| 6 | These things which you see, the days will come in which there shall not be left a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down. | “Những gì anh em đang chiêm ngưỡng đó sẽ có ngày bị tàn phá hết, không còn tảng đá nào trên tảng đá nào.” | Ταῦτα ἃ θεωρεῖτε, ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ἐν αἷς οὐκ ἀφεθήσεται λίθος ἐπὶ ⸀λίθῳ ὃς οὐ καταλυθήσεται. | Hæc quæ videtis, venient dies in quibus non relinquetur lapis super lapidem, qui non destruatur. | “As for these things which you see, the days will come in which there will not be left here one stone on another that will not be thrown down.” |

| 8 | Who said: Take heed you be not seduced; for many will come in my name, saying, I am he; and the time is at hand: go ye not therefore after them. | Đức Giê-su đáp: “Anh em hãy coi chừng kẻo bị lừa gạt, vì sẽ có nhiều người mạo danh Thầy đến nói rằng: ‘Chính ta đây’, và: ‘Thời kỳ đã đến gần’; anh em chớ có theo họ. | ὁ δὲ εἶπεν· Βλέπετε μὴ πλανηθῆτε· πολλοὶ γὰρ ἐλεύσονται ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου ⸀λέγοντες· Ἐγώ εἰμι καί· Ὁ καιρὸς ἤγγικεν· ⸀μὴ πορευθῆτε ὀπίσω αὐτῶν. | Qui dixit: Videte ne seducamini: multi enim venient in nomine meo, dicentes quia ego sum: et tempus appropinquavit: nolite ergo ire post eos. | He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them. |
| 9 | And when you shall hear of wars and seditions, be not terrified: these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet presently. | Khi anh em nghe có chiến tranh, loạn lạc, thì đừng sợ hãi. Vì những việc đó phải xảy ra trước, nhưng chưa phải là chung cục ngay đâu.” | ὅταν δὲ ἀκούσητε πολέμους καὶ ἀκαταστασίας, μὴ πτοηθῆτε· δεῖ γὰρ ταῦτα γενέσθαι πρῶτον, ἀλλ’ οὐκ εὐθέως τὸ τέλος. | Cum autem audieritis prælia et seditiones, nolite terreri: oportet primum hæc fieri, sed nondum statim finis. | When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately.” |
| 10 | Then he said to them: Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. | Rồi Người nói tiếp: “Dân này sẽ nổi dậy chống dân kia, nước này chống nước nọ. | τότε ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς· Ἐγερθήσεται ἔθνος ἐπ’ ἔθνος καὶ βασιλεία ἐπὶ βασιλείαν, | Tunc dicebat illis: Surget gens contra gentem, et regnum adversus regnum. | Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. |
| 11 | And there shall be great earthquakes in divers places, and pestilences, and famines, and terrors from heaven; and there shall be great signs. | Sẽ có những trận động đất lớn, và nhiều nơi sẽ có ôn dịch và đói kém; sẽ có những hiện tượng kinh khủng và điềm lạ lớn lao từ trời xuất hiện. | σεισμοί τε μεγάλοι ⸂καὶ κατὰ τόπους⸃ ⸂λιμοὶ καὶ λοιμοὶ⸃ ἔσονται, φόβητρά τε καὶ ⸂σημεῖα ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ μεγάλα⸃ ἔσται. | Et terræmotus magni erunt per loca, et pestilentiæ, et fames, terroresque de cælo, et signa magna erunt. | There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven. |
| 12 | But before all these things, they will lay their hands upon you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, dragging you before kings and governors, for my name’s sake. | “Nhưng trước khi tất cả các sự ấy xảy ra, thì người ta sẽ tra tay bắt và ngược đãi anh em, nộp anh em cho các hội đường và bỏ tù, điệu anh em đến trước mặt vua chúa quan quyền vì danh Thầy. | Πρὸ δὲ τούτων πάντων ἐπιβαλοῦσιν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν καὶ διώξουσιν, παραδιδόντες εἰς ⸀τὰς συναγωγὰς καὶ φυλακάς, ⸀ἀπαγομένους ἐπὶ βασιλεῖς καὶ ἡγεμόνας ἕνεκεν τοῦ ὀνόματός μου· | Sed ante hæc omnia injicient vobis manus suas, et persequentur tradentes in synagogas et custodias, trahentes ad reges et præsides propter nomen meum: | But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake. |
