| 1 | Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. | ĐỨC CHÚA khiến một con cá lớn nuốt ông Giô-na. Ông Giô-na ở trong bụng cá ba ngày ba đêm. | Καὶ προσέταξεν Κύριος κήτει μεγάλῳ καταπιεῖν τὸν Ἰωνᾶν· καὶ ἦν Ἰωνᾶς ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ τοῦ κήτους τρεῖς ἡμέρας καὶ τρεῖς νύκτας. | וַיְמַ֤ן יְהוָה֙ דָּ֣ג גָּד֔וֹל לִבְלֹ֖עַ אֶת יוֹנָ֑ה וַיְהִ֤י יוֹנָה֙ בִּמְעֵ֣י הַדָּ֔ג שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה יָמִ֖ים וּשְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה לֵילֽוֹת | Et præparavit Dominus piscem grandem ut deglutiret Jonam: et erat Jonas in ventre piscis tribus diebus et tribus noctibus. | Then Jonah prayed to the LORD, his God, out of the fish’s belly. |

| 3 | And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice. | Ông nói:Từ cảnh ngặt nghèo,tôi kêu lên ĐỨC CHÚA,Người đã thương đáp lời.Lạy Chúa,từ lòng âm phủ, con cầu cứu,Ngài đã nghe tiếng con. | καὶ εἶπεν Ἐβόησα ἐν θλίψει μου πρὸς Κύριον τὸν θεόν μου, καὶ εἰσήκουσέν μου. ἐκ κοιλίας ᾅδου κραυγῆς μου ἤκουσας φωνῆς μου· | וַיֹּ֗אמֶר קָ֠רָאתִי מִצָּ֥רָה לִ֛י אֶל יְהוָ֖ה וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑נִי מִבֶּ֧טֶן שְׁא֛וֹל שִׁוַּ֖עְתִּי שָׁמַ֥עְתָּ קוֹלִֽי | et dixit: [Clamavi de tribulatione mea ad Dominum, et exaudivit me; de ventre inferi clamavi, et exaudisti vocem meam. | For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me. |
| 4 | And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me. | Ngài đã ném con vào vực sâu,giữa lòng biển,làn nước mênh mông vây bọc con,sóng cồn theo nước cuốn,Ngài để cho tràn ngập thân này. | ἀπέρριψάς με εἰς βάθη καρδίας θαλάσσης, καὶ ποταμοί με ἐκύκλωσαν, πάντες οἱ μετεωρισμοί σου καὶ τὰ κύματά σου ἐπ᾽ ἐμὲ διῆλθον. | וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵ֤נִי מְצוּלָה֙ בִּלְבַ֣ב יַמִּ֔ים וְנָהָ֖ר יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי כָּל מִשְׁבָּרֶ֥יךָ וְגַלֶּ֖יךָ עָלַ֥י עָבָֽרוּ | Et projecisti me in profundum in corde maris, et flumen circumdedit me: omnes gurgites tui, et fluctus tui super me transierunt. | I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’ |
| 5 | And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again. | Con đã nói: “Con bị đuổi đikhuất mắt Chúa rồi!Nhưng con vẫn hướng nhìn vềthánh điện của Chúa.” | καὶ ἐγώ εἶπα Ἀπῶσμαι ἐξ ὀφθαλμῶν σου· ἄρα προσθήσω τοῦ ἐπιβλέψαι πρὸς τὸν ναὸν τὸν ἅγιόν σου· | וַאֲנִ֣י אָמַ֔רְתִּי נִגְרַ֖שְׁתִּי מִנֶּ֣גֶד עֵינֶ֑יךָ אַ֚ךְ אוֹסִ֣יף לְהַבִּ֔יט אֶל הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ | Et ego dixi: Abjectus sum a conspectu oculorum tuorum; verumtamen rursus videbo templum sanctum tuum. | The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head. |
