And an angel of the Lord went up from Galgal to the place of weepers, and said: I made you go out of Egypt, and have brought you into the land for which I swore to your fathers: and I promised that I would not make void my covenant with you for ever:Thần sứ của ĐỨC CHÚA từ Ghin-gan lên Bô-khim và nói: “Ta đã đưa các ngươi lên từ Ai-cập và dẫn vào đất Ta đã thề ban cho tổ tiên các ngươi. וַיַּ֧עַל מַלְאַךְ יְהוָ֛ה מִן הַגִּלְגָּ֖ל אֶל הַבֹּכִ֑ים וַיֹּאמֶר֩ אַעֲלֶ֨ה אֶתְכֶ֜ם מִמִּצְרַ֗יִם וָאָבִ֤יא אֶתְכֶם֙ אֶל הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נִשְׁבַּ֨עְתִּי֙ לַאֲבֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם וָאֹמַ֕ר לֹֽא אָפֵ֧ר בְּרִיתִ֛י אִתְּכֶ֖ם לְעוֹלָֽםAscenditque angelus Domini de Galgalis ad Locum flentium, et ait: Eduxi vos de Ægypto, et introduxi in terram, pro qua juravi patribus vestris: et pollicitus sum ut non facerem irritum pactum meum vobiscum in sempiternum,The LORD’s angel came up from Gilgal to Bochim. He said, “I brought you out of Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to give your fathers. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you.
On condition that you should not make a league with the inhabitants of this land, but should throw down their altars: and you would not hear my voice: why have you done this?Còn các ngươi thì không được kết ước với dân cư trong xứ này; phải triệt hạ các bàn thờ của chúng. You shall make no covenant with the inhabitants of this land. 3Wherefore I would not destroy them from before your face: that you may have enemies, and their gods may be your ruin.Vậy Ta bảo: Ta sẽ không đuổi chúng cho khuất mắt các ngươi, và chúng sẽ sống kè kè bên các ngươi; các thần của chúng sẽ là cạm bẫy cho các ngươi.”κἀγὼ εἶπον Οὐ μὴ ἐξαρῶ αὐτοὺς ἐκ προσώπου ὑμῶν, καὶ ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς συνοχάς, καὶ οἱ θεοὶ αὐτῶν ἔσονται ὑμῖν εἰς σκάνδαλον.וְגַ֣ם אָמַ֔רְתִּי לֹֽא אֲגָרֵ֥שׁ אוֹתָ֖ם מִפְּנֵיכֶ֑ם וְהָי֤וּ לָכֶם֙ לְצִדִּ֔ים וֵאלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם יִהְי֥וּ לָכֶ֖ם לְמוֹקֵֽשׁQuam ob rem nolui delere eos a facie vestra: ut habeatis hostes, et dii eorum sint vobis in ruinam. Therefore I also said, ‘I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be in your sides, and their gods will be a snare to you.’”
And when the angel of the Lord spoke these words to all the children of Israel, they lifted up their voice, and wept. When the LORD’s angel spoke these words to all the children of Israel, the people lifted up their voice and wept.
And the name of that place was called, The place of weepers, or of tears: and there they offered sacrifices to the Lord. They called the name of that place Bochim, and they sacrificed there to the LORD.
And Josue sent away the people, and the children of Israel went every one to his own possession to hold it:Bấy giờ ông Giô-suê giải tán dân chúng, và con cái Ít-ra-en ai nấy về nơi mình đã trúng thăm làm gia nghiệp, để chiếm hữu đất đai.Καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Ἰησοῦς τὸν λαόν, καὶ ἦλθεν ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν.וַיְשַׁלַּ֥ח יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ אֶת הָעָ֑ם וַיֵּלְכ֧וּ בְנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל אִ֥ישׁ לְנַחֲלָת֖וֹ לָרֶ֥שֶׁת אֶת הָאָֽרֶץDimisit ergo Josue populum, et abierunt filii Israël unusquisque in possessionem suam, ut obtinerent eam:Now when Joshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel each went to his inheritance to possess the land.
