| 7 | Because for this end thou hast put thy fear in our hearts, to the intent that we should call upon thy name, and praise thee in our captivity, for we are converted from the iniquity of our fathers, who sinned before thee. | Sở dĩ Ngài đã ban cho chúng con lòng kính sợ Ngài là để chúng con kêu cầu Thánh Danh. Nơi lưu đày, chúng con sẽ ca tụng Ngài, vì chúng con đã loại khỏi tâm hồn chúng con mọi điều gian ác cha ông chúng con đã phạm trước nhan Ngài. | ὅτι διὰ τοῦτο ἔδωκας τὸν φόβον σου ἐπὶ καρδίαν ἡμῶν καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθαι τὸ ὄνομά σου· καὶ αἰνέσομέν σε ἐν τῇ ἀποικίᾳ ἡμῶν, ὅτι ἀπεστρέψαμεν ἀπὸ καρδίας. ἡμῶν πᾶσαν ἀδικίαν πατέρων ἡμῶν τῶν ἡμαρτηκότων ἐναντίον σου. | quia propter hoc dedisti timorem tuum in cordibus nostris, et ut invocemus nomen tuum, et laudemus te in captivitate nostra, quia convertimur ab iniquitate patrum nostrorum, qui peccaverunt ante te. | For this cause, you have put your fear in our hearts, to the intent that we should call upon your name. | 13 | For if thou hadst walked in the way of God, thou hadst surely dwelt in peace for ever. | Nếu ngươi cứ bước đi theo đường Đức Chúa,hẳn muôn đời ngươi đã được an vui. | τῇ ὁδῷ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰ ἐπορεύθης, κατῴκεις ἂν ἐν εἰρήνῃ τὸν αἰῶνα. | nam si in via Dei ambulasses, habitasses utique in pace sempiterna. | If you had walked in the way of God, you would have dwelled in peace forever. |
| 14 | Learn where is wisdom, where is strength, where is understanding: that thou mayst know also where is length of days and life, where is the light of the eyes, and peace. | Hãy học cho biết đâu là khôn ngoan,đâu là sức mạnh, đâu là thông hiểu,đâu là trường thọ và sự sống,đâu là ánh sáng soi con mắt, và đâu là bình an. | μάθε ποῦ ἐστιν φρόνησις, ποῦ ἐστιν ἰσχύς, ποῦ ἐστιν σύνεσις, τοῦ γνῶναι ἅμα ποῦ ἐστιν μακροβίωσις καὶ ζωή, ποῦ ἐστιν φῶς ὀφθαλμῶν καὶ εἰρήνη. | Disce ubi sit prudentia, ubi sit virtus, ubi sit intellectus, ut scias simul ubi sit longiturnitas vitæ et victus, ubi sit lumen oculorum, et pax. | Learn where there is wisdom, where there is strength, and where there is understanding, that you may also know where there is length of days and life, where there is the light of the eyes and peace. |

| 16 | Where are the princes of the nations, and they that rule over the beasts that are upon the earth? | Đâu cả rồi, thủ lãnh các dân tộc,kẻ bá chủ muông thú địa cầu, | ποῦ εἰσιν οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ οἱ κυριεύοντες τῶν θηρίων τῶν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, | Ubi sunt principes gentium, et qui dominantur super bestias quæ sunt super terram? | Where are the princes of the heathen, and those who ruled the beasts that are on the earth, |
| 17 | That take their diversion with the birds of the air. | kẻ lấy chim trời làm trò tiêu khiển?Đâu cả rồi kẻ chuyên lo tích trữ bạc vàng,là những thứ người đời luôn tin tưởng,có chiếm được bao nhiêu cũng không vừa? | οἱ ἐν τοῖς ὀρνέοις τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἐμπαίζοντες, καὶ τὸ ἀργύριον θησαυρίζοντες καὶ τὸ χρυσίον ᾧ ἐπεποίθεισαν ἄνθρωποι, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν τέλος τῆς κτήσεως αὐτῶν; | qui in avibus cæli ludunt, | those who had their pastime with the fowls of the air, and those who hoarded up silver and gold, in which people trust, and of their getting there is no end? |
| 18 | That hoard up silver and gold, wherein men trust, and there is no end of their getting? who work in silver and are solicitous, and their works are unsearchable. | Đâu cả rồi những kẻ làm ra bạc,nhọc lòng mà kết quả vẫn là không? | ὅτι οἱ τὸ ἀργύριον τεκταίνοντες καὶ μεριμνῶντες, καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐξεύρεσις τῶν ἔργων αὐτῶν, | qui argentum thesaurizant, et aurum, in quo confidunt homines, et non est finis acquisitionis eorum? qui argentum fabricant, et solliciti sunt, nec est inventio operum illorum? | For those who diligently sought silver, and were so anxious, and whose works are past finding out, |