| 13 | And it shall happen unto you for a testimony. | Đó sẽ là cơ hội để anh em làm chứng cho Thầy. | ⸀ἀποβήσεται ὑμῖν εἰς μαρτύριον. | continget autem vobis in testimonium. | It will turn out as a testimony for you. |
| 14 | Lay it up therefore into your hearts, not to meditate before how you shall answer: | Vậy anh em hãy ghi lòng tạc dạ điều này, là anh em đừng lo nghĩ phải bào chữa cách nào. | ⸀θέτε οὖν ⸂ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις⸃ ὑμῶν μὴ προμελετᾶν ἀπολογηθῆναι, | Ponite ergo in cordibus vestris non præmeditari quemadmodum respondeatis: | Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer, |
| 15 | For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to resist and gainsay. | Vì chính Thầy sẽ cho anh em ăn nói thật khôn ngoan, khiến tất cả địch thủ của anh em không tài nào chống chọi hay cãi lại được. | ἐγὼ γὰρ δώσω ὑμῖν στόμα καὶ σοφίαν ᾗ οὐ δυνήσονται ⸂ἀντιστῆναι ἢ ἀντειπεῖν⸃ ⸀ἅπαντες οἱ ἀντικείμενοι ὑμῖν. | ego enim dabo vobis os et sapientiam, cui non poterunt resistere et contradicere omnes adversarii vestri. | for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict. |
| 16 | And you shall be betrayed by your parents and brethren, and kinsmen and friends; and some of you they will put to death. | Anh em sẽ bị chính cha mẹ, anh chị em, bà con và bạn hữu bắt nộp. They will cause some of you to be put to death. |
| 17 | And you shall be hated by all men for my name’s sake. | Vì danh Thầy, anh em sẽ bị mọi người thù ghét. | καὶ ἔσεσθε μισούμενοι ὑπὸ πάντων διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου. | et eritis odio omnibus propter nomen meum: | You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake. |
| 18 | But a hair of your head shall not perish. | Nhưng dù một sợi tóc trên đầu anh em cũng không bị mất đâu. | καὶ θρὶξ ἐκ τῆς κεφαλῆς ὑμῶν οὐ μὴ ἀπόληται. | et capillus de capite vestro non peribit. | And not a hair of your head will perish. |
| 19 | In your patience you shall possess your souls. | Có kiên trì, anh em mới giữ được mạng sống mình.Mt 24,15-19; Mc 13,14-17 | ἐν τῇ ὑπομονῇ ὑμῶν ⸀κτήσασθε τὰς ψυχὰς ὑμῶν. | In patientia vestra possidebitis animas vestras. | “By your endurance you will win your lives. |
| 20 | And when you shall see Jerusalem compassed about with an army; then know that the desolation thereof is at hand. | “Khi anh em thấy thành Giê-ru-sa-lem bị các đạo binh vây hãm, bấy giờ anh em hãy biết rằng đã gần đến ngày khốc hại của thành. | Ὅταν δὲ ἴδητε κυκλουμένην ὑπὸ ⸀στρατοπέδων Ἰερουσαλήμ, τότε γνῶτε ὅτι ἤγγικεν ἡ ἐρήμωσις αὐτῆς. | Cum autem videritis circumdari ab exercitu Jerusalem, tunc scitote quia appropinquavit desolatio ejus: | “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand. |
| 21 | Then let those who are in Judea, flee to the mountains; and those who are in the midst thereof, depart out: and those who are in the countries, not enter into it. | Bấy giờ, ai ở miền Giu-đê, hãy trốn lên núi; ai ở trong thành, hãy bỏ đi nơi khác; ai ở vùng quê, thì chớ vào thành. | τότε οἱ ἐν τῇ Ἰουδαίᾳ φευγέτωσαν εἰς τὰ ὄρη, καὶ οἱ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς ἐκχωρείτωσαν, καὶ οἱ ἐν ταῖς χώραις μὴ εἰσερχέσθωσαν εἰς αὐτήν, | tunc qui in Judæa sunt, fugiant ad montes, et qui in medio ejus, discedant: et qui in regionibus, non intrent in eam, | Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein. |