And they served the Lord all his days, and the days of the ancients, that lived a long time after him, and who knew all the works of the Lord, which he had done for Israel.Dân đã phục vụ ĐỨC CHÚA suốt thời ông Giô-suê và suốt thời các kỳ mục là những người sống lâu sau ông Giô-suê, và đã chứng kiến tất cả những công cuộc vĩ đại ĐỨC CHÚA đã thực hiện cho Ít-ra-en.καὶ ἐδούλευσεν ὁ λαὸς τῷ κυρίῳ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας Ἰησοῦ καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῶν πρεσβυτέρων, ὅσοι ἐμακροημέρευσαν μετὰ Ἰησοῦ, ὅσοι ἔγνωσαν πᾶν τὸ ἔργον Κυρίου τὸ μέγα, ὅσα ἐποίησεν ἐν τῷ Ἰσραήλ. The people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work of the LORD that he had worked for Israel.
And Josue the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being a hundred and ten years old,Ông Giô-suê, con ông Nun, tôi trung của ĐỨC CHÚA, từ trần, thọ một trăm mười tuổi.καὶ ἐτελεύτησεν Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυὴ δοῦλος Κυρίου, υἱὸς ἑκατὸν δέκα ἐτῶν.וַיָּ֛מָת יְהוֹשֻׁ֥עַ בִּן נ֖וּן עֶ֣בֶד יְהוָ֑ה בֶּן מֵאָ֥ה וָעֶ֖שֶׂר שָׁנִֽיםMortuus est autem Josue filius Nun, famulus Domini, centum et decem annorum,Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being one hundred ten years old.
And they buried him in the borders of his possession in Thamnathsare in mount Ephraim, on the north side of mount Gaas. וַיִּקְבְּר֤וּ אוֹתוֹ֙ בִּגְב֣וּל נַחֲלָת֔וֹ בְּתִמְנַת חֶ֖רֶס בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם מִצְּפ֖וֹן לְהַר גָּֽעַשׁet sepelierunt eum in finibus possessionis suæ in Thamnathsare in monte Ephraim, a septentrionali plaga montis Gaas. They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, on the north of the mountain of Gaash.
And all that generation was gathered to their fathers: and there arose others that knew not the Lord, and the works which he had done for Israel. After all that generation were gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who didn’t know the LORD, nor the work which he had done for Israel.
And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they served Baalim.Con cái Ít-ra-en đã làm điều dữ trái mắt ĐỨC CHÚA, và đã làm tôi các thần Ba-an.Καὶ ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον Κυρίου, καὶ ἐλάτρευσαν τοῖς Βααλείμ. Feceruntque filii Israël malum in conspectu Domini, et servierunt Baalim. The children of Israel did that which was evil in the LORD’s sight, and served the Baals.
And they left the Lord the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Egypt: and they followed strange gods, and the gods of the people that dwelt round about them, and they adored them: and they provoked the Lord to anger.Họ đã lìa bỏ ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của tổ tiên, Đấng đã đưa họ ra khỏi đất Ai-cập, và họ đã đi theo các thần ngoại lai trong số các thần của các dân chung quanh. He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, so that they could no longer stand before their enemies.
But whithersoever they meant to go, the hand of the Lord was upon them, as he had said, and as he had sworn to them: and they were greatly distressed.Cứ mỗi lần họ xuất trận là tay ĐỨC CHÚA giáng hoạ trên họ, như ĐỨC CHÚA đã phán và thề với họ. Wherever they went out, the LORD’s hand was against them for evil, as the LORD had spoken, and as the LORD had sworn to them; and they were very distressed.
And the Lord raised up judges, to deliver them from the hands of those that oppressed them: but they would not hearken to them,Bấy giờ ĐỨC CHÚA cho xuất hiện các thủ lãnh để giải thoát họ khỏi tay những kẻ cướp phá họ.καὶ ἤγειρεν Κύριος κριτάς, καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς Κύριος ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν προνομευόντων αὐτούς.וַיָּ֥קֶם יְהוָ֖ה שֹֽׁפְטִ֑ים וַיּ֣וֹשִׁיע֔וּם מִיַּ֖ד שֹׁסֵיהֶֽםSuscitavitque Dominus judices, qui liberarent eos de vastantium manibus: sed nec eos audire voluerunt,The LORD raised up judges, who saved them out of the hand of those who plundered them.