| 6 | The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head. | Nước bủa vây con đến cổ,vực thẳm vây bọc con,trên đầu con,rong rêu quấn chằng chịt. | περιεχύθη ὕδωρ μοι ἕως ψυχῆς, ἄβυσσος ἐκύκλωσέν με ἐσχάτη, ἔδυ ἡ κεφαλή μου εἰς σχισμὰς ὀρέων, | אֲפָפ֤וּנִי מַ֨יִם֙ עַד נֶ֔פֶשׁ תְּה֖וֹם יְסֹבְבֵ֑נִי ס֖וּף חָב֥וּשׁ לְרֹאשִֽׁי | Circumdederunt me aquæ usque ad animam: abyssus vallavit me, pelagus operuit caput meum. | I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever; yet you have brought my life up from the pit, LORD my God. |
| 7 | I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God. | Con đã xuốngtận nền móng núi non,cửa lòng đấtđã cài then nhốt con mãi mãi.Nhưng Ngài đã đưa sự sốngcủa con lên khỏi huyệt,lạy ĐỨC CHÚAlà Thiên Chúa của con. | κατέβην εἰς γῆν ἧς οἱ μοχλοὶ αὐτῆς κάτοχοι αἰώνιοι· καὶ ἀναβήτω φθορὰ ζωῆς μου, Κύριε ὁ θεός μου, | לְקִצְבֵ֤י הָרִים֙ יָרַ֔דְתִּי הָאָ֛רֶץ בְּרִחֶ֥יהָ בַעֲדִ֖י לְעוֹלָ֑ם וַתַּ֧עַל מִשַּׁ֛חַת חַיַּ֖י יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽי | Ad extrema montium descendi; terræ vectes concluserunt me in æternum: et sublevabis de corruptione vitam meam, Domine Deus meus. | “When my soul fainted within me, I remembered the LORD. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple. |
| 8 | When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple. | Khi mạng sống con hầu tàn,con đã nhớ đến ĐỨC CHÚAvà lời cầu nguyện của conđã tới Ngài,tới đền thánh của Ngài. | ἐν τῷ ἐκλιπεῖν ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ τὴν ψυχήν μου τοῦ κυρίου ἐμνήσθην, καὶ ἔλθοι πρὸς σὲ ἡ εὐχή μου εἰς ναὸν ἅγιόν σου. | בְּהִתְעַטֵּ֤ף עָלַי֙ נַפְשִׁ֔י אֶת יְהוָ֖ה זָכָ֑רְתִּי וַתָּב֤וֹא אֵלֶ֨יךָ֙ תְּפִלָּתִ֔י אֶל הֵיכַ֖ל קָדְשֶֽׁךָ | Cum angustiaretur in me anima mea, Domini recordatus sum: ut veniat ad te oratio mea, ad templum sanctum tuum. | Those who regard vain idols forsake their own mercy. |
| 9 | They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy. | Bọn thờ thần hư ảo, chớ gì chúngbỏ điều chúng vẫn tôn sùng. | φυλασσόμενοι μάταια καὶ ψευδῆ ἔλεος αὐτῶν ἐγκατέλιπον. | מְשַׁמְּרִ֖ים הַבְלֵי שָׁ֑וְא חַסְדָּ֖ם יַעֲזֹֽבוּ | Qui custodiunt vanitates frustra, misericordiam suam derelinquunt. | But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to the LORD.” |
| 10 | But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord. | Phần con, giữa tiếng hát tạ ơn,con sẽ tiến dâng Ngài hy lễ;con xin giữ trọnđiều đã khấn nguyền.ĐỨC CHÚA mới là Đấngban ơn cứu độ. | ἐγὼ δὲ μετὰ φωνῆς αἰνέσεως καὶ ἐξομολογήσεως θύσω σοι, ὅσα ηὐξάμην ἀποδώσω σοι σωτηρίου τῷ κυρίῳ. | וַאֲנִ֗י בְּק֤וֹל תּוֹדָה֙ אֶזְבְּחָה לָּ֔ךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נָדַ֖רְתִּי אֲשַׁלֵּ֑מָה יְשׁוּעָ֖תָה לַיהוָֽה | Ego autem in voce laudis immolabo tibi: quæcumque vovi, reddam pro salute Domino.] | Then the LORD spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land. |
