Hear therefore, O Job, my speeches, and hearken to all my words.Này ông Gióp, xin nghe tôi ngỏ lời,xin lắng nghe mọi lời lẽ của tôi.οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ ἄκουσον, Ἰώβ, τὰ ῥήματά μου, καὶ λαλιὰν ἐνωτίζου μου·וְֽאוּלָ֗ם שְׁמַֽע נָ֣א אִיּ֣וֹב מִלָּ֑י וְֽכָל דְּבָרַ֥י הַאֲזִֽינָה[Audi igitur, Job, eloquia mea, et omnes sermones meos ausculta.“However, Job, please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
Behold now I have opened my mouth, let my tongue speak within my jaws. Ecce aperui os meum: loquatur lingua mea in faucibus meis.See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
My words are from my upright heart, and my lips shall speak a pure sentence.Lòng dạ ngay thẳng của tôi trào ra lời uyên bác,môi miệng tôi nói lên chân lý tinh tuyền.καθαρά μου ἡ καρδία ῥήμασιν, σύνεσις δὲ χειλέων μου καθαρὰ νοήσει. My words will utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they will speak sincerely.
The spirit of God made me, and the breath of the Almighty gave me life. Spiritus Dei fecit me, et spiraculum Omnipotentis vivificavit me.The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
If thou canst, answer me, and stand up against my face.Nếu có thể, ông trả lời tôi xem,cứ phi bác tôi và giữ vững lập trường.ἐὰν δύνῃ, δός μοι ἀπόκρισιν πρὸς ταῦτα· ὑπόμεινον, στῆθι κατ᾽ ἐμὲ καὶ ἐγὼ κατὰ σέ. If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand up.
Behold God hath made me as well as thee, and of the same clay I also was formed.Này, đối với Thiên Chúa, tôi đây cũng như ông,tôi được nắn ra từ đất sét.ἐκ πηλοῦ διήρτισαι σὺ ὡς καὶ ἐγώ· ἐκ τοῦ αὐτοῦ διηρτίσμεθα. Behold, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
But yet let not my wonder terrify thee, and let not my eloquence be burdensome to thee.Sự kinh hoàng của tôi không làm ông sợ hãivà tay tôi không đè nặng trên ông.οὐχ ὁ φόβος μού σε στροβήσει, οὐδὲ ἡ χείρ μου βαρεῖα ἔσται ἐπὶ σοί. Behold, my terror will not make you afraid, neither will my pressure be heavy on you.
Now thou has said in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words:Ông đã nói rõ vào tai tôi,tôi vẫn còn nghe văng vẳng lời ông nói:πλὴν εἶπας ἐν ὠσίν μου, φωνὴν ῥημάτων ἀκήκοα·אַ֭ךְ אָמַ֣רְתָּ בְאָזְנָ֑י וְק֖וֹל מִלִּ֣ין אֶשְׁמָֽעDixisti ergo in auribus meis, et vocem verborum tuorum audivi:“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
I am clean, and without sin: I am unspotted, and there is no iniquity in me.“Tôi trong sạch, không phạm tội bất trung,tôi tinh tuyền, chẳng hề vương tội lỗi.διότι λέγεις Καθαρός εἰμι, οὐχ ἁμαρτών· ἄμεμπτός εἰμι, οὐ γὰρ ἠνόμησα.זַ֥ךְ אֲנִ֗י בְּֽלִ֫י פָ֥שַׁע חַ֥ף אָנֹכִ֑י וְלֹ֖א עָוֺ֣ן לִֽיMundus sum ego, et absque delicto: immaculatus, et non est iniquitas in me.‘I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
Because he hath found complaints against me, therefore he hath counted me for his enemy. Quia querelas in me reperit, ideo arbitratus est me inimicum sibi.Behold, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
He hath put my feet in the stocks, he hath observed all my paths. Posuit in nervo pedes meos; custodivit omnes semitas meas.He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.’
