Wherefore the Lord our God hath made good his word, that he spoke to us, and to our judges that have judged Israel, and to our kings, and to our princes, and to all Israel and Juda: | Vì thế Đức Chúa thi hành lời đã phán liên quan đến chúng tôi, đến các thẩm phán lãnh đạo Ít-ra-en, đến các vua và thủ lãnh của chúng tôi, đến người Ít-ra-en và Giu-đa. Therefore the Lord has made good his word which he pronounced against us, and against our judges who judged Israel, and against our kings, and against our princes, and against the men of Israel and Judah,
That the Lord would bring upon us great evils, such as never happened under heaven, as they have come to pass in Jerusalem, according to the things that are written in the law of Moses: | Dưới cả vòm trời này, chưa hề xảy ra điều gì giống điều Người đã thực hiện tại Giê-ru-sa-lem, như đã chép trong Luật Mô-sê: | οὐκ ἐποιήθη ὑποκάτω παντὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καθὰ ἐποίησεν ἐν Ἰερουσαλήμ, κατὰ τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τῷ νόμῳ Μωυσῆ, | ut adduceret Dominus super nos mala magna, quæ non sunt facta sub cælo quemadmodum facta sunt in Jerusalem, secundum quæ scripta sunt in lege Moysi, | to bring upon us great plagues such as never happened before under the whole heaven, as it came to pass in Jerusalem, according to the things that are written in the law of Moses,
That a man should eat the flesh of his own son, and the flesh of his own daughter. ⸆ | et manducaret homo carnes filii sui et carnes filiæ suæ. | that we should each eat the flesh of our own son, and each eat the flesh of our own daughter.
And he hath delivered them up to be under the hand of all the kings that are round about us, to be a reproach, and desolation among all the people, among whom the Lord hath scattered us. | Et dedit eos sub manu regum omnium qui sunt in circuitu nostro, in improperium et in desolationem in omnibus populis in quibus nos dispersit Dominus: | Moreover he has given them to be in subjection to all the kingdoms that are around us, to be a reproach and a desolation among all the people around us, where the Lord has scattered them.
And we are brought under, and are not uppermost: because we have sinned against the Lord our God, by not obeying his voice. | Thus they were cast down and not exalted, because we sinned against the Lord our God in not listening to his voice.
To the Lord our God belongeth justice: but to us, and to our fathers confusion of face, as at this day. | Domino Deo nostro justitia, nobis autem et patribus nostris confusio faciei, sicut est dies hæc: | To the Lord our God belongs righteousness, but to us and to our fathers confusion of face, as at this day.
For the Lord hath pronounced against us all these evils that are come upon us: | Tất cả những tai hoạ Đức Chúa đe sẽ dùng mà trừng phạt chúng tôi, đã xảy đến cho chúng tôi rồi. | quia locutus est Dominus super nos omnia mala hæc quæ venerunt super nos: | All these plagues have come upon us which the Lord has pronounced against us.
And we have not entreated the face of the Lord our God, that we might return every one of us from our most wicked ways. | Yet have we not entreated the favor of the Lord by everyone turning from the thoughts of his wicked heart.
And the Lord hath watched over us for evil, and hath brought it upon us: for the Lord is just in all his works which he hath commanded us: | Cho nên Đức Chúa đã canh chừng và đã giáng những tai hoạ ấy xuống trên chúng tôi; vì trong mọi việc Đức Chúa đã khiến xảy ra cho chúng tôi, Người thật là Đấng công minh. | Et vigilavit Dominus in malis, et adduxit ea super nos: quia justus est Dominus in omnibus operibus suis quæ mandavit nobis, | Therefore the Lord has kept watch over the plagues. The Lord has brought them upon us, for the Lord is righteous in all his works which he has commanded us.
And we have not hearkened to his voice to walk in the commandments of the Lord which he hath set before us. | Yet we have not listened to his voice, to walk in the commandments of the Lord that he has set before us.