Committing fornication with strange gods, and adoring them. They quickly forsook the way, in which their fathers had walked: and hearing the commandments of the Lord, they did all things contrary. Yet they didn’t listen to their judges; for they prostituted themselves to other gods, and bowed themselves down to them. They quickly turned away from the way in which their fathers walked, obeying the LORD’s commandments. They didn’t do so.
And when the Lord raised them up judges, in their days he was moved to mercy, and heard the groanings of the afflicted, and delivered them from the slaughter of the oppressors.Khi ĐỨC CHÚA cho xuất hiện các thủ lãnh để giúp họ, thì ĐỨC CHÚA ở với vị thủ lãnh và Người cứu họ khỏi tay quân thù bao lâu vị thủ lãnh còn sống, vì ĐỨC CHÚA động lòng trắc ẩn trước những tiếng than khóc của họ, khi họ bị đàn áp và ức hiếp.καὶ ὅτι ἤγειρεν Κύριος κριτὰς αὐτοῖς, καὶ ἦν Κύριος μετὰ τοῦ κριτοῦ, καὶ ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ κριτοῦ· ὅτι παρεκλήθη Κύριος ἀπὸ τοῦ στεναγμοῦ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ προσώπου τῶν πολιορκούντων αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐκθλιβόντων αὐτούς. When the LORD raised up judges for them, then the LORD was with the judge, and saved them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for it grieved the LORD because of their groaning by reason of those who oppressed them and troubled them.
But after the judge was dead, they returned, and did much worse things than their fathers had done, following strange gods, serving them and adoring them. They left not their own inventions, and the stubborn way, by which they were accustomed to walk.Nhưng sau khi vị thủ lãnh qua đời thì họ lại ra hư đốn hơn cả cha ông họ. But when the judge was dead, they turned back, and dealt more corruptly than their fathers in following other gods to serve them and to bow down to them. They didn’t cease what they were doing, or give up their stubborn ways.
And the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he said: Behold this nation hath made void my covenant, which I had made with their fathers, and hath despised to hearken to my voice:ĐỨC CHÚA nổi cơn thịnh nộ với Ít-ra-en; Người phán: “Vì lũ dân này đã vi phạm giao ước Ta đã truyền cho cha ông chúng phải giữ, và chúng đã không nghe tiếng Ta,καὶ ὠργίσθη θυμῷ Κύριος ἐν τῷ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἶπεν Ἀνθ᾽ ὧν ὅσα ἐγκατέλιπον τὸ ἔθνος τοῦτο τὴν διαθήκην μου ἥν ἐνετειλάμην τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσαν τῆς φωνῆς μου,וַיִּֽחַר אַ֥ף יְהוָ֖ה בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיֹּ֗אמֶר יַעַן֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָבְר֜וּ הַגּ֣וֹי הַזֶּ֗ה אֶת בְּרִיתִי֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוִּ֣יתִי אֶת אֲבוֹתָ֔ם וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ לְקוֹלִֽיIratusque est furor Domini in Israël, et ait: Quia irritum fecit gens ista pactum meum, quod pepigeram cum patribus eorum, et vocem meam audire contempsit:The LORD’s anger burned against Israel; and he said, “Because this nation transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to my voice,

The Lord therefore left all these nations, and would not quickly destroy them, neither did he deliver them into the hands of Josue.Vậy ĐỨC CHÚA đã để cho các dân ấy tiếp tục tồn tại mà không vội trục xuất chúng, cũng chẳng trao chúng vào tay ông Giô-suê.καὶ ἀφήσει Κύριος τὰ ἔθνη ταῦτα τοῦ μὴ ἐξᾶραι αὐτὰ τὸ τάχος, καὶ οὐ παρέδωκεν αὐτὰ ἐν χειρὶ Ἰησοῦ.וַיַּנַּ֤ח יְהוָה֙ אֶת הַגּוֹיִ֣ם הָאֵ֔לֶּה לְבִלְתִּ֥י הוֹרִישָׁ֖ם מַהֵ֑ר וְלֹ֥א נְתָנָ֖ם בְּיַד יְהוֹשֻֽׁעַDimisit ergo Dominus omnes nationes has, et cito subvertere noluit, nec tradidit in manus Josue. So the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily.