Now this is the thing in which thou art not justified: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.Vậy, tôi xin trả lời: trong vấn đề này, ông không có lý,bởi vì Thiên Chúa cao cả hơn phàm nhân.πῶς γὰρ λέγεις Δίκαιός εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἐπακήκοέν μου; αἰώνιος γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ἐπάνω βροτῶν.הֶן זֹ֣את לֹא צָדַ֣קְתָּ אֶעֱנֶ֑ךָּ כִּֽי יִרְבֶּ֥ה אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַ מֵאֱנֽוֹשׁHoc est ergo in quo non es justificatus: respondebo tibi, quia major sit Deus homine.“Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
Dost thou strive against him, because he hath not answered thee to all words?Tại sao ông lại tranh tụng với Người?Vì Người đâu phải trả lẽ về các việc Người làm.λέγεις δέ Διὰ τί τῆς δίκης μου οὐκ ἐπακήκοέν μου πᾶν ῥῆμα;מַ֭דּוּעַ אֵלָ֣יו רִיב֑וֹתָ כִּ֥י כָל דְּ֝בָרָ֗יו לֹ֣א יַעֲנֶֽה Why do you strive against him, because he doesn’t give account of any of his matters?
God speaketh once, and repeateth not the selfsame thing the second time. For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
By a dream in a vision by night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, and they are sleeping in their beds:Đang đêm, trong giấc mộng, xảy ra một thị kiến,khi một giấc ngủ mê ập xuống trên người phàm,lúc họ thiếp đi trên giường ngủ.ἐνύπνιον, ἢ ἐν μελέτῃ νυκτερινῇ, ὡς ὅταν ἐπιπίπτῃ δεινὸς φόβος ἐπ᾽ ἀνθρώπους, ἐπὶ νυσταγμάτων ἐπὶ κοίτης·בַּחֲל֤וֹם חֶזְי֬וֹן לַ֗יְלָה בִּנְפֹ֣ל תַּ֭רְדֵּמָה עַל אֲנָשִׁ֑ים בִּ֝תְנוּמ֗וֹת עֲלֵ֣י מִשְׁכָּֽבPer somnium, in visione nocturna, quando irruit sopor super homines, et dormiunt in lectulo,In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed,
Then he openeth the ears of men, and teaching instructeth them in what they are to learn.Bấy giờ Người mở tai cho phàm nhân,làm cho họ sợ hãi vì những lời cảnh cáo,τότε ἀνακαλύπτει νοῦν ἀνθρώπων, ἐν εἴδεσιν φόβου τοιούτοις αὐτοὺς ἐξεφόβησεν,אָ֣ז יִ֭גְלֶה אֹ֣זֶן אֲנָשִׁ֑ים וּבְמֹ֖סָרָ֣ם יַחְתֹּֽםtunc aperit aures virorum, et erudiens eos instruit disciplina, then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
That he may withdraw a man from the things he is doing, and may deliver him from pride.để kéo họ xa những việc đã làmgiúp họ tránh được thói kiêu căng,ἀποστρέψαι ἄνθρωπον ἀπὸ ἀδικίας· τὸ δὲ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ πτώματος ἐρρύσατο.לְ֭הָסִיר אָדָ֣ם מַעֲשֶׂ֑ה וְגֵוָ֖ה מִגֶּ֣בֶר יְכַסֶּֽהut avertat hominem ab his quæ facit, et liberet eum de superbia, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
Rescuing his soul from corruption: and his life from passing to the sword.giữ linh hồn khỏi sa vào vực thẳm,cứu sinh mạng khỏi rơi xuống đường hầm.ἐφείσατο δὲ τῆς ψυχῆς αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ θανάτου, καὶ μὴ πεσεῖν αὐτὸν ἐν πολέμῳ.יַחְשֹׂ֣ךְ נַ֭פְשׁוֹ מִנִּי שָׁ֑חַת וְ֝חַיָּת֗וֹ מֵעֲבֹ֥ר בַּשָּֽׁלַחeruens animam ejus a corruptione, et vitam illius ut non transeat in gladium. He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
He rebuketh also by sorrow in the bed, and he maketh all his bones to wither. Increpat quoque per dolorem in lectulo, et omnia ossa ejus marcescere facit.“He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones,
Bread becometh abominable to him in his life, and to his soul the meat which before he desired.Họ sống mà không còn thiết ăn,cao lương mỹ vị cũng chẳng màng.πᾶν δὲ βρωτὸν σίτου οὐ μὴ δύνηται προσδέξασθαι, καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ βρῶσιν ἐπιθυμήσει·וְזִֽהֲמַ֣תּוּ חַיָּת֣וֹ לָ֑חֶם וְ֝נַפְשׁ֗וֹ מַאֲכַ֥ל תַּאֲוָֽהAbominabilis ei fit in vita sua panis, et animæ illius cibus ante desiderabilis.so that his life abhors bread, and his soul dainty food.
