| 14 | And thrust it into the kettle, or into the caldron, or into the pot, or into the pan: and all that the fleshhook brought up, the priest took to himself. Thus did they to all Israel that came to Silo. | Nó thọc vào vạc, vào nồi, vào chảo hay vào niêu; hễ xiên đưa lên được miếng nào, thì tư tế lấy cho mình. The priest took all that the fork brought up for himself. They did this to all the Israelites who came there to Shiloh. |

| 16 | And he that sacrificed said to him: Let the fat first be burnt today according to the custom, and then take as much as thy soul desireth. Qui respondens aiebat ei: Nequaquam: nunc enim dabis, alioquin tollam vi. | If the man said to him, “Let the fat be burned first, and then take as much as your soul desires;” then he would say, “No, but you shall give it to me now; and if not, I will take it by force.” |

| 20 | And Heli blessed Elcana and his wife: and he said to him: The Lord give thee seed of this woman, for the loan thou hast lent to the Lord. | 21 | And the Lord visited Anna, and she conceived, and bore three sons and two daughters: and the child Samuel became great before the Lord. | ĐỨC CHÚA viếng thăm bà An-na; bà thụ thai và sinh được ba trai hai gái, còn cậu bé Sa-mu-en thì lớn lên bên cạnh ĐỨC CHÚA. | καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο Κύριος τὴν Ἅνναν, καὶ ἔτεκεν ἔτι τρεῖς υἱοὺς καὶ δύο θυγατέρας· καὶ ἐμεγαλύνθη τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουὴλ ἐνώπιον Κυρίου. | כִּֽי פָקַ֤ד יְהוָה֙ אֶת חַנָּ֔ה וַתַּ֛הַר וַתֵּ֥לֶד שְׁלֹשָֽׁה בָנִ֖ים וּשְׁתֵּ֣י בָנ֑וֹת וַיִּגְדַּ֛ל הַנַּ֥עַר שְׁמוּאֵ֖ל עִם יְהוָֽה | Visitavit ergo Dominus Annam, et concepit, et peperit tres filios, et duas filias: et magnificatus est puer Samuel apud Dominum. | The LORD visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before the LORD. |
| 22 | Now Heli was very old, and he heard all that his sons did to all Israel: and how they lay with the women that waited at the door of the tabernacle: | Ông Ê-li đã già lắm. | 23 | And he said to them: Why do ye these kinds of things, which I hear, very wicked things, from all the people? | Ông nói với chúng: “Sao các con lại làm những điều ấy, những điều xấu mà cha nghe toàn dân nói? | καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ἵνα τί ποιεῖτε κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο ὅ ἐγὼ ἀκούω ἐκ στόματος παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ Κυρίου; | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר לָהֶ֔ם לָ֥מָּה תַעֲשׂ֖וּן כַּדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֑לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָנֹכִ֤י שֹׁמֵ֨עַ֙ אֶת דִּבְרֵיכֶ֣ם רָעִ֔ים מֵאֵ֖ת כָּל הָעָ֥ם אֵֽלֶּה | et dixit eis: Quare facitis res hujuscemodi quas ego audio, res pessimas, ab omni populo? | He said to them, “Why do you do such things? For I hear of your evil dealings from all these people. |
| 24 | Do not so, my sons: for it is no good report that I hear, that you make the people of the Lord to transgress. | Không, các con ơi, tiếng kháo láo cha nghe dân ĐỨC CHÚA đồn thổi thì không tốt đẹp gì. | μή, τέκνα, ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθὴ ἡ ἀκοὴ ἣν ἐγὼ ἀκούω· μὴ ποιεῖτε οὕτως, ὅτι οὐκ ἀγαθαὶ αἱ ἀκοαὶ ἃς ἐγὼ ἀκοὺω, τοῦ μὴ δουλεύειν λαὸν θεῷ. | אַ֖ל בָּנָ֑י כִּ֠י לֽוֹא טוֹבָ֤ה הַשְּׁמֻעָה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אָנֹכִ֣י שֹׁמֵ֔עַ מַעֲבִרִ֖ים עַם יְהוָֽה | Nolite, filii mei: non enim est bona fama quam ego audio, ut transgredi faciatis populum Domini. | No, my sons; for it is not a good report that I hear! You make the LORD’s people disobey. |
