| 2 | This is the observance of the victim, which the Lord hath ordained. Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee a red cow of full age, in which there is no blemish, and which hath not carried the yoke: | “Đây là quy tắc trong luật mà ĐỨC CHÚA đã truyền: Ngươi hãy bảo con cái Ít-ra-en đưa tới cho ngươi một con bò cái màu hung đỏ, nguyên tuyền, toàn vẹn và chưa bao giờ mang ách. | Αὕτη ἡ διαστολὴ τοῦ νόμου, ὅσα συνέταξεν Κύριος λέγων Λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ λαβέτωσαν πρὸς σὲ δάμαλιν πυρρὰν ἄμωμον, ἥτις οὐκ ἔχει ἐν αὐτῇ μῶμον καὶ ᾗ οὐκ ἐπεβλήθη ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ζυγός. | זֹ֚את חֻקַּ֣ת הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר דַּבֵּ֣ר אֶל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְיִקְח֣וּ אֵלֶיךָ֩ פָרָ֨ה אֲדֻמָּ֜ה תְּמִימָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר אֵֽין בָּהּ֙ מ֔וּם אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹא עָלָ֥ה עָלֶ֖יהָ עֹֽל | Ista est religio victimæ, quam constituit Dominus. Præcipe filiis Israël, ut adducant ad te vaccam rufam ætatis integræ, in qua nulla sit macula, nec portaverit jugum: | “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded. Tell the children of Israel to bring you a red heifer without spot, in which is no defect, and which was never yoked. |
| 3 | And you shall deliver her to Eleazar the priest, who shall bring her forth without the camp, and shall immolate her in the sight of all: | Các ngươi sẽ trao nó cho tư tế E-la-da. | 4 | And dipping his finger in her blood, shall sprinkle it over against the door of the tabernacle seven times, | Tư tế E-la-da sẽ lấy ngón tay nhúng vào máu nó mà rảy bảy lần về phía mặt tiền Lều Hội Ngộ. | καὶ λήμψεται Ἐλεαζὰρ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς, καὶ ῥανεῖ ἀπέναντι τοῦ προσώπου τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου ἀπὸ τοῦ αἵματος αὐτῆς ἑπτάκις. | וְלָקַ֞ח אֶלְעָזָ֧ר הַכֹּהֵ֛ן מִדָּמָ֖הּ בְּאֶצְבָּע֑וֹ וְהִזָּ֞ה אֶל נֹ֨כַח פְּנֵ֧י אֹֽהֶל מוֹעֵ֛ד מִדָּמָ֖הּ שֶׁ֥בַע פְּעָמִֽים | et tingens digitum in sanguine ejus, asperget contra fores tabernaculi septem vicibus, | Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times. |
| 5 | And shall burn her in the sight of all, delivering up to the fire her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, and her dung. | Người ta sẽ thiêu con bò trước mắt ông; da, thịt, máu và phân nó đều đốt hết. | καὶ κατακαύσουσιν αὐτὴν ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ· καὶ τὸ δέρμα καὶ τὰ κρέα αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ αἷμα αὐτῆς σὺν τῇ κόπρῳ αὐτῆς κατακαυθήσεται. | וְשָׂרַ֥ף אֶת הַפָּרָ֖ה לְעֵינָ֑יו אֶת עֹרָ֤הּ וְאֶת בְּשָׂרָהּ֙ וְאֶת דָּמָ֔הּ עַל פִּרְשָׁ֖הּ יִשְׂרֹֽף | comburetque eam cunctis videntibus, tam pelle et carnibus ejus quam sanguine et fimo flammæ traditis. | One shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her meat, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn. |
| 6 | The priest shall also take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet twice dyed, and cast it into the flame, with which the cow is consumed. | Và tư tế sẽ lấy gỗ bá hương, hương thảo và chỉ màu đỏ thẫm mà quăng vào giữa con bò đang cháy. | καὶ λήμψεται ὁ ἱερεὺς ξύλον κέδρινον καὶ ὕσσωπον καὶ κόκκινον, καὶ ἐμβαλοῦσιν εἰς μέσον τοῦ κατακαύματος τῆς δαμάλεως. | וְלָקַ֣ח הַכֹּהֵ֗ן עֵ֥ץ אֶ֛רֶז וְאֵז֖וֹב וּשְׁנִ֣י תוֹלָ֑עַת וְהִשְׁלִ֕יךְ אֶל תּ֖וֹךְ שְׂרֵפַ֥ת הַפָּרָֽה | Lignum quoque cedrinum, et hyssopum, coccumque bis tinctum sacerdos mittet in flammam, quæ vaccam vorat. | The priest shall take cedar wood, hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the middle of the burning of the heifer. |
