| 8 | Went in after the Israelite into the brothel house, and thrust both of them through together, to wit, the man and the woman in the genital parts. And the scourge ceased from the children of Israel: | đi theo người Ít-ra-en vào tận phòng hắn và đâm cả hai người, gã đàn ông Ít-ra-en và mụ đàn bà kia ngay giữa bụng. Thế là chấm dứt tai ương đe doạ con cái Ít-ra-en. | εἰσῆλθεν ὀπίσω τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τοῦ Ἰσραηλείτου εἰς τὴν κάμινον, καὶ ἀπεκέντησεν ἀμφοτέρους, τόν τε ἄνθρωπον τὸν Ἰσραηλείτην καὶ τὴν γυναῖκα διὰ τῆς μήτρας αὐτῆς· καὶ ἐπαύσατο ἡ πληγὴ ἀπὸ υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ. | וַ֠יָּבֹא אַחַ֨ר אִֽישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶל הַקֻּבָּ֗ה וַיִּדְקֹר֙ אֶת שְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם אֵ֚ת אִ֣ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְאֶת הָאִשָּׁ֖ה אֶל קֳבָתָ֑הּ וַתֵּֽעָצַר֙ הַמַּגֵּפָ֔ה מֵעַ֖ל בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל | ingressus est post virum Israëlitem in lupanar, et perfodit ambos simul, virum scilicet et mulierem in locis genitalibus. Cessavitque plaga a filiis Israël: | He went after the man of Israel into the pavilion, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel. |

| 11 | Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned away my wrath from the children of Israel: because he was moved with my zeal against them, that I myself might not destroy the children of Israel in my zeal. | “Pin-khát con của E-la-da, cháu tư tế A-ha-ron, đã ngăn Ta trút cơn phẫn nộ xuống con cái Ít-ra-en, khi nó cũng nổi ghen như Ta, chống lại bọn người kia. Vì vậy Ta không tiêu diệt con cái Ít-ra-en trong cơn ghen của Ta. | Φινεὲς υἱὸς Ἐλεαζὰρ υἱὸς Ἀαρὼν τοῦ ἱερέως κατέπαυσεν τὸν θυμόν μου ἀπὸ υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ ζηλῶσαί μου τὸν ζῆλον ἐν αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐκ ἐξανήλωσα τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν τῷ ζήλῳ μου. | פִּֽינְחָ֨ס בֶּן אֶלְעָזָ֜ר בֶּן אַהֲרֹ֣ן הַכֹּהֵ֗ן הֵשִׁ֤יב אֶת חֲמָתִי֙ מֵעַ֣ל בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּקַנְא֥וֹ אֶת קִנְאָתִ֖י בְּתוֹכָ֑ם וְלֹא כִלִּ֥יתִי אֶת בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּקִנְאָתִֽי | Phinees filius Eleazari filii Aaron sacerdotis avertit iram meam a filiis Israël: quia zelo meo commotus est contra eos, ut non ipse delerem filios Israël in zelo meo. | “Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, in that he was jealous with my jealousy among them, so that I didn’t consume the children of Israel in my jealousy. |
| 12 | Therefore say to him: Behold I give him the peace of my covenant, | Cho nên, ngươi hãy bảo nó: Này, Ta ban cho nó giao ước bình an của Ta. | οὕτως εἰπόν Ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ δίδωμι αὐτῷ διαθήκην εἰρήνης, | לָכֵ֖ן אֱמֹ֑ר הִנְנִ֨י נֹתֵ֥ן ל֛וֹ אֶת בְּרִיתִ֖י שָׁלֽוֹם | Idcirco loquere ad eum: Ecce do ei pacem fœderis mei, | Therefore say, ‘Behold, I give to him my covenant of peace. |

He was head of the people of a fathers’ house in Midian. |

| 17 | Let the Madianites find you enemies, and slay you them: | “Hãy tấn công quân Ma-đi-an và giết chúng đi. | Ἐχθραίνετε τοῖς Μαδιηναίοις καὶ πατάξατε αὐτούς, | צָר֖וֹר אֶת הַמִּדְיָנִ֑ים וְהִכִּיתֶ֖ם אוֹתָֽם | Hostes vos sentiant Madianitæ, et percutite eos: | “Harass the Midianites, and strike them; |
| 18 | Because they also have acted like enemies against you, and have guilefully deceived you by the idol Phogor, and Cozbi their sister, a daughter of a prince of Madian, who was slain in the day the plague for the sacrilege of Phogor. | Vì chúng đã tấn công các ngươi, và dùng mưu mô quỷ quyệt đối với các ngươi trong vụ Pơ-o và vụ Cót-bi, con gái một thủ lãnh Ma-đi-an, chị em của chúng, kẻ đã bị đâm chết ngày xảy ra tai ương trong vụ Pơ-o.” | ὅτι ἐχθραίνουσιν αὐτοὶ ὑμῖν ἐν δολιότητι, ὅσα δολιοῦσιν ὑμᾶς διὰ Φογώρ, καὶ διὰ Χασβεὶ θυγατέρα ἄρχοντος Μαδιὰν ἀδελφὴν αὐτῶν, τὴν πεπληγυῖαν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς πληγῆς διὰ Φογώρ. | כִּ֣י צֹרְרִ֥ים הֵם֙ לָכֶ֔ם בְּנִכְלֵיהֶ֛ם אֲשֶׁר נִכְּל֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם עַל דְּבַר פְּע֑וֹר וְעַל דְּבַ֞ר כָּזְבִּ֨י בַת נְשִׂ֤יא מִדְיָן֙ אֲחֹתָ֔ם הַמֻּכָּ֥ה בְיוֹם הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה עַל דְּבַר פְּעֽוֹר | quia et ipsi hostiliter egerunt contra vos, et decepere insidiis per idolum Phogor, et Cozbi filiam ducis Madian sororem suam, quæ percussa est in die plagæ pro sacrilegio Phogor. | for they harassed you with their wiles, wherein they have deceived you in the matter of Peor, and in the incident regarding Cozbi, the daughter of the prince of Midian, their sister, who was slain on the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.” |