| 25 | If one man shall sin against another, God may be appeased in his behalf: but if a man shall sin against the Lord, who shall pray for him? Et non audierunt vocem patris sui: quia voluit Dominus occidere eos. | If one man sins against another, God will judge him; but if a man sins against the LORD, who will intercede for him?” Notwithstanding, they didn’t listen to the voice of their father, because the LORD intended to kill them. |
| 26 | But the child Samuel advanced, and grew on, and pleased both the Lord and men. | Còn cậu bé Sa-mu-en thì càng lớn lên và đẹp lòng cả ĐỨC CHÚA lẫn người ta. | καὶ τὸ παιδάριον Σαμουὴλ ἐπορεύετο, καὶ ἀγαθὸν καὶ μετὰ Κυρίου καὶ μετὰ ἀνθρώπων. | וְהַנַּ֣עַר שְׁמוּאֵ֔ל הֹלֵ֥ךְ וְגָדֵ֖ל וָט֑וֹב גַּ֚ם עִם יְהוָ֔ה וְגַ֖ם עִם אֲנָשִֽׁים | Puer autem Samuel proficiebat atque crescebat, et placebat tam Domino quam hominibus. | The child Samuel grew on, and increased in favor both with the LORD and also with men. |

| 28 | And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my sitar, and burn incense to me, and to wear the ephod before me: and I gave to thy father’s house of all the sacrifices of the children of Israel. | Ta đã chọn chúng trong mọi chi tộc Ít-ra-en, để chúng làm tư tế cho Ta, bước lên bàn thờ của Ta, đốt hương cho cháy nghi ngút, mang ê-phốt trước nhan Ta, và Ta đã ban cho nhà cha ngươi mọi hoả tế của con cái Ít-ra-en. | καὶ ἐξελεξάμην τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός σου ἐκ πάντων τῶν σκήπτρων Ἰσραὴλ ἐμοὶ ἱερατεύειν, καὶ ἀναβαίνειν ἐπὶ θυσιαστήριόν μου καὶ θυμιᾷν θυμίαμα καὶ αἴρειν ἐφούδ· καὶ ἔδωκα τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ πατρός σου τὰ πάντα τοῦ πυρὸς υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς βρῶσιν. | וּבָחֹ֣ר אֹ֠תוֹ מִכָּל שִׁבְטֵ֨י יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל לִי֙ לְכֹהֵ֔ן לַעֲל֣וֹת עַֽל מִזְבְּחִ֗י לְהַקְטִ֥יר קְטֹ֛רֶת לָשֵׂ֥את אֵפ֖וֹד לְפָנָ֑י וָֽאֶתְּנָה֙ לְבֵ֣ית אָבִ֔יךָ אֶת כָּל אִשֵּׁ֖י בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל | Et elegi eum ex omnibus tribubus Israël mihi in sacerdotem, ut ascenderet ad altare meum, et adoleret mihi incensum, et portaret ephod coram me: et dedi domui patris tui omnia de sacrificiis filiorum Israël. | Didn’t I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? Didn’t I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire? |
| 29 | Why have you kicked away my victims, and my gifts which I commanded to be offered in the temple: and thou hast rather honoured thy sons than me, to eat the firstfruits of every sacrifice of my people Israel? | Tại sao ngươi lại coi thường hy lễ và lễ phẩm dành cho Ta, là những thứ Ta đã truyền dâng trong nơi Ta ngự? Tại sao ngươi lại coi trọng các con ngươi hơn Ta, mà cả cha con béo mập ra, vì ăn những thứ ngon nhất trong mọi lễ phẩm của Ít-ra-en, dân Ta? | καὶ ἵνα τί ἐπέβλεψας ἐπὶ τὸ θυμίαμά μου καὶ εἰς τὴν θυσίαν μου ἀναιδεῖ ὀφθαλμῷ; καὶ ἐδόξασας τοὺς υἱούς σου ὑπὲρ ἐμὲ ἐνευλογεῖσθαι ἀπαρχῆς πάσης θυσίας Ἰσραὴλ ἔμπροσθέν μου; | לָ֣מָּה תִבְעֲט֗וּ בְּזִבְחִי֙ וּבְמִנְחָתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי מָע֑וֹן וַתְּכַבֵּ֤ד אֶת בָּנֶ֨יךָ֙ מִמֶּ֔נִּי לְהַבְרִֽיאֲכֶ֗ם מֵרֵאשִׁ֛ית כָּל מִנְחַ֥ת יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לְעַמִּֽי | Quare calce abjecistis victimam meam, et munera mea quæ præcepi ut offerrentur in templo: et magis honorasti filios tuos quam me, ut comederetis primitias omnis sacrificii Israël populi mei? | Why do you kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel my people?’ |
