| 2 | Can man be compared with God, even though he were of perfect knowledge? | Người phàm có thể hữu ích cho Thiên Chúa không?Có chăng người hiểu biết chỉ hữu ích cho chính mình. | Πότερον οὐχὶ ὁ κύριός ἐστιν ὁ διδάσκων σύνεσιν καὶ ἐπιστήμην; | הַלְאֵ֥ל יִסְכָּן גָּ֑בֶר כִּֽי יִסְכֹּ֖ן עָלֵ֣ימוֹ מַשְׂכִּֽיל | [Numquid Deo potest comparari homo, etiam cum perfectæ fuerit scientiæ? | “Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself. |
| 3 | What doth it profit God if thou be just? or what dost thou give him if thy way be unspotted? | Đấng Toàn Năng được lợi gì khi anh sống công chính,Người được ích chi khi anh sống vẹn toàn? | τί γὰρ μέλει τῷ κυρίῳ ἐὰν σὺ ἦσθα τοῖς ἔργοις ἄμεμπτος; ἢ ὠφελία ὅτι ἀπώσῃς τὴν ὁδόν σου; | הַחֵ֣פֶץ לְ֭שַׁדַּי כִּ֣י תִצְדָּ֑ק וְאִם בֶּ֝֗צַע כִּֽי תַתֵּ֥ם דְּרָכֶֽיךָ | Quid prodest Deo, si justus fueris? aut quid ei confers, si immaculata fuerit via tua? | Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or does it benefit him that you make your ways perfect? |
| 4 | Shall he reprove thee for fear, and come with thee into judgment: | Chẳng lẽ vì anh đạo đức mà Người sửa trị và đưa anh ra toà? | ἢ λόγον σου ποιούμενος ἐλέγξει σε, καὶ συνεισελεύσεταί σοι εἰς κρίσιν; | הֲֽ֭מִיִּרְאָ֣תְךָ יֹכִיחֶ֑ךָ יָב֥וֹא עִ֝מְּךָ֗ בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט | Numquid timens arguet te, et veniet tecum in judicium, | Is it for your piety that he reproves you, that he enters with you into judgment? |
| 5 | And not for thy manifold wickedness, and thy infinite iniquities? | Há chẳng phải vì anh đã làm vô số điều gian ácvà đã phạm muôn vàn lầm lỗi? | πότερον οὐχ ἡ κακία σού ἐστιν πολλή, ἀναρίθμητοι δέ σού εἰσιν αἱ ἁμαρτίαι; | הֲלֹ֣א רָעָֽתְךָ֣ רַבָּ֑ה וְאֵֽין קֵ֝֗ץ לַעֲוֺנֹתֶֽיךָ | et non propter malitiam tuam plurimam, et infinitas iniquitates tuas? | Isn’t your wickedness great? Neither is there any end to your iniquities. |
| 6 | For thou hast taken away the pledge of thy brethren without cause, and stripped the naked of their clothing. | Anh đòi anh em nộp của cầm mà chẳng có lý do,lại còn lột cả áo che thân của họ. | ἠνεχύραζες δὲ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου διὰ κενῆς, ἀμφίασιν δὲ γυμνῶν ἀφείλου· | כִּֽי תַחְבֹּ֣ל אַחֶ֣יךָ חִנָּ֑ם וּבִגְדֵ֖י עֲרוּמִּ֣ים תַּפְשִֽׁיט | Abstulisti enim pignus fratrum tuorum sine causa, et nudos spoliasti vestibus. | For you have taken pledges from your brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing. |
| 7 | Thou hast not given water to the weary, thou hast withdrawn bread from the hungry. | Kẻ mệt nhoài, anh chẳng cho nước uống,người đói lả, anh từ chối bánh ăn. | οὐδὲ ὕδωρ διψῶντας ἐπότισας, ἀλλὰ πεινώντων ἐστέρησας ψωμόν· | לֹא מַ֭יִם עָיֵ֣ף תַּשְׁקֶ֑ה וּ֝מֵרָעֵ֗ב תִּֽמְנַֽע לָֽחֶם | Aquam lasso non dedisti, et esurienti subtraxisti panem. | You haven’t given water to the weary to drink, and you have withheld bread from the hungry. |