His flesh shall be consumed away, and his bones that were covered shall be made bare. Tabescet caro ejus, et ossa, quæ tecta fuerant, nudabuntur. His flesh is so consumed away that it can’t be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.
His soul hath drawn near to corruption, and his life to the destroyers. Appropinquavit corruptioni anima ejus, et vita illius mortiferis.Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
If there shall be an angel speaking for him, one among thousands, to declare man’s uprightness,Nếu bấy giờ bên họ có một sứ giả,một người bảo trợ được chọn trong muôn người,để bảo cho con người biết bổn phận của họ.ἐὰν ὦσιν χίλιοι ἄγγελοι θανατηφόροι, εἷς αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ τρώσῃ αὐτόν. ἐὰν νοήσῃ τῇ καρδίᾳ ἐπιστραφῆναι πρὸς Κύριον, ἀναγγείλῃ δὲ ἀνθρώπῳ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ μέμψιν, τὴν δὲ ἄνοιαν αὐτοῦ δείξῃ,אִם יֵ֤שׁ עָלָ֨יו מַלְאָ֗ךְ מֵלִ֗יץ אֶחָ֥ד מִנִּי אָ֑לֶף לְהַגִּ֖יד לְאָדָ֣ם יָשְׁרֽוֹSi fuerit pro eo angelus loquens, unus de millibus, ut annuntiet hominis æquitatem,“If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him,
He shall have mercy on him, and shall say: Deliver him, that he may not go down to corruption: I have found wherein I may be merciful to him.Người ấy xót thương họ và van xin:“Xin Ngài tha cho nó khỏi xuống mồ, tôi đã tìm ra giá chuộc.”ἀνθέξεται τοῦ μὴ πεσεῖν εἰς θάνατον· ἀνανεώσει δὲ αὐτοῦ τὸ σῶμα ὥσπερ ἀλοιφὴν ἐπὶ τοίχου, τὰ δὲ ὀστᾶ αὐτοῦ ἐμπλήσει μυελοῦ·וַיְחֻנֶּ֗נּוּ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר פְּ֭דָעֵהוּ מֵרֶ֥דֶת שָׁ֗חַת מָצָ֥אתִי כֹֽפֶרmiserebitur ejus, et dicet: Libera eum, ut non descendat in corruptionem: inveni in quo ei propitier.then God is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.’
His flesh is consumed with punishment, let him return to the days of his youth. Consumpta est caro ejus a suppliciis: revertatur ad dies adolescentiæ suæ.His flesh will be fresher than a child’s. 26He shall pray to God, and he will be gracious to him: and he shall see his face with joy, and he will render to man his justice.Họ khẩn cầu Thiên Chúa và Người thương cảm,cho họ mừng vui chiêm ngưỡng nhan Người,cho thiên hạ thấy rằng họ công chính.εὐξάμενος δὲ πρὸς Κύριον, καὶ δεκτὰ αὐτῷ ἔσται, εἰσελεύσεται δὲ προσώπῳ ἱλαρῷ σὺν ἐξηγορίᾳ· ἀποδώσει δὲ ἀνθρώποις δικαιοσύνην.יֶעְתַּ֤ר אֶל אֱל֨וֹהַּ וַיִּרְצֵ֗הוּ וַיַּ֣רְא פָּ֭נָיו בִּתְרוּעָ֑ה וַיָּ֥שֶׁב לֶ֝אֱנ֗וֹשׁ צִדְקָתֽוֹDeprecabitur Deum, et placabilis ei erit: et videbit faciem ejus in jubilo, et reddet homini justitiam suam.He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. 27He shall look upon men, and shall say: I have sinned, and indeed I have offended, and I have not received what I have deserved.Họ cất tiếng ca giữa người phàm và nói:“Tôi đã phạm tội và lỗi đức công minh,nhưng Người lại không xử với tôi như tôi đáng tội.εἶτα τότε ἀπομέμψεται ἄνθρωπος αὐτὸς ἑαυτῷ λέγων Οἷα συνετέλουν; καὶ οὐκ ἄξια ἤτασέν με ὧν ἥμαρτον.יָשֹׁ֤ר עַל אֲנָשִׁ֗ים וַיֹּ֗אמֶר חָ֭טָאתִי וְיָשָׁ֥ר הֶעֱוֵ֗יתִי וְלֹא שָׁ֥וָה לִֽיRespiciet homines, et dicet: Peccavi, et vere deliqui, et ut eram dignus, non recepi. He sings before men, and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it didn’t profit me.
