| 1 | Wherefore the whole multitude crying wept that night. | Toàn thể cộng đồng lớn tiếng kêu la, dân chúng khóc lóc cả đêm ấy. | Καὶ ἀναλαβοῦσα πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ ἐνέδωκεν φωνῇ, καὶ ἔκλαιεν ὁ λαὸς ὅλην τὴν νύκτα ἐκείνην. | וַתִּשָּׂא֙ כָּל הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה וַֽיִּתְּנ֖וּ אֶת קוֹלָ֑ם וַיִּבְכּ֥וּ הָעָ֖ם בַּלַּ֥יְלָה הַהֽוּא | Igitur vociferans omnis turba flevit nocte illa, | All the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. |
| 2 | And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron, saying: | Tất cả con cái Ít-ra-en đều kêu trách ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron, toàn thể cộng đồng nói với các ông: “Phải chi chúng tôi chết ở bên đất Ai-cập, hoặc phải chi chúng tôi chết trong sa mạc này cho xong! | καὶ διεγόγγυζον ἐπὶ Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραήλ, καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτοὺς πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγή Ὄφελον ἀπεθάνομεν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ἢ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ταύτῃ εἰ ἀπεθάνομεν· | וַיִּלֹּ֨נוּ֙ עַל מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְעַֽל אַהֲרֹ֔ן כֹּ֖ל בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַֽיֹּאמְר֨וּ אֲלֵהֶ֜ם כָּל הָעֵדָ֗ה לוּ מַ֨תְנוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם א֛וֹ בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה לוּ מָֽתְנוּ | et murmurati sunt contra Moysen et Aaron cuncti filii Israël, dicentes: | All the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “We wish that we had died in the land of Egypt, or that we had died in this wilderness! |
| 3 | Would God that we had died in Egypt and would God we may die in this vast wilderness, and that the Lord may not bring us into this land, lest we fall by the sword, and our wives and children be led away captives. Is it not better to return into Egypt? | Sao ĐỨC CHÚA lại đem chúng tôi vào đất này để chúng tôi ngã gục dưới lưỡi gươm, để vợ con chúng tôi bị giặc bắt? Chúng tôi trở về Ai-cập có tốt hơn không?” | καὶ ἵνα τί Κύριος εἰσάγει ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην πεσεῖν ἐν πολέμῳ; αἱ γυναῖκες ἡμῶν καὶ τὰ παιδία ἔσονται εἰς διαρπαγήν· νῦν οὖν βέλτιον ἡμῖν ἐστιν ἀποστραφῆναι εἰς Αἴγυπτον. | וְלָמָ֣ה יְ֠הוָה מֵבִ֨יא אֹתָ֜נוּ אֶל הָאָ֤רֶץ הַזֹּאת֙ לִנְפֹּ֣ל בַּחֶ֔רֶב נָשֵׁ֥ינוּ וְטַפֵּ֖נוּ יִהְי֣וּ לָבַ֑ז הֲל֧וֹא ט֦וֹב לָ֖נוּ שׁ֥וּב מִצְרָֽיְמָה | Utinam mortui essemus in Ægypto: et in hac vasta solitudine utinam pereamus, et non inducat nos Dominus in terram istam, ne cadamus gladio, et uxores ac liberi nostri ducantur captivi. Nonne melius est reverti in Ægyptum? | Why does the LORD bring us to this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be captured or killed! Wouldn’t it be better for us to return into Egypt?” |
| 4 | And they said one to another: Let us appoint a captain, and let us return into Egypt. | Họ bảo nhau: “Chúng ta hãy đặt lên một người cầm đầu và trở về Ai-cập.” | καὶ εἶπαν ἕτερος τῷ ἑτέρῳ Δῶμεν ἀρχηγὸν καὶ ἀποστρέψωμεν εἰς Αἴγυπτον. | וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ אִ֣ישׁ אֶל אָחִ֑יו נִתְּנָ֥ה רֹ֖אשׁ וְנָשׁ֥וּבָה מִצְרָֽיְמָה | Dixeruntque alter ad alterum: Constituamus nobis ducem, et revertamur in Ægyptum. | They said to one another, “Let’s choose a leader, and let’s return into Egypt.” |
| 5 | And when Moses and Aaron heard this, they fell down flat upon the ground before the multitude of the children of Israel. | Trước mặt toàn thể đại hội của cộng đồng con cái Ít-ra-en, ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron sấp mặt xuống đất. | καὶ ἔπεσεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐναντίον πάσης συναγωγῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ. | וַיִּפֹּ֥ל מֹשֶׁ֛ה וְאַהֲרֹ֖ן עַל פְּנֵיהֶ֑ם לִפְנֵ֕י כָּל קְהַ֥ל עֲדַ֖ת בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל | Quo audito, Moyses et Aaron ceciderunt proni in terram coram omni multitudine filiorum Israël. | Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. |

| 7 | And said to all the multitude of the children of Israel: The land which we have gone round is very good: | và nói với toàn thể cộng đồng con cái Ít-ra-en: “Miền đất chúng tôi đã đi qua để do thám là một đất tốt thật là tốt! | καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς πᾶσαν συναγωγὴν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ λέγοντες Ἡ γῆ, ἣν κατεσκεψάμεθα αὐτήν, ἀγαθή ἐστιν σφόδρα σφόδρα· | וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ אֶל כָּל עֲדַ֥ת בְּנֵֽי יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָבַ֤רְנוּ בָהּ֙ לָת֣וּר אֹתָ֔הּ טוֹבָ֥ה הָאָ֖רֶץ מְאֹ֥ד מְאֹֽד | et ad omnem multitudinem filiorum Israël locuti sunt: Terra, quam circuivimus, valde bona est. | They spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, “The land, which we passed through to spy it out, is an exceedingly good land. |