| 7 | And then after washing his garments, and body, he shall enter into the camp, and shall be unclean until the evening. | Sau đó tư tế phải giặt áo, và lấy nước rửa mình cho sạch, rồi trở về trại, tư tế sẽ bị nhiễm uế cho tới chiều. | καὶ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ λούσεται τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ ὕδατι, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν· καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ὁ ἱερεὺς ἕως ἑσπέρας. | וְכִבֶּ֨ס בְּגָדָ֜יו הַכֹּהֵ֗ן וְרָחַ֤ץ בְּשָׂרוֹ֙ בַּמַּ֔יִם וְאַחַ֖ר יָב֣וֹא אֶל הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה וְטָמֵ֥א הַכֹּהֵ֖ן עַד הָעָֽרֶב | Et tunc demum, lotis vestibus et corpore suo, ingredietur in castra, commaculatusque erit usque ad vesperum. | Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the evening. |
| 8 | He also that hath burned her, shall wash his garments, and his body, and shall be unclean until the evening. | Người thiêu con bò ấy cũng phải lấy nước giặt áo và rửa mình cho sạch, và cũng bị nhiễm uế cho tới chiều. | καὶ ὁ κατακαίων αὐτὴν πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ καὶ λούσεται τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας. | וְהַשֹּׂרֵ֣ף אֹתָ֔הּ יְכַבֵּ֤ס בְּגָדָיו֙ בַּמַּ֔יִם וְרָחַ֥ץ בְּשָׂר֖וֹ בַּמָּ֑יִם וְטָמֵ֖א עַד הָעָֽרֶב | Sed et ille qui combusserit eam, lavabit vestimenta sua et corpus, et immundus erit usque ad vesperum. | He who burns her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the evening. |
| 9 | And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the cow, and shall pour them forth without the camp in a most clean place, that they may be reserved for the multitude of the children of Israel, and for a water of aspersion: because the cow was burnt for sin. | Một người nào thanh sạch sẽ hốt tro con bò ấy, để ở một nơi thanh sạch, bên ngoài trại. Đối với cộng đồng con cái Ít-ra-en, thì tro đó được dự trữ dùng làm nước tẩy uế. Đó là nghi thức tạ tội. | καὶ συνάξει ἄνθρωπος καθαρὸς τὴν σποδὸν τῆς δαμάλεως καὶ ἀποθήσει ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς εἰς τόπον καθαρόν. καὶ ἔσται τῇ συναγωγῇ υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς διατήρησιν· ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ, ἅγνισμά ἐστιν. | וְאָסַ֣ף אִ֣ישׁ טָה֗וֹר אֵ֚ת אֵ֣פֶר הַפָּרָ֔ה וְהִנִּ֛יחַ מִח֥וּץ לַֽמַּחֲנֶ֖ה בְּמָק֣וֹם טָה֑וֹר וְ֠הָיְתָה לַעֲדַ֨ת בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל לְמִשְׁמֶ֛רֶת לְמֵ֥י נִדָּ֖ה חַטָּ֥את הִֽוא | Colliget autem vir mundus cineres vaccæ, et effundet eos extra castra in loco purissimo, ut sint multitudini filiorum Israël in custodiam, et in aquam aspersionis: quia pro peccato vacca combusta est. | “A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering. |