And now, O Lord God of Israel, who hast brought thy people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and with signs, and with wonders, and with thy great power, and with a mighty arm, and hast made thee a name as at this day, | Giờ đây, lạy Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa Ít-ra-en, Người đã dang cánh tay mạnh mẽ uy quyền, dùng dấu lạ điềm thiêng, dùng sức mạnh lớn lao mà đưa dân Ngài ra khỏi đất Ai-cập, khiến cho danh Ngài rạng rỡ như hiện nay. | Καὶ νῦν, Κύριε ὁ θεὸς Ἰσραήλ, ὃς ἐξήγαγες τὸν λαόν σου ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐν χειρὶ κραταιᾷ, ἐν σημείοις καὶ ἐν τέρασιν καὶ ἐν δυνάμει μεγάλῃ καὶ ἐν βραχίονι ὑψηλῷ, καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ ὄνομα ὡς ἡ ἡμέρα αὕτη, | [Et nunc, Domine Deus Israël, qui eduxisti populum tuum de terra Ægypti in manu valida, et in signis, et in prodigiis, et in virtute tua magna, et in brachio excelso, et fecisti tibi nomen sicut est dies iste: | And now, O Lord, you God of Israel who have brought your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, with signs, with wonders, with great power, and with a high arm, and have gotten yourself a name, as at this day:
We have sinned, we have done wickedly, we have acted unjustly, O Lord our God, against all thy justices. | peccavimus, impie egimus, inique gessimus, Domine Deus noster, in omnibus justitiis tuis. | O Lord our God, we have sinned. We have been ungodly. We have done wrong in all your ordinances.
Let thy wrath be turned away from us: for we are left a few among the nations where thou hast scattered us. | Xin cho cơn lôi đình của Ngài rời xa chúng con, vì giữa chư dân, nơi Ngài phân tán chúng con, chúng con chỉ còn lại rất ít. | Avertatur ira tua a nobis, quia derelicti sumus pauci inter gentes ubi dispersisti nos. | Let your wrath turn from us, for we are but a few left among the heathen where you have scattered us.
Hear, O Lord, our prayers, and our petitions, and deliver us for thy own sake: and grant that we may find favour in the sight of them that have led us away: | Lạy Đức Chúa, xin lắng nghe lời chúng con cầu xin khẩn nguyện: vì danh Ngài, xin giải thoát chúng con và làm cho các kẻ đã đày ải chúng con có thiện cảm với chúng con. | εἰσάκουσον, Κύριε, τῆς προσευχῆς ἡμῶν καὶ τῆς δεήσεως ἡμῶν, καὶ ἐξελοῦ ἡμᾶς ἕνεκεν σοῦ καὶ δὸς ἡμῖν χάριν κατὰ πρόσωπον τῶν ἀποικισάντων ἡμᾶς, | Exaudi, Domine, preces nostras et orationes nostras, et educ nos propter te, et da nobis invenire gratiam ante faciem eorum qui nos abduxerunt: | Hear our prayer, O Lord, and our petition, and deliver us for your own sake. Give us favor in the sight of those who have led us away captive,
That all the earth may know that thou art the Lord our God, and that thy name is called upon Israel, and upon his posterity. | that all the earth may know that you are the Lord our God, because Israel and his posterity is called by your name.
Look down upon us, O Lord, from thy holy house, and incline thy ear, and hear us. | Respice, Domine, de domo sancta tua in nos, et inclina aurem tuam, et exaudi nos. | O Lord, look down from your holy house and consider us. Incline your ear, O Lord, and hear.
Open thy eyes, and behold: for the dead that are in hell, whose spirit is taken away from their bowels, shall not give glory and justice to the Lord: | lạy Đức Chúa, xin đưa mắt nhìn xem: vì những kẻ sẽ ca ngợi vinh quang và sự công chính của Đức Chúa không phải là những kẻ đã chết, đang ở trong âm phủ, những kẻ đã trút hơi thở cuối cùng, | ἄνοιξον ὀφθαλμούς σου καὶ ἴδε ὅτι οὐχ οἱ τεθνηκότες ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ, ὧν ἐλήμφθη τὸ πνεῦμα αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν σπλάγχνων αὐτῶν, δώσουσιν δόξαν καὶ δικαίωμα τῷ κυρίῳ· | Aperi oculos tuos et vide: quia non mortui qui sunt in inferno, quorum spiritus acceptus est a visceribus suis, dabunt honorem et justificationem Domino: | Open your eyes, and see; for the dead that are in Hades, whose breath is taken from their bodies, will give to the Lord neither glory nor righteousness;
But the soul that is sorrowful for the greatness of evil she hath done, and goeth bowed down, and feeble, and the eyes that fail, and the hungry soul giveth glory and justice to thee the Lord. | but the soul who is greatly vexed, who goes stooping and feeble, and the eyes that fail, and the hungry soul, will declare your glory and righteousness, O Lord.