| 8 | If the Lord be favourable, he will bring us into it, and give us a land flowing with milk and honey. | Nếu ĐỨC CHÚA thương ta, Người sẽ đưa ta vào đất ấy và ban đất ấy cho ta, một đất tràn trề sữa và mật. | εἰ αἱρετίζει ἡμᾶς Κύριος, εἰσάξει ἡμᾶς εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην καὶ δώσει αὐτὴν ἡμῖν, γῆ ἥτις ἐστὶν ῥέουσα γάλα καὶ μέλι. | אִם חָפֵ֥ץ בָּ֨נוּ֙ יְהוָ֔ה וְהֵבִ֤יא אֹתָ֨נוּ֙ אֶל הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את וּנְתָנָ֖הּ לָ֑נוּ אֶ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר הִ֛וא זָבַ֥ת חָלָ֖ב וּדְבָֽשׁ | Si propitius fuerit Dominus, inducet nos in eam, et tradet humum lacte et melle manantem. | If the LORD delights in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it to us: a land which flows with milk and honey. |
| 9 | Be not rebellious against the Lord: and fear ye not the people of this land, for we are able to eat them up as bread. All aid is gone from them: the Lord is with us, fear ye not. | Vậy anh em đừng nổi loạn chống ĐỨC CHÚA, và đừng sợ dân đất ấy! Chúng ta sẽ nuốt chửng chúng. Thần hộ mệnh chúng đã lìa xa chúng, còn ĐỨC CHÚA thì ở với ta. Đừng sợ chúng!” | ἀλλὰ ἀπὸ τοῦ κυρίου μὴ ἀποστάται γίνεσθε· ὑμεῖς δὲ μὴ φοβηθῆτε τὸν λαὸν τῆς γῆς, ὅτι κατάβρωμα ἡμῖν ἐστίν· ἀφέστηκεν γὰρ ὁ καιρὸς ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν, ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐν ἡμῖν· μὴ φοβηθῆτε αὐτούς. | אַ֣ךְ בַּֽיהוָה֮ אַל תִּמְרֹדוּ֒ וְאַתֶּ֗ם אַל תִּֽירְאוּ֙ אֶת עַ֣ם הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֥י לַחְמֵ֖נוּ הֵ֑ם סָ֣ר צִלָּ֧ם מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֛ם וַֽיהוָ֥ה אִתָּ֖נוּ אַל תִּירָאֻֽם | Nolite rebelles esse contra Dominum: neque timeatis populum terræ hujus, quia sicut panem ita eos possumus devorare. Recessit ab eis omne præsidium: Dominus nobiscum est, nolite metuere. | Only don’t rebel against the LORD, neither fear the people of the land; for they are bread for us. Their defense is removed from over them, and the LORD is with us. Don’t fear them.” |
| 10 | And when all the multitude cried out, and would have stoned them, the glory of the Lord appeared over the tabernacle of the covenant to all the children of Israel. | Cả cộng đồng đang bàn chuyện ném đá các ông, thì vinh quang ĐỨC CHÚA xuất hiện trong Lều Hội Ngộ trước mắt toàn thể con cái Ít-ra-en. | καὶ εἶπεν πᾶσα ἡ συναγωγὴ καταλιθοβολῆσαι αὐτούς. καὶ ἡ δόξα Κυρίου ὤφθη ἐν νεφέλῃ ἐπὶ τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου πᾶσι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραήλ. | וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ כָּל הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה לִרְגּ֥וֹם אֹתָ֖ם בָּאֲבָנִ֑ים וּכְב֣וֹד יְהוָ֗ה נִרְאָה֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד אֶֽל כָּל בְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל | Cumque clamaret omnis multitudo, et lapidibus eos vellet opprimere, apparuit gloria Domini super tectum fœderis cunctis filiis Israël. | But all the congregation threatened to stone them with stones. The LORD’s glory appeared in the Tent of Meeting to all the children of Israel. |
| 11 | And the Lord said to Moses: How long will this people detract me? how long will they not believe me for all the signs that I have wrought before them? | ĐỨC CHÚA phán với ông Mô-sê: “Dân này còn khinh thị Ta đến bao giờ nữa? Cho đến bao giờ, chúng không chịu tin vào Ta, mặc dầu Ta đã làm bấy nhiêu dấu lạ ở giữa chúng? | Καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἕως τίνος παροξύνει με ὁ λαὸς οὗτος; καὶ ἕως τίνος οὐ πιστεύουσίν μοι ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς σημείοις οἷς ἐποίησα ἐν αὐτοῖς; | וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה עַד אָ֥נָה יְנַאֲצֻ֖נִי הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה וְעַד אָ֨נָה֙ לֹא יַאֲמִ֣ינוּ בִ֔י בְּכֹל֙ הָֽאֹת֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ | Et dixit Dominus ad Moysen: Usquequo detrahet mihi populus iste? quousque non credent mihi, in omnibus signis quæ feci coram eis? | The LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? How long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them? |