| 20 | Young men have seen the light, and dwelt upon the earth: but the way of knowledge they have not known, | Một lớp người trẻ hơn đã nhìn thấy ánh sáng,đã cư ngụ trên chốn dương gian:nhưng đường hiểu biết, chúng chẳng am tường, | νεώτεροι ἴδον φῶς καὶ κατῴκησαν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ὁδὸν δὲ ἐπιστήμης οὐκ ἔγνωσαν | Juvenes viderunt lumen, et habitaverunt super terram, viam autem disciplinæ ignoraverunt, | Younger men have seen the light and lived upon the earth, but they haven’t known the way of knowledge, |
| 21 | Nor have they understood the paths thereof, neither have their children received it, it is far from their face. | nẻo khôn ngoan, chúng không thông hiểu.Cả con cái chúng cũng không nắm vững,cứ mãi ở xa đường lối khôn ngoan. | οὐδὲ συνῆκαν τρίβους αὐτῆς οὐδὲ ἀντελάβοντο αὐτῆς· οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτῶν πόρρω ἐγενήθησαν, | neque intellexerunt semitas ejus, neque filii eorum susceperunt eam: a facie ipsorum longe facta est; | nor understood its paths. Their children haven’t embraced it. They are far off from their way. |
| 22 | It hath not been heard of in the land of Chanaan, neither hath it been seen in Theman. | Tại Ca-na-an, không ai nghe nói đến,cũng chẳng ai nhìn thấy tại Tê-man. | οὐδὲ ἠκούσθη ἐν Χανάαν οὐδὲ ὤφθη ἐν Θαιμάν. | non est audita in terra Chanaan, neque visa est in Theman. | It has not been heard of in Canaan, neither has it been seen in Teman. |
| 23 | The children of Agar also, that search after the wisdom that is of the earth, the merchants of Merrha, and of Theman, and the tellers of fables, and searchers of prudence and understanding: but the way of wisdom they have not known, neither have they remembered her paths. | Ngay cả đám con cháu Ha-ga,những kẻ trên đời chuyên tìm kiến thức,bọn thương gia Me-ran và Tê-man,những kẻ ưa kể truyện thần thoại, chuyên tìm kiến thức:trong bọn họ, đường nẻo khôn ngoanchẳng ai am tường, chẳng ai nhớ đến. | οἵ τε υἱοὶ Ἁγὰρ οἱ ἐκζητοῦντες τὴν σύνεσιν οἱ ἐπὶ γῆς, οἱ ἔμποροι τῆς Μερρὰν καὶ Θαιμάν, καὶ οἱ μυθολόγοι καὶ οἱ ἐκζητηταὶ τῆς συνέσεως, ὁδὸν δὲ σοφίας οὐκ ἔγνωσαν οὐδὲ ἐμνήσθησαν τὰς τρίβους αὐτῆς. | Filii quoque Agar, qui exquirunt prudentiam quæ de terra est, negotiatores Merrhæ et Theman, et fabulatores, et exquisitores prudentiæ et intelligentiæ: viam autem sapientiæ nescierunt, neque commemorati sunt semitas ejus. | The sons also of Agar who seek understanding, which are in the land, the merchants of Merran and Teman, and the authors of fables, and the searchers out of understanding—none of these have known the way of wisdom or remembered her paths. |

How large is the place of his possession! |
| 25 | It is great, and hath no end: it is high and immense. | lớn lao vô hạn, cao cả khôn lường! | μέγας καὶ οὐκ ἔχει τελευτήν, ὑψηλὸς καὶ ἀμέτρητος. | magnus est, et non habet finem: excelsus, et immensus. | It is great and has no end. It is high and unmeasurable. |
| 26 | There were the giants, those renowned men that were from the beginning, of great stature, expert in war. | Tại đó, từ nguyên thuỷ đã sinh ranhững kẻ khổng lồ tiếng tăm lừng lẫy,vóc dáng to cao, thạo nghề chinh chiến. | ἐκεῖ ἐγεννήθησαν οἱ γίγαντες οἱ ὀνομαστοὶ ἀπ᾽ ἀρχῆς γενόμενοι, εὐμεγέθεις, ἐπιστάμενοι πόλεμον. | Ibi fuerunt gigantes nominati illi, qui ab initio fuerunt, statura magna, scientes bellum. | Giants were born that were famous of old, great of stature, and expert in war. |
| 27 | The Lord chose not them, neither did they find the way of knowledge: therefore did they perish. | Nhưng những người này, Thiên Chúa không chọn,cũng chẳng dạy cho con đường hiểu biết. | οὐ τούτους ἐξελέξατο ὁ θεός, οὐδὲ ὁδὸν ἐπιστήμης ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς· | Non hos elegit Dominus, neque viam disciplinæ invenerunt: propterea perierunt, | God didn’t choose these, nor did he give the way of knowledge to them, |
| 28 | And because they had not wisdom, they perished through their folly. | Vì thiếu hiểu biết, họ đã tiêu vong,đã tiêu vong, vì họ điên rồ. | καὶ ἀπώλοντο παρὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν φρόνησιν, ἀπώλοντο διὰ τὴν ἀβουλίαν αὐτῶν. | et quoniam non habuerunt sapientiam, interierunt propter suam insipientiam. | so they perished, because they had no wisdom. They perished through their own foolishness. |