For it is not for the justices of our fathers that we pour out our prayers, and beg mercy in thy sight, O Lord our God: | Vì lạy Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa chúng con, chúng con không dựa vào công đức của cha ông và vua chúa chúng con mà giãi bày cơ sự trước nhan Ngài. | ὅτι οὐκ ἐπὶ τὰ δικαιώματα τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν καὶ τῶν βασιλέων ἡμῶν ἡμεῖς καταβάλλομεν τὸν ἔλεον κατὰ πρόσωπόν σου, Κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν, | Quia non secundum justitias patrum nostrorum nos fundimus preces et petimus misericordiam ante conspectum tuum, Domine Deus noster: | For we do not present our supplication before you, O Lord our God, for the righteousness of our fathers and of our kings.
But because thou hast sent out thy wrath, and thy indignation upon us, as thou hast spoken by the hand of thy servants the prophets, saying: | Ngài đã trút lôi đình thịnh nộ trên chúng con, như Ngài đã dùng các ngôn sứ là các tôi tớ Ngài mà phán: | ὅτι ἐνῆκας τὸν θυμόν σου καὶ τὴν ὀργήν σου εἰς ἡμᾶς, καθάπερ ἐλάλησας ἐν χειρὶ τῶν παίδων σου τῶν προφητῶν | sed quia misisti iram tuam et furorem tuum super nos, sicut locutus es in manu puerorum tuorum prophetarum, dicens: | For you have sent your wrath and your indignation upon us, as you have spoken by your servants the prophets, saying,
Thus saith the Lord: Bow down your shoulder, and your neck, and serve the king of Babylon: and you shall remain in the land which I have given to your fathers. | “The Lord says, ‘Bow your shoulders to serve the king of Babylon, and remain in the land that I gave to your fathers.
But if you will not hearken to the voice of the Lord your God, to serve the king of Babylon: I will cause you to depart out of the cities of Juda, and from without Jerusalem. | Còn nếu các ngươi không nghe tiếng Đức Chúa phán dạy mà làm tôi vua Ba-by-lon, | καὶ ἐὰν μὴ ἀκούσητε τῆς φωνῆς Κυρίου ἐργάσασθαι τῷ βασιλεῖ Βαβυλῶνος, | Quod si non audieritis vocem Domini Dei vestri, operari regi Babyloniæ, defectionem vestram faciam de civitatibus Juda, et a foris Jerusalem, | But if you won’t hear the voice of the Lord to serve the king of Babylon,
And I will take away from you the voice of mirth, and the voice of joy, and the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, and all the land shall be without any footstep of inhabitants. | I will cause to cease out of the cities of Judah and from the region near Jerusalem the voice of mirth, the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. The whole land will be desolate without inhabitant.’”
And they hearkened not to thy voice, to serve the king of Babylon: and thou hast made good thy words, which thou spokest by the hands of thy servants the prophets, that the bones of our kings, and the bones of our fathers should be removed out of their place: | Nhưng chúng con đã không nghe theo tiếng Ngài phán bảo phải làm tôi vua Ba-by-lon, cho nên Ngài đã cứ những lời Ngài đã dùng các ngôn sứ tôi tớ Ngài mà phán, là xương cốt của các vua, cũng như xương cốt của cha ông chúng con sẽ bị lôi ra khỏi mồ. | Et non audierunt vocem tuam, ut operarentur regi Babylonis: et statuisti verba tua, quæ locutus es in manibus puerorum tuorum prophetarum, ut transferrentur ossa regum nostrorum et ossa patrum nostrorum de loco suo: | But we wouldn’t listen to your voice, to serve the king of Babylon. Therefore you have made good your words that you spoke by your servants the prophets, that the bones of our kings and the bones of our fathers would be taken out of their places.
And behold they are cast out to the heat of the sun, and to the frost of the night: and they have died in grievous pains, by famine, and by the sword, and in banishment. | Behold, they are cast out to the heat by day and to the frost by night. They died in great miseries by famine, by sword, and by pestilence.
And thou hast made the temple, in which thy name was called upon, as it is at this day, for the iniquity of the house of Israel, and the house of Juda. | Et posuisti templum in quo invocatum est nomen tuum in ipso sicut hæc dies, propter iniquitatem domus Israël et domus Juda. | You have made the house that is called by your name as it is today because of the wickedness of the house of Israel and the house of Judah.