| 22 | For these are the days of vengeance, that all things may be fulfilled, that are written. | Thật vậy, đó sẽ là những ngày báo oán, ngày mà tất cả những gì đã chép trong Kinh Thánh sẽ được ứng nghiệm. | ὅτι ἡμέραι ἐκδικήσεως αὗταί εἰσιν τοῦ πλησθῆναι πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα. | quia dies ultionis hi sunt, ut impleantur omnia quæ scripta sunt. | For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. |
| 23 | But woe to them that are with child, and give suck in those days; for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. | Khốn thay những người mang thai và những người đang cho con bú trong những ngày đó! “Vì sẽ có cơn khốn khổ cùng cực trên đất này, và cơn thịnh nộ sẽ giáng xuống dân này. | ⸀οὐαὶ ταῖς ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσαις καὶ ταῖς θηλαζούσαις ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις· ἔσται γὰρ ἀνάγκη μεγάλη ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ⸀ὀργὴ τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ, | Væ autem prægnantibus et nutrientibus in illis diebus! erit enim pressura magna super terram, et ira populo huic. | Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath to this people. |
| 24 | And they shall fall by the edge of the sword; and shall be led away captives into all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles; till the times of the nations be fulfilled. | Họ sẽ ngã gục dưới lưỡi gươm, sẽ bị đày đi khắp các dân các nước, và Giê-ru-sa-lem sẽ bị dân ngoại giày xéo, cho đến khi mãn thời của dân ngoại.Mt 24,29-31; Mc 13,24-27 | καὶ πεσοῦνται στόματι μαχαίρης καὶ αἰχμαλωτισθήσονται εἰς ⸂τὰ ἔθνη πάντα⸃, καὶ Ἰερουσαλὴμ ἔσται πατουμένη ὑπὸ ἐθνῶν, ἄχρι ⸀οὗ ⸀πληρωθῶσιν καιροὶ ἐθνῶν. | Et cadent in ore gladii, et captivi ducentur in omnes gentes, et Jerusalem calcabitur a gentibus, donec impleantur tempora nationum. | They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. |
| 25 | And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, by reason of the confusion of the roaring of the sea and of the waves; | “Sẽ có những điềm lạ trên mặt trời, mặt trăng và các vì sao. Dưới đất, muôn dân sẽ lo lắng hoang mang trước cảnh biển gào sóng thét. | Καὶ ⸀ἔσονται σημεῖα ἐν ἡλίῳ καὶ σελήνῃ καὶ ἄστροις, καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς συνοχὴ ἐθνῶν ἐν ἀπορίᾳ ⸀ἤχους θαλάσσης καὶ σάλου, | Et erunt signa in sole, et luna, et stellis, et in terris pressura gentium præ confusione sonitus maris, et fluctuum: | “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves; |
| 26 | Men withering away for fear, and expectation of what shall come upon the whole world. For the powers of heaven shall be moved; | Người ta sợ đến hồn xiêu phách lạc, chờ những gì sắp giáng xuống địa cầu, vì các quyền lực trên trời sẽ bị lay chuyển. | ἀποψυχόντων ἀνθρώπων ἀπὸ φόβου καὶ προσδοκίας τῶν ἐπερχομένων τῇ οἰκουμένῃ, αἱ γὰρ δυνάμεις τῶν οὐρανῶν σαλευθήσονται. | arescentibus hominibus præ timore, et exspectatione, quæ supervenient universo orbi: nam virtutes cælorum movebuntur: | men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. |
| 27 | And then they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with great power and majesty. | Bấy giờ thiên hạ sẽ thấy Con Người đầy quyền năng và vinh quang ngự trong đám mây mà đến. | καὶ τότε ὄψονται τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐρχόμενον ἐν νεφέλῃ μετὰ δυνάμεως καὶ δόξης πολλῆς. | et tunc videbunt Filium hominis venientem in nube cum potestate magna et majestate. | Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. |
