab homine iniquitatis:I wish that Job were tried to the end, because of his answering like wicked men.
Because he addeth blasphemy upon his sins, let him be tied fast in the mean time amongst us: and then let him provoke God to judgment with his speeches.đã phạm bao tội lỗi, ông lại còn bất trung,nhìn chúng ta, ông vỗ tay cười nhạovà gia tăng lời chống báng Thiên Chúa.”ἵνα μὴ προσθῶμεν ἐφ᾽ ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν, ἀνομία δὲ ἐφ᾽ ἡμῖν λογισθήσεται, πολλὰ λαλούντων ῥήματα ἐναντίον τοῦ κυρίου.כִּ֥י יֹ֘סִ֤יף עַֽל חַטָּאת֣וֹ פֶ֭שַׁע בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ יִסְפּ֑וֹק וְיֶ֖רֶב אֲמָרָ֣יו לָאֵֽלquia addit super peccata sua blasphemiam, inter nos interim constringatur: et tunc ad judicium provocet sermonibus suis Deum.]For he adds rebellion to his sin. He claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.”