| 8 | In the strength of thy arm thou didst possess the land, and being the most mighty thou holdest it. | Anh trao đất đai cho kẻ có quyền hành,và cho người thần thế được định cư. | ἐθαύμασας δέ τινων πρόσωπον, ᾤκισας δὲ τοὺς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς· | וְאִ֣ישׁ זְ֭רוֹעַ ל֣וֹ הָאָ֑רֶץ וּנְשׂ֥וּא פָ֝נִ֗ים יֵ֣שֶׁב בָּֽהּ | In fortitudine brachii tui possidebas terram, et potentissimus obtinebas eam. | But as for the mighty man, he had the earth. The honorable man, he lived in it. |
| 9 | Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless thou hast broken in pieces. | Các quả phụ, anh đuổi về tay trắng,các cô nhi, anh bắt phải bó tay. | χήρας δὲ ἐξαπέστειλας κενάς, ὀρφανοὺς δὲ ἐκάκωσας. | אַ֭לְמָנוֹת שִׁלַּ֣חְתָּ רֵיקָ֑ם וּזְרֹע֖וֹת יְתֹמִ֣ים יְדֻכָּֽא | Viduas dimisisti vacuas, et lacertos pupillorum comminuisti. | You have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken. |

| 11 | And didst thou think that thou shouldst not see darkness, and that thou shouldst not be covered with the violence of overflowing waters? | Ánh sáng ra tối tăm, anh đâu còn nhìn thấy,một khối nước phủ ngập thân anh. | τὸ φῶς σοι σκότος ἀπέβη, κοιμηθέντα δὲ ὕδωρ σε ἐκάλυψεν. | אוֹ חֹ֥שֶׁךְ לֹֽא תִרְאֶ֑ה וְֽשִׁפְעַת מַ֥יִם תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ | Et putabas te tenebras non visurum, et impetu aquarum inundantium non oppressum iri? | or darkness, so that you can not see, and floods of waters cover you. |
| 12 | Dost not thou think that God is higher than heaven, and is elevated above the height of the stars? | Nào chẳng phải Thiên Chúa ngự trên chốn cửu trùng,hãy nhìn các vì sao xa thăm thẳm: chúng cao vời biết mấy! | μὴ οὐχὶ ὁ τὰ ὑψηλὰ ναίων ἐφορᾷ, τοὺς δὲ ὕβρει φερομένους ἐταπείνωσεν; | הֲֽלֹא אֱ֭לוֹהַּ גֹּ֣בַהּ שָׁמָ֑יִם וּרְאֵ֤ה רֹ֖אשׁ כּוֹכָבִ֣ים כִּי רָֽמּוּ | an non cogitas quod Deus excelsior cælo sit, et super stellarum verticem sublimetur? | “Isn’t God in the heights of heaven? See the height of the stars, how high they are! |
| 13 | And thou sayst: What doth God know? and he judgeth as it were through a mist. | Anh từng bảo: “Thiên Chúa biết gì đâu?Qua tầng mây đen tối, làm sao Người xét xử? | καὶ εἶπας Τί ἔγνω ὁ ἰσχυρός, ἢ κατὰ τοῦ γνόφου κρίνει; | וְֽ֭אָמַרְתָּ מַה יָּ֣דַֽע אֵ֑ל הַבְעַ֖ד עֲרָפֶ֣ל יִשְׁפּֽוֹט | Et dicis: Quid enim novit Deus? et quasi per caliginem judicat. | You say, ‘What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? |
