| 10 | And he said to them: Behold, as you go into the city, there shall meet you a man carrying a pitcher of water: follow him into the house where he entereth in. | Người bảo họ: “Này, khi vào thành, các anh sẽ gặp một người mang vò nước. Cứ đi theo người đó, người đó vào nhà nào, | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἰδοὺ εἰσελθόντων ὑμῶν εἰς τὴν πόλιν συναντήσει ὑμῖν ἄνθρωπος κεράμιον ὕδατος βαστάζων· ἀκολουθήσατε αὐτῷ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν ⸂εἰς ἣν⸃ εἰσπορεύεται. | Et dixit ad eos: Ecce introëuntibus vobis in civitatem occurret vobis homo quidam amphoram aquæ portans: sequimini eum in domum, in quam intrat, | He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. | 16 | For I say to you, that from this time I will not eat it, till it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. | Bởi vì, Thầy nói cho anh em hay, Thầy sẽ không bao giờ ăn lễ Vượt Qua này nữa, cho đến khi lễ này được nên trọn vẹn trong Nước Thiên Chúa.” | λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ⸀ὅτι οὐ μὴ φάγω ⸀αὐτὸ ἕως ὅτου πληρωθῇ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ θεοῦ. | Dico enim vobis, quia ex hoc non manducabo illud, donec impleatur in regno Dei. | for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in God’s Kingdom.” |

| 21 | But yet behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table. | “Nhưng này bàn tay kẻ nộp Thầy đang cùng đặt trên bàn với Thầy. | πλὴν ἰδοὺ ἡ χεὶρ τοῦ παραδιδόντος με μετ’ ἐμοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης· | Verumtamen ecce manus tradentis me, mecum est in mensa. | But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table. |
| 22 | And the Son of man indeed goeth, according to that which is determined: but yet, woe to that man by whom he shall be betrayed. | Đã hẳn Con Người ra đi như đã ấn định, nhưng khốn cho kẻ nào nộp Con Người.” | ⸂ὅτι ὁ υἱὸς μὲν⸃ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ⸂κατὰ τὸ ὡρισμένον πορεύεται⸃, πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ ἐκείνῳ δι’ οὗ παραδίδοται. | Et quidem Filius hominis, secundum quod definitum est, vadit: verumtamen væ homini illi per quem tradetur. | The Son of Man indeed goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!” |
| 23 | And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. | Các Tông Đồ bắt đầu bàn tán với nhau xem ai trong Nhóm lại là kẻ toan làm chuyện ấy. | καὶ αὐτοὶ ἤρξαντο συζητεῖν πρὸς ἑαυτοὺς τὸ τίς ἄρα εἴη ἐξ αὐτῶν ὁ τοῦτο μέλλων πράσσειν. | Et ipsi cœperunt quærere inter se quis esset ex eis qui hoc facturus esset. | They began to question among themselves which of them it was who would do this thing. |
| 24 | And there was also a strife amongst them, which of them should seem to be the greater. | Các ông còn cãi nhau sôi nổi xem ai trong Nhóm được coi là người lớn nhất. | Ἐγένετο δὲ καὶ φιλονεικία ἐν αὐτοῖς, τὸ τίς αὐτῶν δοκεῖ εἶναι μείζων. | Facta est autem et contentio inter eos, quis eorum videretur esse major. | A dispute also arose among them, which of them was considered to be greatest. |
| 25 | And he said to them: The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they that have power over them, are called beneficent. | Đức Giê-su bảo các ông: “Vua các dân thì dùng uy mà thống trị dân, và những ai cầm quyền thì tự xưng là ân nhân. | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Οἱ βασιλεῖς τῶν ἐθνῶν κυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ ἐξουσιάζοντες αὐτῶν εὐεργέται καλοῦνται. | Dixit autem eis: Reges gentium dominantur eorum: et qui potestatem habent super eos, benefici vocantur. | He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ |
| 26 | But you not so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is the leader, as he that serveth. | Nhưng anh em thì không phải như thế, trái lại, ai lớn nhất trong anh em, thì phải nên như người nhỏ tuổi nhất, và kẻ làm đầu thì phải nên như người phục vụ. | ὑμεῖς δὲ οὐχ οὕτως, ἀλλ’ ὁ μείζων ἐν ὑμῖν ⸀γινέσθω ὡς ὁ νεώτερος, καὶ ὁ ἡγούμενος ὡς ὁ διακονῶν· | Vos autem non sic: sed qui major est in vobis, fiat sicut minor: et qui præcessor est, sicut ministrator. | But not so with you. Rather, the one who is greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves. |
| 27 | For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? Is it not he that sitteth at table? But I am in the midst of you, as he that serveth: | Bởi lẽ, giữa người ngồi ăn với kẻ phục vụ, ai lớn hơn ai? Hẳn là người ngồi ăn chứ? Thế mà, Thầy đây, Thầy sống giữa anh em như một người phục vụ. | τίς γὰρ μείζων, ὁ ἀνακείμενος ἢ ὁ διακονῶν; οὐχὶ ὁ ἀνακείμενος; ἐγὼ δὲ ⸂ἐν μέσῳ ὑμῶν εἰμι⸃ ὡς ὁ διακονῶν. | Nam quis major est, qui recumbit, an qui ministrat? nonne qui recumbit? Ego autem in medio vestrum sum, sicut qui ministrat: | For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am among you as one who serves. |