| 12 | I will strike them therefore with pestilence, and will consume them: but thee I will make a ruler over a great nation, and a mightier than this is. | Ta sẽ dùng ôn dịch mà đánh phạt chúng, sẽ không cho chúng hưởng gia nghiệp, rồi Ta sẽ làm cho ngươi thành một dân tộc lớn và mạnh hơn chúng.” | πατάξω αὐτοὺς θανάτῳ καὶ ἀπολῶ αὐτούς, καὶ ποιήσω σὲ καὶ τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός σου εἰς ἔθνος μέγα καὶ πολὺ μᾶλλον ἢ τοῦτο. | אַכֶּ֥נּוּ בַדֶּ֖בֶר וְאוֹרִשֶׁ֑נּוּ וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ אֹֽתְךָ֔ לְגוֹי גָּד֥וֹל וְעָצ֖וּם מִמֶּֽנּוּ | Feriam igitur eos pestilentia, atque consumam: te autem faciam principem super gentem magnam, et fortiorem quam hæc est. | I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.” |
| 13 | And Moses said to the Lord: That the Egyptians, from the midst of whom thou hast brought forth this people, | Ông Mô-sê thưa với ĐỨC CHÚA: “Người Ai-cập đã nghe biết rằng Ngài đã dùng sức mạnh của Ngài mà đưa dân này ra khỏi đất chúng. | καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς πρὸς Κύριον Καὶ ἀκούσεται Αἴγυπτος, ὅτι ἤγαγες τῇ ἰσχύι σου τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ἐξ αὐτῶν· | וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶל יְהוָ֑ה וְשָׁמְע֣וּ מִצְרַ֔יִם כִּֽי הֶעֱלִ֧יתָ בְכֹחֲךָ֛ אֶת הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה מִקִּרְבּֽוֹ | Et ait Moyses ad Dominum: Ut audiant Ægyptii, de quorum medio eduxisti populum istum, | Moses said to the LORD, “Then the Egyptians will hear it; for you brought up this people in your might from among them. |
| 14 | And the inhabitants of this land, (who have heard that thou, O Lord, art among this people, and art seen face to face, and thy cloud protecteth them, and thou goest before them in a pillar of a cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night,) | Và chúng đã kể lại việc đó cho cư dân đất này. Dân đất này đã nghe biết rằng chính Ngài, ĐỨC CHÚA, Ngài ở giữa dân này, chính Ngài, ĐỨC CHÚA, Ngài cho họ được thấy Ngài tận mắt, rằng đám mây của Ngài dừng trên họ, và Ngài đi trước họ ban ngày trong cột mây và ban đêm trong cột lửa. | ἀλλὰ καὶ πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ταύτης ἀκηκόασιν ὅτι σὺ εἶ Κύριος ἐν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ, ὅστις ὀφθαλμοῖς κατ᾽ ὀφθαλμοὺς ὀπτάζῃ, Κύριε. καὶ ἡ νεφέλη σου ἐφέστηκεν ἐπ᾽ αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐν στύλῳ νεφέλης συνπορεύῃ πρότερος αὐτῶν τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ἐν στύλῳ πυρὸς τὴν νύκτα. | וְאָמְר֗וּ אֶל יוֹשֵׁב֮ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּאת֒ שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ כִּֽי אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה בְּקֶ֖רֶב הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֑ה אֲשֶׁר עַ֨יִן בְּעַ֜יִן נִרְאָ֣ה אַתָּ֣ה יְהוָ֗ה וַעֲנָֽנְךָ֙ עֹמֵ֣ד עֲלֵהֶ֔ם וּבְעַמֻּ֣ד עָנָ֗ן אַתָּ֨ה הֹלֵ֤ךְ לִפְנֵיהֶם֙ יוֹמָ֔ם וּבְעַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ לָֽיְלָה | et habitatores terræ hujus, qui audierunt quod tu, Domine, in populo isto sis, et facie videaris ad faciem, et nubes tua protegat illos, et in columna nubis præcedas eos per diem, et in columna ignis per noctem: | They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you LORD are among this people; for you LORD are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night. |
| 15 | May hear that thou hast killed so great a multitude as it were one man and may say: | Thế mà ĐỨC CHÚA lại muốn giết cả dân này như giết một người! Các nước đã từng nghe danh tiếng Ngài sẽ nói: | καὶ ἐκτρίψεις τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον ὡσεὶ ἄνθρωπον ἕνα, καὶ ἐροῦσιν τὰ ἔθνη ὅσοι ἀκηκόασιν τὸ ὄνομά σου λέγοντες | וְהֵמַתָּ֛ה אֶת הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה כְּאִ֣ישׁ אֶחָ֑ד וְאָֽמְרוּ֙ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר שָׁמְע֥וּ אֶֽת שִׁמְעֲךָ֖ לֵאמֹֽר | quod occideris tantam multitudinem quasi unum hominem, et dicant: | Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying, |
| 16 | He could not bring the people into the land for which he had sworn, therefore did he kill them in the wilderness. | ‘Chính bởi vì ĐỨC CHÚA đã không thể đem dân ấy vào đất Người đã thề ban cho chúng, mà Người đã hạ sát chúng trong sa mạc.’ | Παρὰ τὸ μὴ δύνασθαι Κύριον εἰσαγαγεῖν τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον εἰς τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσεν αὐτοῖς, κατέστρωσεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ. | מִבִּלְתִּ֞י יְכֹ֣לֶת יְהוָ֗ה לְהָבִיא֙ אֶת הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֶל הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּ֣ע לָהֶ֑ם וַיִּשְׁחָטֵ֖ם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר | Non poterat introducere populum in terram pro qua juraverat: idcirco occidit eos in solitudine? | ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’ |