| 30 | Wherefore thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father should minister in my sight, for ever. But now saith the Lord: Far be this from me: but whosoever shall glorify me, him will I glorify: but they that despise me, shall be despised. | “Vì vậy –sấm ngôn của ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của Ít-ra-en– quả Ta có nói là nhà của ngươi và nhà cha ngươi sẽ đi trước nhan Ta mãi mãi, nhưng giờ đây –sấm ngôn của ĐỨC CHÚA – không đời nào! Vì những kẻ coi trọng Ta thì Ta coi trọng, còn những kẻ khinh dể Ta thì bị khinh thường. | διὰ τοῦτο τάδε εἶπεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς Ἰσραήλ Εἶπα Ὁ οἶκός σου καὶ ὁ οἶκος τοῦ πατρός σου διελεύσεται ἐνώπιόν μου ἕως αἰῶνος. καὶ νῦν φησὶν Κὺριος Μηδαμῶς ἐμοί, ὅτι ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τοὺς δοξάζοντάς με δοξάσω, καὶ ὁ ἐξουθενῶν με ἀτιμωθήσεται. | לָכֵ֗ן נְאֻם יְהוָה֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ אָמ֣וֹר אָמַ֔רְתִּי בֵּֽיתְךָ֙ וּבֵ֣ית אָבִ֔יךָ יִתְהַלְּכ֥וּ לְפָנַ֖י עַד עוֹלָ֑ם וְעַתָּ֤ה נְאֻם יְהוָה֙ חָלִ֣ילָה לִּ֔י כִּֽי מְכַבְּדַ֥י אֲכַבֵּ֖ד וּבֹזַ֥י יֵקָֽלּוּ | Propterea ait Dominus Deus Israël: Loquens locutus sum, ut domus tua, et domus patris tui, ministraret in conspectu meo usque in sempiternum. Nunc autem dicit Dominus: Absit hoc a me: sed quicumque glorificaverit me, glorificabo eum: qui autem contemnunt me, erunt ignobiles. | “Therefore the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father should walk before me forever.’ But now the LORD says, ‘Far be it from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me will be cursed. |
| 31 | Behold the days come: and I will cut off thy arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thy house. | Này sắp đến những ngày Ta sẽ chặt cánh tay ngươi và cánh tay của nhà cha ngươi, khiến cho không còn người già trong nhà của ngươi. | ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὸ σπέρμα σου καὶ τὸ σπέρμα οἴκου πατρός σου, | הִנֵּה֙ יָמִ֣ים בָּאִ֔ים וְגָֽדַעְתִּי֙ אֶת זְרֹ֣עֲךָ֔ וְאֶת זְרֹ֖עַ בֵּ֣ית אָבִ֑יךָ מִֽהְי֥וֹת זָקֵ֖ן בְּבֵיתֶֽךָ | Ecce dies veniunt, et præcidam brachium tuum, et brachium domus patris tui, ut non sit senex in domo tua. | Behold, the days come that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father’s house, that there will not be an old man in your house. |
| 32 | And thou shalt see thy rival in the temple, in all the prosperity of Israel, and there shall not be an old man in thy house for ever. | Ngươi sẽ trông thấy một đối thủ nơi Ta ngự, trong khi tại Ít-ra-en mọi sự đều tốt đẹp, và trong nhà ngươi sẽ không bao giờ có người già nữa. | καὶ οὐκ ἔσται σου πρεσβύτης ἐν οἴκῳ μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας. | וְהִבַּטְתָּ֙ צַ֣ר מָע֔וֹן בְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר יֵיטִ֖יב אֶת יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹֽא יִהְיֶ֥ה זָקֵ֛ן בְּבֵיתְךָ֖ כָּל הַיָּמִֽים | Et videbis æmulum tuum in templo, in universis prosperis Israël: et non erit senex in domo tua omnibus diebus. | You will see the affliction of my habitation, in all the wealth which I will give Israel. There shall not be an old man in your house forever. |