| 10 | And when he that carried the ashes of the cow, hath washed his garments, he shall be unclean until the evening. The children of Israel, and the strangers that dwell among them, shall observe this for a holy thing by a perpetual ordinance. | Người đã hốt tro con bò cũng phải giặt áo, và cũng bị nhiễm uế cho tới chiều. Đối với con cái Ít-ra-en cũng như với ngoại kiều trú ngụ giữa chúng, thì đó là một quy tắc vĩnh viễn. | καὶ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια ὁ συνάγων τὴν σποδιὰν τῆς δαμάλεως, καὶ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας· καὶ ἔσται τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ καὶ τοῖς προσκειμένοις προσηλύτοις νόμιμον αἰώνιον. | וְ֠כִבֶּס הָאֹסֵ֨ף אֶת אֵ֤פֶר הַפָּרָה֙ אֶת בְּגָדָ֔יו וְטָמֵ֖א עַד הָעָ֑רֶב וְֽהָיְתָ֞ה לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וְלַגֵּ֛ר הַגָּ֥ר בְּתוֹכָ֖ם לְחֻקַּ֥ת עוֹלָֽם | Cumque laverit qui vaccæ portaverat cineres vestimenta sua, immundus erit usque ad vesperum. Habebunt hoc filii Israël, et advenæ qui habitant inter eos, sanctum jure perpetuo. | He who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening. It shall be to the children of Israel, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among them, for a statute forever. |
| 11 | He that toucheth the corpse of a man, and is therefore unclean seven days, | Ai đụng vào người chết, bất cứ người chết này là ai, đều bị nhiễm uế trong bảy ngày liền. | Ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τεθνηκότος πάσης ψυχῆς ἀνθρώπου ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας· | הַנֹּגֵ֥עַ בְּמֵ֖ת לְכָל נֶ֣פֶשׁ אָדָ֑ם וְטָמֵ֖א שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים | Qui tetigerit cadaver hominis, et propter hoc septem diebus fuerit immundus, | “He who touches the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days. |
| 12 | Shall be sprinkled with this water on the third day, and on the seventh, and so shall be cleansed. If he were not sprinkled on the third day, he cannot be cleansed on the seventh. | Ngày thứ ba và thứ bảy, người đó sẽ lấy nước nói trên mà thanh tẩy mình và sẽ được sạch; nếu người đó không thanh tẩy mình ngày thứ ba và thứ bảy, thì sẽ không được sạch. | οὗτος ἁγνισθήσεται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ, καὶ καθαρὸς ἔσται· ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀφαγνισθῇ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ τρίτῃ καὶ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ ἑβδόμῃ, οὐ καθαρὸς ἔσται. | ה֣וּא יִתְחַטָּא ב֞וֹ בַּיּ֧וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֛י וּבַיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י יִטְהָ֑ר וְאִם לֹ֨א יִתְחַטָּ֜א בַּיּ֧וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֛י וּבַיּ֥וֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י לֹ֥א יִטְהָֽר | aspergetur ex hac aqua die tertio et septimo, et sic mundabitur. Si die tertio aspersus non fuerit, septimo non poterit emundari. | He shall purify himself with water on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean; but if he doesn’t purify himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean. |
| 13 | Every one that toucheth the corpse of a man, and is not sprinkled with mixture, shall profane the tabernacle of the Lord, and shall perish out of Israel: because he was not sprinkled with the water of expiation, he shall be unclean, and his uncleanness shall remain upon him. | Ai đụng vào người chết –thi thể của một người đã chết– mà không thanh tẩy mình, người đó làm cho Nhà Tạm của ĐỨC CHÚA bị nhiễm uế, người như thế phải bị diệt trừ khỏi Ít-ra-en, vì nó đã không được dội nước tẩy uế. Nó đã bị nhiễm uế, và ô uế vẫn tồn tại nơi nó. | πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ τεθνηκότος ἀπὸ ψυχῆς ἀνθρώπου, ἐὰν ἀποθάνῃ καὶ μὴ ἀφαγνισθῇ, τὴν σκηνὴν Κυρίου ἐμίανεν· ἐκτριβήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐξ Ἰσραήλ, ὅτι ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ οὐ περιεραντίσθη ἐπ᾽ αὐτόν· ἀκάθαρτός ἐστιν, ἔτι ἡ ἀκαθαρσία αὐτοῦ ἐν αὐτῷ ἐστιν. | כָּֽל הַנֹּגֵ֡עַ בְּמֵ֣ת בְּנֶפֶשׁ֩ הָאָדָ֨ם אֲשֶׁר יָמ֜וּת וְלֹ֣א יִתְחַטָּ֗א אֶת מִשְׁכַּ֤ן יְהוָה֙ טִמֵּ֔א וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ הַהִ֖וא מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּי֩ מֵ֨י נִדָּ֜ה לֹא זֹרַ֤ק עָלָיו֙ טָמֵ֣א יִהְיֶ֔ה ע֖וֹד טֻמְאָת֥וֹ בֽוֹ | Omnis qui tetigerit humanæ animæ morticinum, et aspersus hac commistione non fuerit, polluet tabernaculum Domini et peribit ex Israël: quia aqua expiationis non est aspersus, immundus erit, et manebit spurcitia ejus super eum. | Whoever touches a dead person, the body of a man who has died, and doesn’t purify himself, defiles the LORD’s tabernacle; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel; because the water for impurity was not sprinkled on him, he shall be unclean. His uncleanness is yet on him. |
| 14 | This is the law of a mall that dieth in a tent: All that go into his tent and all the vessels that are there, shall be unclean seven days. | Đây là luật phải giữ khi có người chết trong lều: ai vào lều cũng như mọi người đang ở trong lều, đều bị nhiễm uế trong bảy ngày liền. | καὶ οὗτος ὁ νόμος· ἄνθρωπος ἐὰν ἀποθάνῃ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, πᾶς ὁ εἰσπορευόμενος εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ὅσα ἐστὶν ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἀκάθαρτα ἔσται ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας· | זֹ֚את הַתּוֹרָ֔ה אָדָ֖ם כִּֽי יָמ֣וּת בְּאֹ֑הֶל כָּל הַבָּ֤א אֶל הָאֹ֨הֶל֙ וְכָל אֲשֶׁ֣ר בָּאֹ֔הֶל יִטְמָ֖א שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים | Ista est lex hominis qui moritur in tabernaculo: omnes qui ingrediuntur tentorium illius, et universa vasa quæ ibi sunt, polluta erunt septem diebus. | “This is the law when a man dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. |
| 15 | The vessel that hath no cover, nor binding over it, shall be unclean. | Mọi bình lọ để mở, không được cột kín, đều bị nhiễm uế. | καὶ πᾶν σκεῦος ἀνεῳγμένον, ὅσα οὐχὶ δεσμὸν καταδέδεται ἐν αὐτῷ, ἀκάθαρτά ἐστιν. | וְכֹל֙ כְּלִ֣י פָת֔וּחַ אֲשֶׁ֛ר אֵין צָמִ֥יד פָּתִ֖יל עָלָ֑יו טָמֵ֖א הֽוּא | Vas, quod non habuerit operculum nec ligaturam desuper, immundum erit. | Every open vessel, which has no covering bound on it, is unclean. |
| 16 | If any man in the field touch the corpse of a man that was slain, or that died of himself, or his bone, or his grave, he shall be unclean seven days. | Bất cứ ai ở ngoài đồng đụng vào một người bị gươm đâm, một tử thi, hoặc xương người hay là mồ mả, đều bị nhiễm uế trong bảy ngày liền. | καὶ πᾶς ὃς ἐὰν ἅψηται ἐπὶ προσώπου τοῦ πεδίου τραυματίου ἢ νεκροῦ ἢ ὀστέου ἀνθρωπίνου ἢ μνήματος, ἑπτὰ ἡμέρας ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται. | וְכֹ֨ל אֲשֶׁר יִגַּ֜ע עַל פְּנֵ֣י הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה בַּֽחֲלַל חֶ֨רֶב֙ א֣וֹ בְמֵ֔ת אֽוֹ בְעֶ֥צֶם אָדָ֖ם א֣וֹ בְקָ֑בֶר יִטְמָ֖א שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִֽים | Si quis in agro tetigerit cadaver occisi hominis, aut per se mortui, sive os illius, vel sepulchrum, immundus erit septem diebus. | “Whoever in the open field touches one who is slain with a sword, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days. |