| 28 | And you are they who have continued with me in my temptations: | “Còn anh em, anh em vẫn một lòng gắn bó với Thầy, giữa những lúc Thầy gặp thử thách gian nan. | Ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε οἱ διαμεμενηκότες μετ’ ἐμοῦ ἐν τοῖς πειρασμοῖς μου· | vos autem estis, qui permansistis mecum in tentationibus meis. | “But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. |
| 29 | And I dispose to you, as my Father hath disposed to me, a kingdom; | Vì thế, Thầy sẽ trao Vương Quốc cho anh em, như Cha Thầy đã trao cho Thầy, | κἀγὼ διατίθεμαι ὑμῖν, καθὼς διέθετό μοι ὁ πατήρ μου βασιλείαν, | Et ego dispono vobis sicut disposuit mihi Pater meus regnum, | I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me, |
| 30 | That you may eat and drink at my table, in my kingdom: and may sit upon thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. | để anh em được đồng bàn ăn uống với Thầy trong Vương Quốc của Thầy, và ngự toà xét xử mười hai chi tộc Ít-ra-en.”Mt 26,30-35; Mc 14,26-31; Ga 13,36-38 | ἵνα ⸀ἔσθητε καὶ πίνητε ἐπὶ τῆς τραπέζης μου ⸂ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ μου⸃, καὶ ⸀καθήσεσθε ἐπὶ θρόνων ⸂τὰς δώδεκα φυλὰς κρίνοντες⸃ τοῦ Ἰσραήλ. | ut edatis et bibatis super mensam meam in regno meo, et sedeatis super thronos judicantes duodecim tribus Israël. | that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. | 31 | And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: | Rồi Chúa nói: “Si-môn, Si-môn ơi, kìa Xa-tan đã xin được sàng anh em như người ta sàng gạo. | ⸀Σίμων Σίμων, ἰδοὺ ὁ Σατανᾶς ἐξῃτήσατο ὑμᾶς τοῦ σινιάσαι ὡς τὸν σῖτον· | Ait autem Dominus: Simon, Simon, ecce Satanas expetivit vos ut cribraret sicut triticum: | The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have all of you, that he might sift you as wheat, |
| 32 | But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren. | Nhưng Thầy đã cầu nguyện cho anh để anh khỏi mất lòng tin. Phần anh, một khi đã trở lại, hãy làm cho anh em của anh nên vững mạnh.” | ἐγὼ δὲ ἐδεήθην περὶ σοῦ ἵνα μὴ ἐκλίπῃ ἡ πίστις σου· καὶ σύ ποτε ἐπιστρέψας ⸀στήρισον τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου. | ego autem rogavi pro te ut non deficiat fides tua: et tu aliquando conversus, confirma fratres tuos. | but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers.” |
| 33 | Who said to him: Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. | Ông Phê-rô thưa với Người: “Lạy Chúa, dầu có phải vào tù hay phải chết với Chúa đi nữa, con cũng sãn sàng.” | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, μετὰ σοῦ ἕτοιμός εἰμι καὶ εἰς φυλακὴν καὶ εἰς θάνατον πορεύεσθαι. | Qui dixit ei: Domine, tecum paratus sum et in carcerem et in mortem ire. | He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!” |
| 34 | And he said: I say to thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, till thou thrice deniest that thou knowest me. And he said to them: | Đức Giê-su lại nói: “Này anh Phê-rô, Thầy bảo cho anh biết, hôm nay gà chưa kịp gáy, thì đã ba lần anh chối là không biết Thầy.” | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Λέγω σοι, Πέτρε, οὐ ⸀φωνήσει σήμερον ἀλέκτωρ ⸀ἕως τρίς ⸂με ἀπαρνήσῃ εἰδέναι⸃. | At ille dixit: Dico tibi, Petre, non cantabit hodie gallus, donec ter abneges nosse me. Et dixit eis: | He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.” |
| 35 | When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, did you want anything? | Rồi Người nói với các ông: “Khi Thầy sai anh em ra đi, không túi tiền, không bao bị, không giày dép, anh em có thiếu thốn gì không?” Các ông đáp: “Thưa không.” | Καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων, μή τινος ὑστερήσατε; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· Οὐθενός. | Quando misi vos sine sacculo, et pera, et calceamentis, numquid aliquid defuit vobis? | He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.” |

Then said he unto them: But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a scrip; and he that hath not, let him sell his coat, and buy a sword. | Người bảo các ông: “Nhưng bây giờ, ai có túi tiền thì hãy mang theo, ai có bao bị cũng vậy; còn ai chưa có gươm thì bán áo đi mà mua. | εἶπεν ⸀δὲ αὐτοῖς· Ἀλλὰ νῦν ὁ ἔχων βαλλάντιον ἀράτω, ὁμοίως καὶ πήραν, καὶ ὁ μὴ ἔχων ⸀πωλησάτω τὸ ἱμάτιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ⸀ἀγορασάτω μάχαιραν. | At illi dixerunt: Nihil. Dixit ergo eis: Sed nunc qui habet sacculum, tollat; similiter et peram: et qui non habet, vendat tunicam suam et emat gladium. | Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword. |
| 37 | For I say to you, that this that is written must yet be fulfilled in me: And with the wicked was he reckoned. For the things concerning me have an end. | Vì Thầy bảo cho anh em hay: cần phải ứng nghiệm nơi bản thân Thầy lời Kinh Thánh đã chép: Người bị liệt vào hàng phạm pháp. | 58 | And after a little while, another seeing him, said: Thou also art one of them.