And thou hast dealt with us, O Lord our God, according to all thy goodness, and according to all that great mercy of thine: | Dầu vậy, lạy Đức Chúa là Thiên Chúa chúng con, Ngài đã lấy hết lượng khoan dung và lòng từ bi cao cả của Ngài mà xử với chúng con, | Καὶ ἐποίησας εἰς ἡμᾶς, Κύριε ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν, κατὰ πᾶσαν ἐπιεικίαν σου καὶ κατὰ πάντα οἰκτειρμόν σου τὸν μέγαν, | Et fecisti in nobis, Domine Deus noster, secundum omnem bonitatem tuam et secundum omnem miserationem tuam illam magnam: | Yet, O Lord our God, you have dealt with us after all your kindness and according to all your great mercy,
As thou spokest by the hand of thy servant Moses, in the day when thou didst command him to write thy law before the children of Israel, | như Ngài đã dùng tôi tớ Ngài là ông Mô-sê mà phán, khi truyền cho ông chép Lề Luật của Ngài trước mặt con cái Ít-ra-en, nội dung như sau: | καθὰ ἐλάλησας ἐν χειρὶ παιδός σου Μωυσῆ, ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἐντειλαμένου σου αὐτῷ γράψαι τὸν νόμον σου ἐναντίον υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ λέγων | sicut locutus es in manu pueri tui Moysi, in die qua præcepisti ei scribere legem tuam coram filiis Israël, | as you spoke by your servant Moses in the day when you commanded him to write your law in the presence of the children of Israel, saying,
Saying: If you will not hear my voice, this great multitude shall be turned into a very small number among the nations, where I will scatter them: | “Nếu các ngươi không nghe Ta, thì giữa chư dân, nơi Ta sẽ phân tán chúng, đám dân vĩ đại và đông đảo này chắc chắn sẽ trở thành nhỏ bé. | dicens: Si non audieritis vocem meam, multitudo hæc magna convertetur in minimam inter gentes, quo ego eos dispergam: | “If you won’t hear my voice, surely this very great multitude will be turned into a small number among the nations where I will scatter them.
For I know that the people will not hear me, for they are a people of a stiff neck: but they shall turn to their heart in the land of their captivity: | Ta vẫn biết rằng chúng sẽ chẳng nghe Ta đâu, vì đó là một dân cứng cổ. Nhưng trên đất lưu đày, chúng sẽ hồi tâm, | ὅτι ἔγνων ὅτι οὐ μὴ ἀκούσωσίν μου, ὅτι λαὸς σκληροτράχηλός ἐστιν· καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσιν ἐπὶ καρδίαν αὐτῶν ἐν γῇ ἀποικισμοῦ αὐτῶν, | quia scio quod me non audiet populus: populus est enim dura cervice. Et convertetur ad cor suum in terra captivitatis suæ, | For I know that they will not hear me, because they are a stiff-necked people; but in the land of their captivity they will take it to heart,
And they shall know that I am the Lord their God: and I will give them a heart, and they shall understand: and ears, and they shall hear. καὶ δώσω αὐτοῖς καρδίαν καὶ ὦτα ἀκούοντα, | et scient quia ego sum Dominus Deus eorum: et dabo eis cor, et intelligent; aures, et audient: | and will know that I am the Lord their God. I will give them a heart and ears to hear.
And they shall praise me in the land of their captivity, and shall be mindful of my name. | καὶ αἰνέσουσίν με ἐν γῇ ἀποικισμοῦ αὐτῶν, καὶ μνησθήσονται τοῦ ὀνόματός μου· | et laudabunt me in terra captivitatis suæ, et memores erunt nominis mei, | Then they will praise me in the land of their captivity, and think about my name,
And they shall turn away themselves from their stiff neck, and from their wicked deeds: for they shall remember the way of their fathers, that sinned against me. | et avertent se a dorso suo duro, et a malignitatibus suis: quia reminiscentur viam patrum suorum, qui peccaverunt in me. | and will return from their stiff neck and from their wicked deeds; for they will remember the way of their fathers who sinned before the Lord.
And I will bring them back again into the land which I promised with an oath to their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they shall be masters thereof: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be diminished. | καὶ ἀποστρέψω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν, τῷ Ἀβραὰμ καὶ τῷ Ἰσαὰκ καὶ τῷ Ἰακώβ, καὶ κυριεύσουσιν αὐτῆς· καὶ πληθυνῶ αὐτούς, καὶ οὐ μὴ σμικρυνθῶσιν· | Et revocabo illos in terram quam juravi patribus eorum, Abraham, Isaac, et Jacob: et dominabuntur ejus, et multiplicabo eos, et non minorabuntur: | I will bring them again into the land which I promised to their fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and they will rule over it. I will increase them, and they won’t be diminished.
And I will make with them another covenant that shall be everlasting, to be their God, and they shall be my people: and I will no more remove my people, the children of Israel, out of the land that I have given them. | And I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God, and they will be my people. I will no more remove my people Israel out of the land that I have given them.”