| 28 | But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is at hand. | Khi những biến cố ấy bắt đầu xảy ra, anh em hãy đứng thẳng và ngẩng đầu lên, vì anh em sắp được cứu chuộc.”Mt 24,32-35; Mc 13,28-31 | ἀρχομένων δὲ τούτων γίνεσθαι ἀνακύψατε καὶ ἐπάρατε τὰς κεφαλὰς ὑμῶν, διότι ἐγγίζει ἡ ἀπολύτρωσις ὑμῶν. | His autem fieri incipientibus, respicite, et levate capita vestra: quoniam appropinquat redemptio vestra. | But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.” |

See the fig tree, and all the trees: | Đức Giê-su kể cho các môn đệ nghe một dụ ngôn: “Anh em hãy xem cây vả cũng như tất cả những cây khác. | Καὶ εἶπεν παραβολὴν αὐτοῖς· Ἴδετε τὴν συκῆν καὶ πάντα τὰ δένδρα· | Et dixit illis similitudinem: Videte ficulneam, et omnes arbores: | He told them a parable. “See the fig tree and all the trees. |
| 30 | When they now shoot forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh; | Khi cây đâm chồi, anh em nhìn thì đủ biết là mùa hè đã đến gần rồi. | ὅταν προβάλωσιν ἤδη, βλέποντες ἀφ’ ἑαυτῶν γινώσκετε ὅτι ἤδη ἐγγὺς τὸ θέρος ἐστίν· | cum producunt jam ex se fructum, scitis quoniam prope est æstas. | When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near. |
| 31 | So you also, when you shall see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is at hand. | Anh em cũng vậy, khi thấy những điều đó xảy ra, thì hãy biết là Triều Đại Thiên Chúa đã đến gần. | οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς, ὅταν ἴδητε ταῦτα γινόμενα, γινώσκετε ὅτι ἐγγύς ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ. | Ita et vos cum videritis hæc fieri, scitote quoniam prope est regnum Dei. | Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that God’s Kingdom is near. |
| 32 | Amen, I say to you, this generation shall not pass away, till all things be fulfilled. | Thầy bảo thật anh em: thế hệ này sẽ chẳng qua đi, trước khi mọi điều ấy xảy ra. | ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὐ μὴ παρέλθῃ ἡ γενεὰ αὕτη ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται. | Amen dico vobis, quia non præteribit generatio hæc, donec omnia fiant. | Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished. |
| 33 | Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. | Trời đất sẽ qua đi, nhưng những lời Thầy nói sẽ chẳng qua đâu. | ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ ⸀παρελεύσονται, οἱ δὲ λόγοι μου οὐ μὴ παρελεύσονται. | Cælum et terra transibunt: verba autem mea non transibunt. | Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away. |
| 34 | And take heed to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly. | “Vậy anh em phải đề phòng, chớ để lòng mình ra nặng nề vì chè chén say sưa, lo lắng sự đời, kẻo Ngày ấy như một chiếc lưới bất thần chụp xuống đầu anh em, | Προσέχετε δὲ ἑαυτοῖς μήποτε βαρηθῶσιν ⸂ὑμῶν αἱ καρδίαι⸃ ἐν κραιπάλῃ καὶ μέθῃ καὶ μερίμναις βιωτικαῖς, καὶ ⸂ἐπιστῇ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς αἰφνίδιος⸃ ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη | Attendite autem vobis, ne forte graventur corda vestra in crapula, et ebrietate, et curis hujus vitæ, et superveniat in vos repentina dies illa: | “So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly. |
| 35 | For as a snare shall it come upon all that sit upon the face of the whole earth. | vì Ngày ấy sẽ ập xuống trên mọi dân cư khắp mặt đất. | ὡς παγίς· ⸂ἐπεισελεύσεται γὰρ⸃ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς καθημένους ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς. | tamquam laqueus enim superveniet in omnes qui sedent super faciem omnis terræ. | For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth. |