| 14 | The clouds are his covert, and he doth not consider our things, and he walketh about the poles of heaven. | Mây là tấm màn che khiến Người không nhìn thấy,Người đi trên vòm trời.” | νεφέλη ⸆ ἀποκρυφῆς αὐτοῦ, καὶ οὐχ ὁραθήσεται, καὶ γῦρον οὐρανοῦ διαπορεύεται. | עָבִ֣ים סֵֽתֶר ל֭וֹ וְלֹ֣א יִרְאֶ֑ה וְח֥וּג שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם יִתְהַלָּֽךְ | Nubes latibulum ejus, nec nostra considerat, et circa cardines cæli perambulat. | Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he doesn’t see. He walks on the vault of the sky.’ |
| 15 | Dost thou desire to keep the path of ages, which wicked men have trodden? | Anh có theo đường xưa lối cũ,đường lối hạng người tội lỗi đã đi? | μὴ τρίβον αἰώνιον φυλάξεις ἣν ἐπάτησαν ἄνδρες δίκαιοι, | הַאֹ֣רַח עוֹלָ֣ם תִּשְׁמֹ֑ר אֲשֶׁ֖ר דָּרְכ֣וּ מְתֵי אָֽוֶן | Numquid semitam sæculorum custodire cupis, quam calcaverunt viri iniqui, | Will you keep the old way, which wicked men have trodden, |
| 16 | Who were taken away before their time, and a flood hath overthrown their foundation. | Chúng bị quét sạch, dù chưa đến thời.Một con sông nhận chìm nền của chúng. | οἳ συνελήμφθησαν ἄωροι; ποταμὸς ἐπιρρέων οἱ θεμέλιοι αὐτῶν· | אֲשֶֽׁר קֻמְּט֥וּ וְלֹא עֵ֑ת נָ֝הָ֗ר יוּצַ֥ק יְסוֹדָֽם | qui sublati sunt ante tempus suum, et fluvius subvertit fundamentum eorum? | who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream, |
| 17 | Who said to God: Depart from us: and looked upon the Almighty as if he could do nothing: | Chúng thưa với Thiên Chúa: “Hãy tránh xa chúng tôi,Đấng Toàn Năng làm chi được chúng tôi nào?” | οἱ λέγοντες Κύριος τί ποιήσει ἡμῖν; ἢ τί ἐπάξεται ἡμῖν ὁ παντοκράτωρ; | הָאֹמְרִ֣ים לָ֭אֵל ס֣וּר מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וּמַה יִּפְעַ֖ל שַׁדַּ֣י לָֽמוֹ | Qui dicebant Deo: Recede a nobis: et quasi nihil posset facere Omnipotens, æstimabant eum, | who said to God, ‘Depart from us!’ and, ‘What can the Almighty do for us?’ |
| 18 | Whereas he had filled their houses with good things: whose way of thinking be far from me. | Nhưng nhà chúng, chính Người lại chất đầy của cải.Ước gì tôi lánh xa ý đồ của phường gian ác. | ὃς δὲ ἐνέπλησεν τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν ἀγαθῶν, βουλὴ δὲ ἀσεβῶν πόρρω ἀπ᾽ αὐτοῦ, | וְה֤וּא מִלֵּ֣א בָתֵּיהֶ֣ם ט֑וֹב וַעֲצַ֥ת רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים רָ֣חֲקָה מֶֽנִּי | cum ille implesset domos eorum bonis: quorum sententia procul sit a me. | Yet he filled their houses with good things, but the counsel of the wicked is far from me. |
| 19 | The just shall see, and shall rejoice, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorn. | Nhìn thấy chúng, người công chính vui mừng,người vô tội nhạo báng: | ἰδόντες δίκαιοι ἐγέλασαν, ἄμεμπτος δὲ ἐμυκτήρισεν· | יִרְא֣וּ צַדִּיקִ֣ים וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ וְ֝נָקִ֗י יִלְעַג לָֽמוֹ | Videbunt justi, et lætabuntur, et innocens subsannabit eos: | The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them, |