| 17 | Let their the strength of the Lord be magnified, as thou hast sworn, saying: | Vậy giờ đây, xin Chúa Thượng của con biểu dương sức mạnh, như Ngài đã phán: | καὶ νῦν ὑψωθήτω ἡ ἰσχύς σου, Κύριε, ὃν τρόπον εἶπας λέγων | וְעַתָּ֕ה יִגְדַּל נָ֖א כֹּ֣חַ אֲדֹנָ֑י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתָּ לֵאמֹֽר | Magnificetur ergo fortitudo Domini sicut jurasti, dicens: | Now please let the power of the Lord be great, according as you have spoken, saying, |
| 18 | The Lord is patient and full of mercy, taking away iniquity and wickedness, and leaving no man clear, who visitest the sins of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. | ‘ĐỨC CHÚA chậm giận và giàu ân nghĩa, chịu đựng lỗi lầm và tội ác, nhưng không dung tha điều gì; phạt con cháu đến ba bốn đời vì lỗi lầm của cha ông.’ | Κύριος μακρόθυμος καὶ πολυέλεος καὶ ἀληθινός, ἀφαιρῶν ἀνομίας καὶ ἀδικίας καὶ ἁμαρτίας· καὶ καθαρισμῷ οὐ καθαριεῖ τὸν ἔνοχον, ἀποδιδοὺς ἁμαρτίας πατέρων ἐπὶ τέκνα ἕως τρίτης καὶ τετάρτης. | יְהוָ֗ה אֶ֤רֶךְ אַפַּ֨יִם֙ וְרַב חֶ֔סֶד נֹשֵׂ֥א עָוֺ֖ן וָפָ֑שַׁע וְנַקֵּה֙ לֹ֣א יְנַקֶּ֔ה פֹּקֵ֞ד עֲוֺ֤ן אָבוֹת֙ עַל בָּנִ֔ים עַל שִׁלֵּשִׁ֖ים וְעַל רִבֵּעִֽים | Dominus patiens et multæ misericordiæ, auferens iniquitatem et scelera, nullumque innoxium derelinquens, qui visitas peccata patrum in filios in tertiam et quartam generationem. | ‘The LORD is slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, forgiving iniquity and disobedience; and he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation.’ |
| 19 | Forgive, I beseech thee, the sins of this people, according to the greatness of thy mercy, as thou hast been merciful to them from their going out of Egypt unto this place. | Vậy xin Ngài tha thứ lỗi lầm của dân này theo lượng cả ân nghĩa của Ngài, như Ngài đã từng chịu đựng dân này từ Ai-cập cho đến đây.” | ἄφες τὴν ἁμαρτίαν τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ κατὰ τὸ μέγα ἔλεός σου, καθάπερ ἵλεως αὐτοῖς ἐγένου ἀπ᾽ Αἰγύπτου ἕως τοῦ νῦν. | סְלַֽח נָ֗א לַעֲוֺ֛ן הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּ֖ה כְּגֹ֣דֶל חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ וְכַאֲשֶׁ֤ר נָשָׂ֨אתָה֙ לָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם וְעַד הֵֽנָּה | Dimitte, obsecro, peccatum populi hujus secundum magnitudinem misericordiæ tuæ, sicut propitius fuisti egredientibus de Ægypto usque ad locum istum. | Please pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of your loving kindness, and just as you have forgiven this people, from Egypt even until now.” |
| 20 | And the Lord said: I have forgiven according to thy word. | ĐỨC CHÚA đáp: “Ta tha thứ như lời ngươi xin. | καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἵλεως αὐτοῖς εἰμὶ κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου· | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוָ֔ה סָלַ֖חְתִּי כִּדְבָרֶֽךָ | Dixitque Dominus: Dimisi juxta verbum tuum. | The LORD said, “I have pardoned according to your word; |
| 21 | As I live: and the whole earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. | Tuy nhiên, Ta lấy sự sống của Ta, lấy vinh quang của Ta là ĐỨC CHÚA, vinh quang tràn đầy cõi đất, mà thề: | ἀλλὰ ζῶ ἐγὼ καὶ ζῶν τὸ ὄνομά μου, καὶ ἐμπλήσει ἡ δόξα Κυρίου πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν. | וְאוּלָ֖ם חַי אָ֑נִי וְיִמָּלֵ֥א כְבוֹד יְהוָ֖ה אֶת כָּל הָאָֽרֶץ | Vivo ego: et implebitur gloria Domini universa terra. | but in very deed—as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the LORD’s glory— |
| 22 | But yet all the men that have seen my majesty, and the signs that I have done in Egypt, and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now ten times, and have not obeyed my voice, | Không một ai trong những người đã thấy vinh quang của Ta và những dấu lạ Ta đã làm bên Ai-cập và trong sa mạc, nhưng đã thách thức Ta cả mười lần và đã không chịu nghe theo tiếng Ta, | ὅτι πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ ὁρῶντες τὴν δόξαν μου καὶ τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐποίησα ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, καὶ ἐπείρασάν με τοῦτο δέκατον καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσάν μου τῆς φωνῆς, | כִּ֣י כָל הָאֲנָשִׁ֗ים הָרֹאִ֤ים אֶת כְּבֹדִי֙ וְאֶת אֹ֣תֹתַ֔י אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂ֥יתִי בְמִצְרַ֖יִם וּבַמִּדְבָּ֑ר וַיְנַסּ֣וּ אֹתִ֗י זֶ֚ה עֶ֣שֶׂר פְּעָמִ֔ים וְלֹ֥א שָׁמְע֖וּ בְּקוֹלִֽי | Attamen omnes homines qui viderunt majestatem meam, et signa quæ feci in Ægypto et in solitudine, et tentaverunt me jam per decem vices, nec obedierunt voci meæ, | because all those men who have seen my glory and my signs, which I worked in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tempted me these ten times, and have not listened to my voice; |
