| 2 | Now also my words are in bitterness, and the hand of my scourge is more grievous than my mourning. | Mãi tới hôm nay, lời than trách của tôi vẫn còn cay đắng;giữa lúc tôi than khóc, bàn tay Người đè nặng trên tôi. | Καὶ δὴ οἶδα ὅτι ἐκ χειρός μου ἡ ἔλεγξίς ἐστιν, καὶ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ βαρεῖα γέγονεν ἐπ᾽ ἐμῷ στεναγμῷ. | גַּם הַ֭יּוֹם מְרִ֣י שִׂחִ֑י יָ֝דִ֗י כָּבְדָ֥ה עַל אַנְחָתִֽי | [Nunc quoque in amaritudine est sermo meus, et manus plagæ meæ aggravata est super gemitum meum. | “Even today my complaint is rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. |
| 3 | Who will grant me that I might know and find him, and come even to his throne? | Ai sẽ cho tôi biết tôi phải tới đâu để tìm Người,và làm sao đến được nơi Người ngự? | τίς δ᾽ ἄρα γνοίη ὅτι εὕροιμι αὐτὸν καὶ ἔλθοιμι εἰς τέλος; | מִֽי יִתֵּ֣ן יָ֭דַעְתִּי וְאֶמְצָאֵ֑הוּ אָ֝ב֗וֹא עַד תְּכוּנָתֽוֹ | Quis mihi tribuat ut cognoscam et inveniam illum, et veniam usque ad solium ejus? | Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! |
| 4 | I would set judgment before him, and would fill my mouth with complaints. | Tôi sẽ tỏ bày vụ việc trước nhan Người,miệng tôi chất chứa lời biện bạch. | εἴποιμι δὲ ἐμαυτοῦ κρίμα, τὸ δὲ στόμα μου ἐμπλήσαι ἐλέγχων· | אֶעֶרְכָ֣ה לְפָנָ֣יו מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וּ֝פִ֗י אֲמַלֵּ֥א תוֹכָחֽוֹת | Ponam coram eo judicium, et os meum replebo increpationibus: | I would set my cause in order before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. |
| 5 | That I might know the words that he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me. | Tôi sẽ biết những điều Người trả lời tôi,và hiểu được những gì Người nói. | γνῴην δὲ ἰάματα ἅ μοι ἐρεῖ, αἰσθοίμην δὲ τίνα μοι ἀπαγγελεῖ. | אֵ֭דְעָה מִלִּ֣ים יַעֲנֵ֑נִי וְ֝אָבִ֗ינָה מַה יֹּ֥אמַר לִֽי | ut sciam verba quæ mihi respondeat, et intelligam quid loquatur mihi. | I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would tell me. |
| 6 | I would not that he should contend with me with much strength, nor overwhelm me with the weight of his greatness. | Với tôi, Người có phải đem hết sức ra tranh luận?Không, Người chỉ cần lưu tâm để ý. | καὶ ἐν πολλῇ ἰσχύι ἐπελεύσεταί μοι· εἶτα ἐν ἀπειλῇ μοι οὐ χρήσεται. | הַבְּרָב כֹּ֭חַ יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑י לֹ֥א אַךְ ה֝֗וּא יָשִׂ֥ם בִּֽי | Nolo multa fortitudine contendat mecum, nec magnitudinis suæ mole me premat. | Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. |
| 7 | Let him propose equity against me, and let my judgment come to victory. | Bấy giờ sẽ có kẻ lòng ngay tranh luận với Người,và muôn đời tôi sẽ thoát khỏi tay Người xét xử. | ἀλήθεια γὰρ καὶ ἔλεγχος παρ᾽ αὐτοῦ, ἐξαγάγοι δὲ εἰς τέλος τὸ κρίμα μου. | שָׁ֗ם יָ֭שָׁר נוֹכָ֣ח עִמּ֑וֹ וַאֲפַלְּטָ֥ה לָ֝נֶ֗צַח מִשֹּׁפְטִֽי | Proponat æquitatem contra me, et perveniat ad victoriam judicium meum. | There the upright might reason with him, so I should be delivered forever from my judge. |
| 8 | But if I go to the east, he appeareth not; if to the west, I shall not understand him. | Này có sang đông, tôi sẽ chẳng thấy Người,đi sang Đoài, cũng không gặp được. | εἰς γὰρ πρῶτα πορεύσομαι, καὶ οὐκ ἔτι εἰμί, τὰ δὲ ἐπ᾽ ἐσχάτοις, τί οἶδα; | הֵ֤ן קֶ֣דֶם אֶהֱלֹ֣ךְ וְאֵינֶ֑נּוּ וְ֝אָח֗וֹר וְֽלֹא אָבִ֥ין לֽוֹ | Si ad orientem iero, non apparet; si ad occidentem, non intelligam eum. | “If I go east, he is not there. If I go west, I can’t find him. |
| 9 | If to the left hand, what shall I do? I shall not take hold on him: if I turn myself to the right hand, I shall not see him. | Tôi lên Bắc để tìm Người, cũng không thấy,có xuống Nam, Người vẫn biệt tăm. | ἀριστερὰ ποιήσαντος αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ κατέσχον, περιβαλεῖ δεξιὰ καὶ οὐκ ὄψομαι. | שְׂמֹ֣אול בַּעֲשֹׂת֣וֹ וְלֹא אָ֑חַז יַעְטֹ֥ף יָ֝מִ֗ין וְלֹ֣א אֶרְאֶֽה | Si ad sinistram, quid agam? non apprehendam eum; si me vertam ad dexteram, non videbo illum. | He works to the north, but I can’t see him. He turns south, but I can’t catch a glimpse of him. |