| 20 | Is not their exaltation cut down, and hath not fire devoured the remnants of them? | “Kẻ thù chúng ta hẳn đã bị tiêu diệtvà những gì chúng để lại đều bị lửa thiêu.” | εἰ μὴ ἠφανίσθη ἡ ὑπόστασις αὐτῶν, καὶ τὸ κατάλιμμα αὐτῶν καταφάγεται πῦρ. | אִם לֹ֣א נִכְחַ֣ד קִימָ֑נוּ וְ֝יִתְרָ֗ם אָ֣כְלָה אֵֽשׁ | nonne succisa est erectio eorum? et reliquias eorum devoravit ignis? | saying, ‘Surely those who rose up against us are cut off. The fire has consumed their remnant.’ |
| 21 | Submit thyself then to him, and be at peace: and thereby thou shalt have the best fruits. | Hãy sống thân tình với Thiên Chúa và xây dựng bình an,anh sẽ tìm lại được hạnh phúc. | γενοῦ δὴ σκληρός, ἐὰν ὑπομείνῃς· εἶτ᾽ ὁ καρπός σου ἔσται ἐν ἀγαθοῖς. | הַסְכֶּן נָ֣א עִמּ֑וֹ וּשְׁלם בָּ֝הֶ֗ם תְּֽבוֹאַתְךָ֥ טוֹבָֽה | Acquiesce igitur ei, et habeto pacem, et per hæc habebis fructus optimos. | “Acquaint yourself with him now, and be at peace. By it, good will come to you. |
| 22 | Receive the law of his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart. | Hãy đón nhận giáo huấn miệng Người phán ra,và đặt lời Người dạy trong tâm hồn. | ἔκβαλε δὲ ἐκ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐξηγορίαν, καὶ ἀνάλαβε τὰ ῥήματα αὐτοῦ ἐν καρδίᾳ σου. | קַח נָ֣א מִפִּ֣יו תּוֹרָ֑ה וְשִׂ֥ים אֲ֝מָרָ֗יו בִּלְבָבֶֽךָ | Suscipe ex ore illius legem, et pone sermones ejus in corde tuo. | Please receive instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in your heart. |
| 23 | If thou wilt return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, and shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacle. | Nếu anh trở lại cùng Đấng Toàn Năng và hạ mình xuống,nếu anh đuổi tội ác ra khỏi lều, | ἐὰν δὲ ἐπιστραφῇς καὶ ταπεινώσῃς σεαυτὸν ἔναντι Κυρίου, πόρρω ἐποίησας ἀπὸ διαίτης σου ἄδικον· | אִם תָּשׁ֣וּב עַד שַׁ֭דַּי תִּבָּנֶ֑ה תַּרְחִ֥יק עַ֝וְלָ֗ה מֵאָהֳלֶֽךָ | Si reversus fueris ad Omnipotentem, ædificaberis, et longe facies iniquitatem a tabernaculo tuo. | If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up, if you put away unrighteousness far from your tents. |
| 24 | He shall give for earth flint, and for flint torrents of gold. | nếu anh quẳng vàng xuống đất,liệng vàng Ô-phia giữa đá cuội lòng sông, | θήσῃ ἐπὶ χώματι ἐν πέτρᾳ, καὶ ὡς πέτρα χειμάρρου Σωφείρ. | וְשִׁית עַל עָפָ֥ר בָּ֑צֶר וּבְצ֖וּר נְחָלִ֣ים אוֹפִֽיר | Dabit pro terra silicem, et pro silice torrentes aureos. | Lay your treasure in the dust, the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. |