| 17 | And they shall take of the ashes of the burning and of the sin offering, and shall pour living waters upon them into a vessel. | Để thanh tẩy người bị nhiễm uế, người ta sẽ lấy một chút tro của con vật đã được hoả tế làm lễ tạ tội, mà pha với nước lã trong một chiếc bình. | καὶ λήμψονται τῷ ἀκαθάρτῳ ἀπὸ τῆς σποδιᾶς τῆς κατακεκαυμένης τοῦ ἁγνισμοῦ, καὶ ἐκχεοῦσιν ἐπ᾽ αὐτὴν ὕδωρ ζῶν εἰς σκεῦος· | וְלָֽקְחוּ֙ לַטָּמֵ֔א מֵעֲפַ֖ר שְׂרֵפַ֣ת הַֽחַטָּ֑את וְנָתַ֥ן עָלָ֛יו מַ֥יִם חַיִּ֖ים אֶל כֶּֽלִי | Tollentque de cineribus combustionis atque peccati, et mittent aquas vivas super eos in vas: | “For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured on them in a vessel. |
| 18 | And a man that is clean shall dip hyssop in them, and shall sprinkle therewith all the tent, and all the furniture, and the men that are defiled with touching any such thing: | Rồi một người còn thanh sạch lấy nhành hương thảo nhúng vào nước mà rảy lên lều, lên tất cả các vật dụng cùng mọi người ở đó, lên kẻ đã đụng vào xương cốt, vào người bị gươm đâm, hoặc tử thi hay là mồ mả. | καὶ λήμψεται ὕσσωπον καὶ βάψει εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ ἀνὴρ καθαρός, καὶ περιρανεῖ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον καὶ ἐπὶ τὰ σκεύη καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς ψυχάς, ὅσαι ἐὰν ὦσιν ἐκεῖ, καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν ἡμμένον τοῦ ὀστέου τοῦ ἀνθρωπίνου ἢ τοῦ τραυματίου ἢ τοῦ τεθνηκότος ἢ τοῦ μνήματος· | וְלָקַ֨ח אֵז֜וֹב וְטָבַ֣ל בַּמַּיִם֮ אִ֣ישׁ טָהוֹר֒ וְהִזָּ֤ה עַל הָאֹ֨הֶל֙ וְעַל כָּל הַכֵּלִ֔ים וְעַל הַנְּפָשׁ֖וֹת אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָֽיוּ שָׁ֑ם וְעַל הַנֹּגֵ֗עַ בַּעֶ֨צֶם֙ א֣וֹ בֶֽחָלָ֔ל א֥וֹ בַמֵּ֖ת א֥וֹ בַקָּֽבֶר | in quibus cum homo mundus tinxerit hyssopum, asperget ex eo omne tentorium, et cunctam supellectilem, et homines hujuscemodi contagione pollutos: | A clean person shall take hyssop, dip it in the water, and sprinkle it on the tent, on all the vessels, on the persons who were there, and on him who touched the bone, or the slain, or the dead, or the grave. |
| 19 | And in this manner he that is clean shall purify the unclean on the third and on the seventh day. And being expiated the seventh day, he shall wash both himself and his garments, and be unclean until the evening. | Ngày thứ ba và thứ bảy, người thanh sạch phải rảy nước lên người bị nhiễm uế; và ngày thứ bảy người bị nhiễm uế sẽ được sạch tội. On the seventh day, he shall purify him. He shall wash his clothes and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at evening. |

The water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him. He is unclean. |
| 21 | This precept shall be an ordinance for ever. He also that sprinkled the water, shall wash his garments. Every one that shall touch the waters of expiation, shall be unclean until the evening. | Đó là quy tắc vĩnh viễn cho chúng. Người nào rảy nước tẩy uế thì phải giặt áo mình; ai đụng vào nước đó sẽ bị nhiễm uế đến chiều. | καὶ ἔσται ὑμῖν νόμιμον αἰώνιον· καὶ ὁ περιραίνων ὕδωρ ῥαντισμοῦ πλυνεῖ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ ἁπτόμενος τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ ῥαντισμοῦ ἀκάθαρτος ἔσται ἕως ἑσπέρας· | וְהָיְתָ֥ה לָּהֶ֖ם לְחֻקַּ֣ת עוֹלָ֑ם וּמַזֵּ֤ה מֵֽי הַנִּדָּה֙ יְכַבֵּ֣ס בְּגָדָ֔יו וְהַנֹּגֵ֨עַ֙ בְּמֵ֣י הַנִּדָּ֔ה יִטְמָ֖א עַד הָעָֽרֶב | Erit hoc præceptum legitimum sempiternum. Ipse quoque qui aspergit aquas, lavabit vestimenta sua. Omnis qui tetigerit aquas expiationis, immundus erit usque ad vesperum. | It shall be a perpetual statute to them. He who sprinkles the water for impurity shall wash his clothes, and he who touches the water for impurity shall be unclean until evening. |