| 33 | However I will not altogether take away a man of thee from my altar: but that thy eyes may faint and thy soul be spent: and a great part of thy house shall die when they come to man’s estate. | Tuy nhiên, Ta sẽ không loại mọi người của ngươi khỏi bàn thờ Ta, như vậy mắt ngươi sẽ mỏi mòn, tâm hồn ngươi sẽ kiệt sức, và tất cả con cháu trong nhà ngươi sẽ phải chết giữa tuổi thành nhân. | καὶ ἄνδρα οὐκ ἐξολεθρεύσω ἀπὸ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου μου, ἐκλιπεῖν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ καταρρεῖν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ· καὶ πᾶς περισσεύων οἴκου σου πεσοῦνται ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ ἀνδρῶν. | וְאִ֗ישׁ לֹֽא אַכְרִ֤ית לְךָ֙ מֵעִ֣ם מִזְבְּחִ֔י לְכַלּ֥וֹת אֶת עֵינֶ֖יךָ וְלַאֲדִ֣יב אֶת נַפְשֶׁ֑ךָ וְכָל מַרְבִּ֥ית בֵּיתְךָ֖ יָמ֥וּתוּ אֲנָשִֽׁים | Verumtamen non auferam penitus virum ex te ab altari meo: sed ut deficiant oculi tui, et tabescat anima tua: et pars magna domus tuæ morietur cum ad virilem ætatem venerit. | The man of yours whom I don’t cut off from my altar will consume your eyes and grieve your heart. All the increase of your house will die in the flower of their age. |
| 34 | And this shall be a sign to thee, that shall come upon thy two sons, Ophni and Phinees: In one day they shall both of them die. | “Điều xảy ra cho hai con trai ngươi, Khóp-ni và Pin-khát, sẽ là dấu cho ngươi: cả hai sẽ chết trong cùng một ngày. | καὶ τοῦτό σοι τὸ σημεῖον ὃ ἣξει ἐπὶ τοὺς δύο υἱούς σου τούτους, Ὁφνεὶ καὶ Φεινεές, ἐν ἡμέρᾳ μιᾷ ἀποθανοῦνται ἀμφότεροι. | וְזֶה לְּךָ֣ הָא֗וֹת אֲשֶׁ֤ר יָבֹא֙ אֶל שְׁנֵ֣י בָנֶ֔יךָ אֶל חָפְנִ֖י וּפִֽינְחָ֑ס בְּי֥וֹם אֶחָ֖ד יָמ֥וּתוּ שְׁנֵיהֶֽם | Hoc autem erit tibi signum, quod venturum est duobus filiis tuis, Ophni et Phinees: in die uno morientur ambo. | This will be the sign to you that will come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they will both die. |

I will build him a sure house. He will walk before my anointed forever. |
| 36 | And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall remain in thy house, shall come that he may be prayed for, and shall offer a piece of silver, and a roll of bread, and shall say: Put me, I beseech thee, to somewhat of the priestly office, that I may eat a morsel of bread. | Bất cứ ai còn sót lại trong nhà ngươi sẽ đến sụp lạy nó để được một đồng bạc và một ổ bánh, và sẽ nói với nó: ‘Xin vui lòng nhận tôi vào làm một chức vụ tư tế nào đó, để tôi có miếng bánh ăn.’” | καὶ ἔσται ὁ περισσεύων ἐν οἴκῳ ἥξει προσκυνεῖν αὐτῷ ὀβολοῦ ἀργυρίου λέγων Παράριψόν με ἐπὶ μίαν τῶν ἱερατειῶν σου φαγεῖν ἄρτον. | וְהָיָ֗ה כָּל הַנּוֹתָר֙ בְּבֵ֣יתְךָ֔ יָבוֹא֙ לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֺ֣ת ל֔וֹ לַאֲג֥וֹרַת כֶּ֖סֶף וְכִכַּר לָ֑חֶם וְאָמַ֗ר סְפָחֵ֥נִי נָ֛א אֶל אַחַ֥ת הַכְּהֻנּ֖וֹת לֶאֱכֹ֥ל פַּת לָֽחֶם | Futurum est autem, ut quicumque remanserit in domo tua, veniat ut oretur pro eo, et offerat nummum argenteum, et tortam panis, dicatque: Dimitte me, obsecro, ad unam partem sacerdotalem, ut comedam buccellam panis. | It will happen that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread, and will say, “Please put me into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread.”’” |