| 29 | Who hath gone up into heaven, and taken her, and brought her down from the clouds? | Ai lên trời chiếm được khôn ngoan,rời khỏi tầng mây mà đưa xuống? | τίς ἀνέβη εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτήν, καὶ κατεβίβασεν αὐτὴν ἐκ τῶν νεφελῶν; | Quis ascendit in cælum, et accepit eam, et eduxit eam de nubibus? | Who has gone up into heaven, taken her, and brought her down from the clouds? |
| 30 | Who hath passed over the sea, and found her, and brought her preferably to chosen gold? | Ai vượt trùng dương để mong tìm được,rồi lấy vàng y đổi đem về? | τίς διέβη πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ εὗρεν αὐτήν, καὶ οἴσει αὐτὴν χρυσίου ἐκλεκτοῦ; | Quis transfretavit mare, et invenit illam, et attulit illam super aurum electum? | Who has gone over the sea, found her, and will bring her for choice gold? |
| 31 | There is none that is able to know her ways, nor that can search out her paths: | Đường khôn ngoan, nào ai biết được,nẻo khôn ngoan, mấy kẻ quan tâm? | οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ γινώσκων τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτῆς, οὐδὲ ὁ ἐνθυμούμενος τὴν τρίβον αὐτῆς. | Non est qui possit scire vias ejus, neque qui exquirat semitas ejus: | There is no one who knows her way, nor any who comprehend her path. |
| 32 | But he that knoweth all things, knoweth her, and hath found her out with his understanding: he that prepared the earth for evermore, and filled it with cattle and fourfooted beasts: | Chỉ mình Đấng Toàn Tri mới biết đức khôn ngoan,chỉ có trí tuệ Người mới thông suốt được.Người đã thiết lập cõi đất cho bền vững muôn đời,đã cho thú vật tràn đầy mặt đất. | ἀλλὰ ὁ εἰδὼς τὰ πάντα γινώσκει αὐτήν, ἐξεῦρεν αὐτὴν τῇ συνέσει αὐτοῦ· ὁ κατασκευάσας τὴν γῆν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα χρόνον ἐνέπλησεν αὐτὴν κτηνῶν τετραπόδων· | sed qui scit universa novit eam, et adinvenit eam prudentia sua qui præparavit terram in æterno tempore: et replevit eam pecudibus et quadrupedibus | But he that knows all things knows her, he found her out with his understanding. He who prepared the earth for all time has filled it with four-footed beasts. |
| 33 | He that sendeth forth light, and it goeth: and hath called it, and it obeyeth him with trembling. | Người sai ánh sáng, ánh sáng liền đi;gọi ánh sáng lại, ánh sáng run rẩy vâng lời. | ὁ ἀποστέλλων τὸ φῶς καὶ πορεύεται, ἐκάλεσεν αὐτό, καὶ ὑπήκουσεν αὐτῷ τρόμῳ· | qui emittit lumen, et vadit, et vocavit illud, et obedit illi in tremore. | It is he who sends forth the light, and it goes. He called it, and it obeyed him with fear. |
| 34 | And the stars have given light in their watches, and rejoiced: | Các tinh tú, mỗi ngôi ở vị trí mình, tưng bừng chiếu sáng. | οἱ δὲ ἀστέρες ἔλαμψαν ἐν ταῖς φυλακαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ εὐφράνθησαν· | Stellæ autem dederunt lumen in custodiis suis, et lætatæ sunt: | The stars shone in their watches, and were glad. When he called them, they said, “Here we are.” They shone with gladness to him who made them. |
| 35 | They were called, and they said: Here we are: and with cheerfu Iness they have shined forth to him that made them. | Người gọi chúng, chúng thưa: Có mặt,và hân hoan chiếu sáng mừng Đấng tạo nên mình. | ἐκάλεσεν αὐτούς, καὶ εἶπον Πάρεσμεν· ἔλαμψαν μετ᾽ εὐφροσύνης τῷ ποιήσαντι αὐτούς. | vocatæ sunt, et dixerunt: Adsumus, et luxerunt ei cum jucunditate, qui fecit illas. | This is our God. No other can be compared to him. |
| 36 | This is our God, and there shall no other be accounted of in comparison of him. | Chính Người là Thiên Chúa chúng ta,chẳng có ai sánh được như Người. | οὗτος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν, οὐ λογισθήσεται ἕτερος πρὸς αὐτόν. | Hic est Deus noster, et non æstimabitur alius adversus eum. | He has found out all the way of knowledge, and has given it to Jacob his servant and to Israel who is loved by him. |