| 23 | Shall not see the land for which I aware to their fathers, neither shall any one of them that hath detracted me behold it. | không một ai trong những người ấy sẽ được thấy miền đất Ta đã thề hứa với cha ông chúng, tất cả những ai khinh thị Ta sẽ không được thấy đất ấy. | εἰ μὴν οὐκ ὄψονται τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν· ἀλλ᾽ ἢ τὰ τέκνα αὐτῶν ἅ ἐστιν μετ᾽ ἐμοῦ ὧδε, ὅσοι οὐκ οἴδασιν ἀγαθὸν οὐδὲ κακόν, πᾶς νεώτερος ἄπειρος, τούτοις δώσω τὴν γῆν· πάντες δὲ οἱ παροξύναντές με οὐκ ὄψονται αὐτήν. | אִם יִרְאוּ֙ אֶת הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבַּ֖עְתִּי לַאֲבֹתָ֑ם וְכָל מְנַאֲצַ֖י לֹ֥א יִרְאֽוּהָ | non videbunt terram pro qua juravi patribus eorum, nec quisquam ex illis qui detraxit mihi, intuebitur eam. | surely they shall not see the land which I swore to their fathers, neither shall any of those who despised me see it. |
| 24 | My servant Caleb, who being full of another spirit hath followed me, I will bring into this land which he hath gone round: and his seed shall possess it. | Nhưng tôi trung của Ta là Ca-lếp, vì được một thần khí khác thúc đẩy, và đã một lòng theo Ta, thì Ta sẽ đưa nó vào đất nó đã đi tới, và dòng dõi nó sẽ chiếm hữu đất ấy. | ὁ δὲ παῖς μου Χαλέβ, ὅτι ἐγενήθη πνεῦμα ἕτερον ἐν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἐπηκολούθησέν μοι, εἰσάξω αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν γῆν εἰς ἣν εἰσῆλθεν ἐκεῖ, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα αὐτοῦ κληρονομήσει αὐτήν. | וְעַבְדִּ֣י כָלֵ֗ב עֵ֣קֶב הָֽיְתָ֞ה ר֤וּחַ אַחֶ֨רֶת֙ עִמּ֔וֹ וַיְמַלֵּ֖א אַחֲרָ֑י וַהֲבִֽיאֹתִ֗יו אֶל הָאָ֨רֶץ֙ אֲשֶׁר בָּ֣א שָׁ֔מָּה וְזַרְע֖וֹ יוֹרִשֶֽׁנָּה | Servum meum Caleb, qui plenus alio spiritu secutus est me, inducam in terram hanc, quam circuivit; et semen ejus possidebit eam. | But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and has followed me fully, him I will bring into the land into which he went. His offspring shall possess it. |
| 25 | For the Amalecite and the Chanaanite dwell in the valleys. Tomorrow remove the camp, and return into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea. | Vì người A-ma-lếch và người Ca-na-an ở vùng đồng bằng, nên ngày mai các ngươi hãy quay trở lại, và theo hướng Biển Sậy mà vào sa mạc.” | ὁ δὲ Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ ὁ Χαναναῖος κατοικοῦσιν ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι· αὔριον ἐπιστράφητε ὑμεῖς καὶ ἀπάρατε εἰς τὴν ἔρημον, ὁδὸν θάλασσαν ἐρυθράν. | וְהָֽעֲמָלֵקִ֥י וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֖י יוֹשֵׁ֣ב בָּעֵ֑מֶק מָחָ֗ר פְּנ֨וּ וּסְע֥וּ לָכֶ֛ם הַמִּדְבָּ֖ר דֶּ֥רֶךְ יַם סֽוּף | Quoniam Amalecites et Chananæus habitant in vallibus. Cras movete castra, et revertimini in solitudinem per viam maris Rubri. | Since the Amalekite and the Canaanite dwell in the valley, tomorrow turn and go into the wilderness by the way to the Red Sea.” |
| 26 | And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying: | ĐỨC CHÚA lại phán với ông Mô-sê và ông A-ha-ron: | Καὶ εἶπεν Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν λέγων | וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה אֶל מֹשֶׁ֥ה וְאֶֽל אַהֲרֹ֖ן לֵאמֹֽר | Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen et Aaron, dicens: | The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, |
| 27 | How long doth this wicked multitude murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. | “Cho tới bao giờ cái cộng đồng hư đốn này cứ tiếp tục lẩm bẩm kêu trách Ta? Ta đã nghe thấy toàn những lời cằn nhằn, đám con cái Ít-ra-en này cứ lẩm bẩm chống Ta. | Ἕως τίνος τὴν συναγωγὴν τὴν πονηρὰν ταύτην; αὐτοὶ γογγύζουσιν ἐναντίον ἐμοῦ· τὴν γόγγυσιν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ἣν ἐγόγγυσαν περὶ ὑμῶν, ἀκήκοα. | עַד מָתַ֗י לָעֵדָ֤ה הָֽרָעָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את אֲשֶׁ֛ר הֵ֥מָּה מַלִּינִ֖ים עָלָ֑י אֶת תְּלֻנּ֞וֹת בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֲשֶׁ֨ר הֵ֧מָּה מַלִּינִ֛ים עָלַ֖י שָׁמָֽעְתִּי | Usquequo multitudo hæc pessima murmurat contra me? querelas filiorum Israël audivi. | “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation that complain against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me. |