| 10 | But he knoweth my way, and has tried me as gold that passeth through the fire: | Quả thật, con đường tôi đi, Người đã biết,Người có đem tôi thử trong lò, tôi sẽ nên như vàng tinh luyện. | οἶδεν γὰρ ἤδη ὁδόν μου, διέκρινεν δέ με ὥσπερ τὸ χρυσίον. | כִּֽי יָ֭דַע דֶּ֣רֶךְ עִמָּדִ֑י בְּ֝חָנַ֗נִי כַּזָּהָ֥ב אֵצֵֽא | Ipse vero scit viam meam, et probavit me quasi aurum quod per ignem transit. | But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I will come out like gold. |
| 11 | My foot hath followed his steps, I have kept his way, and have not declined from it. | Chân tôi bước theo vết chân Người,tôi đã giữ đúng đường của Người, không trệch hướng. | ἐξελεύσομαι δὲ ἐν ἐντάλμασιν αὐτοῦ, ὁδοὺς γὰρ αὐτοῦ ἐφύλαξα, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐκκλίνω· | בַּ֭אֲשֻׁרוֹ אָחֲזָ֣ה רַגְלִ֑י דַּרְכּ֖וֹ שָׁמַ֣רְתִּי וְלֹא אָֽט | Vestigia ejus secutus est pes meus: viam ejus custodivi, et non declinavi ex ea. | My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away. |
| 12 | I have not departed from the commandments of his lips, and the words of his mouth I have hid in my bosom. | Lệnh môi Người truyền, tôi chẳng lìa xa,lời miệng Người phán, lòng tôi luôn ấp ủ. | ἀπὸ ἐνταλμάτων αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ μὴ παρέλθω, ἐν δὲ κόλπῳ μου ἔκρυψα ῥήματα αὐτοῦ. | מִצְוַ֣ת שְׂ֭פָתָיו וְלֹ֣א אָמִ֑ישׁ מֵ֝חֻקִּ֗י צָפַ֥נְתִּי אִמְרֵי פִֽיו | A mandatis labiorum ejus non recessi, et in sinu meo abscondi verba oris ejus. | I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. |
| 13 | For he is alone, and no man can turn away his thought: and whatsoever is soul hath desired, that hath he done. | Người quyết định rồi, ai làm Người đổi ý,điều lòng Người muốn, ắt Người sẽ thi hành. | εἰ δὲ καὶ αὐτὸς ἔκρινεν οὕτως, τίς ἐστιν ὁ ἀντειπὼν αὐτῷ; ὃ γὰρ αὐτὸς ἠθέλησεν, καὶ ἐποίησεν. | וְה֣וּא בְ֭אֶחָד וּמִ֣י יְשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹ אִוְּתָ֣ה וַיָּֽעַשׂ | Ipse enim solus est, et nemo avertere potest cogitationem ejus: et anima ejus quodcumque voluit, hoc fecit. | But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does. |
| 14 | And when he shall have fulfilled his will in me, many other like things are also at hand with him. | Quả thật, Người thực hiện phán quyết về tôi,cũng như bao quyết định khác như vậy. | διὰ τοῦτο ἐπ᾽ αὐτῷ ἐσπούδακα· νουθετούμενος δὲ ἐφρόντισα αὐτοῦ. | כִּ֭י יַשְׁלִ֣ים חֻקִּ֑י וְכָהֵ֖נָּה רַבּ֣וֹת עִמּֽוֹ | Cum expleverit in me voluntatem suam, et alia multa similia præsto sunt ei. | For he performs that which is appointed for me. Many such things are with him. |
| 15 | And therefore I am troubled at his presence, and when I consider him I am made pensive with fear. | Vì thế, đứng trước nhan Người, tôi đâm sợ hãi,chỉ nghĩ đến Người là đã khiếp kinh. | ἐπὶ τούτῳ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ κατασπουδασθῶ· κατανοήσω, καὶ πτοηθήσομαι ἐξ αὐτοῦ. | עַל כֵּ֭ן מִפָּנָ֣יו אֶבָּהֵ֑ל אֶ֝תְבּוֹנֵ֗ן וְאֶפְחַ֥ד מִמֶּֽנּוּ | Et idcirco a facie ejus turbatus sum, et considerans eum, timore sollicitor. | Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him. |
| 16 | God hath softened my heart, and the Almighty hath troubled me. | Thiên Chúa làm cho tôi nhát đảm,Đấng Toàn Năng khiến tôi phải kinh hoàng. | Κύριος δὲ ἐμαλάκυνεν τὴν καρδίαν μου, ὁ δὲ παντοκράτωρ ἐσπούδασέν με. | וְ֭אֵל הֵרַ֣ךְ לִבִּ֑י וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י הִבְהִילָֽנִי | Deus mollivit cor meum, et Omnipotens conturbavit me. | For God has made my heart faint. The Almighty has terrified me. |
| 17 | For I have not perished because of the darkness that hangs over me, neither hath the mist covered my face. | Nhưng dù ngay giữa đêm trường bị tối tăm che mặt,tôi vẫn không nín lặng làm thinh. | οὐ γὰρ ᾔδειν ὅτι ἐπελεύσεταί μοι σκότος, πρὸ προσώπου δὲ μου ἐκάλυψεν γνόφος. | כִּֽי לֹ֣א נִ֭צְמַתִּי מִפְּנֵי חֹ֑שֶׁךְ וּ֝מִפָּנַ֗י כִּסָּה אֹֽפֶל | Non enim perii propter imminentes tenebras, nec faciem meam operuit caligo.] | Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face. |