| 25 | And the Almighty shall be against thy enemies, and silver shall be heaped together for thee. | thì chính Đấng Toàn Năng sẽ là vàng,chính Người sẽ là bạc cho anh. | ἔσται οὖν σου ὁ παντοκράτωρ βοηθὸς ἀπὸ ἐχθρῶν, καθαρὸν δὲ ἀποδώσει σε ὥσπερ ἀργύριον πεπυρωμένον. | וְהָיָ֣ה שַׁדַּ֣י בְּצָרֶ֑יךָ וְכֶ֖סֶף תּוֹעָפ֣וֹת לָֽךְ | Eritque Omnipotens contra hostes tuos, et argentum coacervabitur tibi. | The Almighty will be your treasure, and precious silver to you. |
| 26 | Then shalt thou abound in delights in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face to God. | Bấy giờ anh sẽ lấy Đấng Toàn Năng làm nguồn hoan lạc,và sẽ ngẩng mặt lên hướng về Thiên Chúa. | εἶτα παρρησιασθήσῃ ἐναντίον Κυρίου, ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἱλαρῶς· | כִּי אָ֭ז עַל שַׁדַּ֣י תִּתְעַנָּ֑ג וְתִשָּׂ֖א אֶל אֱל֣וֹהַּ פָּנֶֽיךָ | Tunc super Omnipotentem deliciis afflues, et elevabis ad Deum faciem tuam. | For then you will delight yourself in the Almighty, and will lift up your face to God. |
| 27 | Thou shalt pray to him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay vows. | Khi anh cầu xin Người, Người sẽ nhậm lời anh,còn anh chỉ phải lo giữ trọn lời nguyền. | εὐξαμένου δέ σου πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰσακούσεταί σου, δώσει δέ σοι ἀποδοῦναι τὰς εὐχάς· | תַּעְתִּ֣יר אֵ֭לָיו וְיִשְׁמָעֶ֑ךָּ וּנְדָרֶ֥יךָ תְשַׁלֵּֽם | Rogabis eum, et exaudiet te, et vota tua reddes. | You will make your prayer to him, and he will hear you. You will pay your vows. |
| 28 | Thou shalt decree a thing, and it I shall come to thee, and light shall shine in thy ways. | Mọi điều anh dự định sẽ thành công,nẻo đường anh đi, ánh sáng sẽ bừng lên chiếu rọi. | ἀποκαταστήσει δέ σοι δίαιταν δικαιοσύνης, ἐπὶ δὲ ὁδοῖς σου ἔσται φέγγος. | וְֽתִגְזַר א֭וֹמֶר וְיָ֣קָם לָ֑ךְ וְעַל דְּ֝רָכֶ֗יךָ נָ֣גַֽהּ אֽוֹר | Decernes rem, et veniet tibi, et in viis tuis splendebit lumen. | You will also decree a thing, and it will be established to you. Light will shine on your ways. |
| 29 | For he that hath been humbled, shall be in glory: and he that shall bow down his eyes, he shall be saved. | Vì Người triệt hạ kẻ ăn nói kiêu căngvà cứu vớt ai khiêm nhường cúi mặt. | ὅτι ἐταπείνωσας σεαυτόν, καὶ ἐρεῖς Ὑπερηφανεύσατο, καὶ κύφοντα ὀφθαλμοῖς σώσει· | כִּֽי הִ֭שְׁפִּילוּ וַתֹּ֣אמֶר גֵּוָ֑ה וְשַׁ֖ח עֵינַ֣יִם יוֹשִֽׁעַ | Qui enim humiliatus fuerit, erit in gloria, et qui inclinaverit oculos, ipse salvabitur. | When they cast down, you will say, ‘be lifted up.’ He will save the humble person. |
| 30 | The innocent shall be saved, and he shall be saved by the cleanness of his hands. | Người giải thoát kẻ vô tội,anh sẽ được giải thoát nhờ bàn tay trong sạch của anh. | ῥύσεται ἀθῷον, καὶ διασώθητι ἐν καθαραῖς χερσίν σου. | יְֽמַלֵּ֥ט אִֽי נָקִ֑י וְ֝נִמְלַ֗ט בְּבֹ֣ר כַּפֶּֽיךָ | Salvabitur innocens: salvabitur autem in munditia manuum suarum.] | He will even deliver him who is not innocent. Yes, he will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.” |