| 28 | Say therefore to them: As I live, saith the Lord: According as you have spoken in my hearing, so will I do to you. | Ngươi hãy nói với chúng: Ta thề –sấm ngôn của ĐỨC CHÚA– Ta sẽ xử với các ngươi như lời các ngươi kêu thấu tai Ta. | εἰπὸν αὐτοῖς Ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει Κύριος, εἰ μὴν ὃν τρόπον λελαλήκατε εἰς τὰ ὦτά μου, οὕτως ποιήσω ὑμῖν· | אֱמֹ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם חַי אָ֨נִי֙ נְאֻם יְהוָ֔ה אִם לֹ֕א כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּרְתֶּ֖ם בְּאָזְנָ֑י כֵּ֖ן אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶֽם | Dic ergo eis: Vivo ego, ait Dominus: sicut locuti estis audiente me, sic faciam vobis. | Tell them, ‘As I live, says the LORD, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so I will do to you. |
| 29 | In the wilderness shall your carcasses lie. All you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, and have murmured against me, | Trong sa mạc này, thây các ngươi sẽ ngã gục: trong các ngươi, tất cả những người đã được kiểm tra đăng ký, từ hai mươi tuổi trở lên, mà đã cằn nhằn chống Ta, | ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ταύτῃ πεσεῖται τὰ κῶλα ὑμῶν καὶ πᾶσα ἡ ἐπισκοπὴ ὑμῶν καὶ οἱ κατηριθμημένοι ὑμῶν ἀπὸ εἰκοσαετοῦς καὶ ἐπάνω, ὅσοι ἐγόγγυσαν ἐπ᾽ ἐμοί. | בַּמִּדְבָּ֣ר הַ֠זֶּה יִפְּל֨וּ פִגְרֵיכֶ֜ם וְכָל פְּקֻדֵיכֶם֙ לְכָל מִסְפַּרְכֶ֔ם מִבֶּ֛ן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וָמָ֑עְלָה אֲשֶׁ֥ר הֲלִֽינֹתֶ֖ם עָלָֽי | In solitudine hac jacebunt cadavera vestra. Omnes qui numerati estis a viginti annis et supra, et murmurastis contra me, | Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have complained against me, |
| 30 | Shall not enter into the land, over which I lifted up my bend to make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephone, and Josue the son of Nun. | không một ai sẽ được vào đất mà Ta đã giơ tay thề sẽ đưa các ngươi vào cư ngụ, ngoại trừ Ca-lếp, con của Giơ-phun-ne, và Giô-suê, con của Nun. | εἰ ὑμεῖς εἰσελεύσεσθε εἰς τὴν γῆν ἐφ᾽ ἣν ἐξέτεινα τὴν χεῖρά μου κατασκηνῶσαι ὑμᾶς ἐπ᾽ αὐτῆς, ἀλλ᾽ ἢ Χαλὲβ υἱὸς Ἰεφοννὴ καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυή. | אִם אַתֶּם֙ תָּבֹ֣אוּ אֶל הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֤ר נָשָׂ֨אתִי֙ אֶת יָדִ֔י לְשַׁכֵּ֥ן אֶתְכֶ֖ם בָּ֑הּ כִּ֚י אִם כָּלֵ֣ב בֶּן יְפֻנֶּ֔ה וִיהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ בִּן נֽוּן | non intrabitis terram, super quam levavi manum meam ut habitare vos facerem, præter Caleb filium Jephone, et Josue filium Nun. | surely you shall not come into the land concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. |
| 31 | But your children, of whom you said, that they should be a prey to the enemies, will I bring in: that they may see the land which you have despised. | Còn các trẻ con mà các ngươi cho rằng sẽ bị bắt làm chiến lợi phẩm, thì Ta sẽ đưa chúng vào, và chúng sẽ được biết đất các ngươi đã chê bỏ. | καὶ τὰ παιδία ἃ εἴπατε ἐν διαρπαγῇ ἔσεσθαι, εἰσάξω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν, καὶ κληρονομήσουσιν τὴν γῆν ἣν ὑμεῖς ἀπέστητε ἀπ᾽ αὐτῆς. | וְטַ֨פְּכֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם לָבַ֣ז יִהְיֶ֑ה וְהֵבֵיאתִ֣י אֹתָ֔ם וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ אֶת הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר מְאַסְתֶּ֖ם בָּֽהּ | Parvulos autem vestros, de quibus dixistis quod prædæ hostibus forent, introducam, ut videant terram, quæ vobis displicuit. | But I will bring in your little ones that you said should be captured or killed, and they shall know the land which you have rejected. |
| 32 | Your carcasses shall lie in the wilderness. | Còn các ngươi, thây các ngươi sẽ ngã gục trong sa mạc này. | καὶ τὰ κῶλα ὑμῶν πεσεῖται ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ταύτῃ· | וּפִגְרֵיכֶ֖ם אַתֶּ֑ם יִפְּל֖וּ בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּֽה | Vestra cadavera jacebunt in solitudine. | But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness. |
| 33 | Your children shall wander in the desert forty years, and shall bear your fornication, until the carcasses of their fathers be consumed ill the desert, | Và con cái các ngươi sẽ đi lang thang trong sa mạc bốn mươi năm, chúng sẽ mang lấy tội phản bội của các ngươi cho tới khi tất cả các ngươi thành thây ma trong sa mạc. | οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ ὑμῶν ἔσονται νεμόμενοι ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη, καὶ ἀνοίσουσιν τὴν πορνείαν ὑμῶν ἕως ἀναλωθῇ τὰ κῶλα ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ. | וּ֠בְנֵיכֶם יִהְי֨וּ רֹעִ֤ים בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה וְנָשְׂא֖וּ אֶת זְנוּתֵיכֶ֑ם עַד תֹּ֥ם פִּגְרֵיכֶ֖ם בַּמִּדְבָּֽר | Filii vestri erunt vagi in deserto annis quadraginta, et portabunt fornicationem vestram, donec consumantur cadavera patrum in deserto, | Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies are consumed in the wilderness. |
