1It is the part of man to prepare the soul: and of the Lord to govern the tongue.Suy nghĩ lo toan là việc của con người,còn nói câu trả lời là do ĐỨC CHÚA.καρδία δὲ ἀνδρὸς λογιζέσθω δίκαια, ἵνα ὑπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ διορθωθῇ τὰ διαβήματα αὐτοῦ. The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2All the ways of a man are open to his eyes: the Lord is the weigher of spirits.Con người cho lối sống của mình là trong sáng,nhưng ĐỨC CHÚA thấu suốt mọi tâm can.θεωρῶν ὀφθαλμὸς καλὰ εὐφραίνει καρδίαν, φήμη δὲ ἀγαθὴ πιαίνει ὀστᾶ. Omnes viæ hominis patent oculis ejus; spirituum ponderator est Dominus. All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the motives.
3Lay open thy works to the Lord: and thy thoughts shall be directed.Hãy ký thác việc bạn làm cho ĐỨC CHÚA,dự tính của bạn ắt sẽ thành công.ὃς ἀπωθεῖται παιδείαν μισεῖ ἑαυτόν, ὁ δὲ τηρῶν ἐλέγχους ἀγαπᾷ ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ. Revela Domino opera tua, et dirigentur cogitationes tuæ.Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans shall succeed.

5Every proud man is an abomination to the Lord: though hand should be joined to hand, he is not innocent. The beginning of a good way is to do justice; and this is more acceptable with God, than to offer sacrifices.Đứa kiêu căng làm ĐỨC CHÚA ghê tởm,hẳn nó không thoát khỏi án phạt đâu.πάντα τὰ ἔργα τοῦ ταπεινοῦ φανερὰ παρὰ τῷ θεῷ, οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ἐν ἡμέρᾳ κακῇ ὀλοῦνται. Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD; they shall certainly not be unpunished.