| 34 | According to the number of the forty days, wherein you viewed the land: year shall be counted for a day. And forty years you shall receive your iniquities, and shall know my revenge: | Theo số ngày các ngươi đã đi do thám đất –bốn mươi ngày– mỗi ngày tính là một năm, các ngươi sẽ phải gánh chịu tội ác của các ngươi bốn mươi năm, và các ngươi sẽ biết Ta trừng phạt những kẻ bất tuân như thế nào. | κατὰ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἡμερῶν ὅσας κατεσκέψασθε τὴν γῆν, τεσσεράκοντα ἡμέρας, ἡμέραν τοῦ ἐνιαυτοῦ, λήμψεσθε τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη, καὶ γνώσεσθε τὸν θυμὸν τῆς ὀργῆς μου. | בְּמִסְפַּ֨ר הַיָּמִ֜ים אֲשֶׁר תַּרְתֶּ֣ם אֶת הָאָרֶץ֮ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים יוֹם֒ י֣וֹם לַשָּׁנָ֞ה י֣וֹם לַשָּׁנָ֗ה תִּשְׂאוּ֙ אֶת עֲוֺנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם אַרְבָּעִ֖ים שָׁנָ֑ה וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם אֶת תְּנוּאָתִֽי | juxta numerum quadraginta dierum, quibus considerastis terram: annus pro die imputabitur. Et quadraginta annis recipietis iniquitates vestras, et scietis ultionem meam: | After the number of the days in which you spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, you will bear your iniquities, even forty years, and you will know my alienation.’ |
| 35 | For as I have spoken, so will I do to all this wicked multitude, that hath risen up together against me: in this wilderness shall it faint away and die. | Ta, ĐỨC CHÚA, Ta đã phán; Ta quyết sẽ thi hành như thế cho toàn thể cộng đồng hư đốn này đã cấu kết với nhau chống lại Ta. Trong sa mạc này chúng sẽ bị tiêu diệt và sẽ chết hết.” | ἐγὼ Κύριος ἐλάλησα, εἰ μὴ οὕτως ποιήσω τῇ συναγωγῇ τῇ πονηρᾷ ταύτῃ τῇ ἐπισυνεσταμένῃ ἐπ᾽ ἐμέ· ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ ταύτῃ ἐξαναλωθήσονται καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀποθανοῦνται. | אֲנִ֣י יְהוָה֮ דִּבַּרְתִּי֒ אִם לֹ֣א זֹ֣את אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֗ה לְכָל הָעֵדָ֤ה הָֽרָעָה֙ הַזֹּ֔את הַנּוֹעָדִ֖ים עָלָ֑י בַּמִּדְבָּ֥ר הַזֶּ֛ה יִתַּ֖מּוּ וְשָׁ֥ם יָמֻֽתוּ | quoniam sicut locutus sum, ita faciam omni multitudini huic pessimæ, quæ consurrexit adversum me: in solitudine hac deficiet, et morietur. | I, the LORD, have spoken. I will surely do this to all this evil congregation who are gathered together against me. In this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.” |
| 36 | Therefore all the men, whom Moses had sent to view the land, and who at their return had made the whole multitude to murmur against him, speaking ill of the land that it was naught, | Những người đã được ông Mô-sê sai đi do thám đất, lúc trở về, đã làm cho cả cộng đồng lẩm bẩm kêu trách ông, vì những lời xuyên tạc về đất ấy, | καὶ οἱ ἄνθρωποι οὓς ἀπέστειλεν Μωυσῆς κατασκέψασθαι τὴν γῆν, καὶ παραγενηθέντες διεγόγγυσαν κατ᾽ αὐτῆς πρὸς τὴν συναγωγὴν ἐξενέγκαι ῥήματα πονηρὰ περὶ τῆς γῆς, | וְהָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים אֲשֶׁר שָׁלַ֥ח מֹשֶׁ֖ה לָת֣וּר אֶת הָאָ֑רֶץ וַיָּשֻׁ֗בוּ וילונו וַיַּלִּ֤ינוּ עָלָיו֙ אֶת כָּל הָ֣עֵדָ֔ה לְהוֹצִ֥יא דִבָּ֖ה עַל הָאָֽרֶץ | Igitur omnes viri, quos miserat Moyses ad contemplandam terram, et qui reversi murmurare fecerant contra eum omnem multitudinem, detrahentes terræ quod esset mala, | The men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the congregation to murmur against him by bringing up an evil report against the land, |
| 37 | Died and were struck in the sight of the Lord. | những người đó đã bị phạt chết ngay trước nhan ĐỨC CHÚA, vì manh tâm xuyên tạc về đất ấy. | καὶ ἀπέθανον οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ κατείπαντες κατὰ τῆς γῆς πονηρὰ ἐν τῇ πληγῇ ἔναντι Κυρίου· | וַיָּמֻ֨תוּ֙ הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים מוֹצִאֵ֥י דִבַּת הָאָ֖רֶץ רָעָ֑ה בַּמַּגֵּפָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י יְהוָֽה | mortui sunt atque percussi in conspectu Domini. | even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before the LORD. |
| 38 | But Josue. the son of Nun. and Caleb the son of Jephone lived, of all them that had gone to view the land. | Chỉ có Giô-suê, con ông Nun, và Ca-lếp, con ông Giơ-phun-ne, trong số các người đi do thám đất, là còn sống.Đnl 1,41-46 | καὶ Ἰησοῦς υἱὸς Ναυὴ καὶ Χαλὲβ υἱὸς Ἰεφοννὴ ἔζησαν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐκείνων τῶν πεπορευμένων κατασκέψασθαι τὴν γῆν. | וִיהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בִּן נ֔וּן וְכָלֵ֖ב בֶּן יְפֻנֶּ֑ה חָיוּ֙ מִן הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם הַֽהֹלְכִ֖ים לָת֥וּר אֶת הָאָֽרֶץ | Josue autem filius Nun, et Caleb filius Jephone, vixerunt ex omnibus qui perrexerant ad considerandam terram. | But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land. |
| 39 | And Moses spoke all these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned exceedingly. | Khi ông Mô-sê thuật lại các những lời ấy cho toàn thể con cái Ít-ra-en, thì dân chúng đã kêu khóc thảm thiết. | Καὶ ἐλάλησεν Μωυσῆς τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ ἐπένθησεν ὁ λαὸς σφόδρα. | וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֶֽל כָּל בְּנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּֽתְאַבְּל֥וּ הָעָ֖ם מְאֹֽד | Locutusque est Moyses universa verba hæc ad omnes filios Israël, et luxit populus nimis. | Moses told these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned greatly. |
| 40 | And behold rising up very early in the morning, they went up to the top of the mountain, and said: We are ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken: for we have sinned. | Thế rồi họ dậy sớm, kéo nhau lên đỉnh núi, và nói: “Này chúng tôi lên nơi mà ĐỨC CHÚA đã nói, vì chúng tôi đã phạm tội.” | καὶ ὀρθρίσαντες τὸ πρωὶ ἀνέβησαν εἰς τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ ὄρους λέγοντες Ἰδοὺ οἵδε ἡμεῖς ἀναβησόμεθα εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν εἶπεν Κύριος, ὅτι ἡμάρτομεν. | וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּ בַבֹּ֔קֶר וַיַּֽעֲל֥וּ אֶל רֹאשׁ הָהָ֖ר לֵאמֹ֑ר הִנֶּ֗נּוּ וְעָלִ֛ינוּ אֶל הַמָּק֛וֹם אֲשֶׁר אָמַ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה כִּ֥י חָטָֽאנוּ | Et ecce mane primo surgentes ascenderunt verticem montis, atque dixerunt: Parati sumus ascendere ad locum, de quo Dominus locutus est: quia peccavimus. | They rose up early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place which the LORD has promised; for we have sinned.” |
| 41 | And Moses said to them: Why transgress you the word of the Lord, which shall not succeed prosperously with you? | Ông Mô-sê trả lời: “Sao anh em lại trái lệnh ĐỨC CHÚA như thế? Việc này sẽ không thành công. | καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς Ἵνα τί ὑμεῖς παραβαίνετε τὸ ῥῆμα Κυρίου; οὐκ εὔοδα ἔσται ὑμῖν. | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה לָ֥מָּה זֶּ֛ה אַתֶּ֥ם עֹבְרִ֖ים אֶת פִּ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְהִ֖וא לֹ֥א תִצְלָֽח | Quibus Moyses: Cur, inquit, transgredimini verbum Domini, quod vobis non cedet in prosperum? | Moses said, “Why now do you disobey the commandment of the LORD, since it shall not prosper? |
| 42 | Go not up, for the Lord is not with you: lest you fall before your enemies. | Đừng lên, ĐỨC CHÚA không ở với anh em đâu: anh em sẽ bị quân thù đánh bại. | μὴ ἀναβαίνετε, οὐ γάρ ἐστιν Κύριος μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν, καὶ πεσεῖσθε πρὸ προσώπου τῶν ἐχθρῶν ὑμῶν. | אַֽל תַּעֲל֔וּ כִּ֛י אֵ֥ין יְהוָ֖ה בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם וְלֹא֙ תִּנָּ֣גְפ֔וּ לִפְנֵ֖י אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם | nolite ascendere: non enim est Dominus vobiscum: ne corruatis coram inimicis vestris. | Don’t go up, for the LORD isn’t among you; that way you won’t be struck down before your enemies. |
| 43 | The Amalecite and the Chanaanite are before you, and by their sword you shall fall, because you would not consent to the Lord, neither will the Lord be with you. | Phải, quân A-ma-lếch và quân Ca-na-an sẽ chặn đánh anh em ở đó, và anh em sẽ ngã gục dưới lưỡi gươm, bởi vì anh em đã bỏ không theo ĐỨC CHÚA, và ĐỨC CHÚA không ở với anh em nữa.” | ὅτι ὁ Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ ὁ Χαναναῖος ἐκεῖ ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν, καὶ πεσεῖσθε μαχαίρᾳ· οὗ εἵνεκεν ἀπεστράφητε ἀπειθοῦντες Κυρίῳ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται Κύριος ἐν ὑμῖν. | כִּי֩ הָעֲמָלֵקִ֨י וְהַכְּנַעֲנִ֥י שָׁם֙ לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם וּנְפַלְתֶּ֖ם בֶּחָ֑רֶב כִּֽי עַל כֵּ֤ן שַׁבְתֶּם֙ מֵאַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְלֹא יִהְיֶ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה עִמָּכֶֽם | Amalecites et Chananæus ante vos sunt, quorum gladio corruetis, eo quod nolueritis acquiescere Domino: nec erit Dominus vobiscum. | For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and you will fall by the sword because you turned back from following the LORD; therefore the LORD will not be with you.” |
| 44 | But they being blinded went up to the top of the mountain. But the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moses departed not from the camp. | Họ khăng khăng kéo lên đỉnh núi, trong khi Hòm Bia Giao Ước của ĐỨC CHÚA cũng như ông Mô-sê không rời khỏi trại. | καὶ διαβιασάμενοι ἀνέβησαν ἐπὶ τὴν κορυφὴν τοῦ ὄρους· ἡ δὲ κιβωτὸς τῆς διαθήκης Κυρίου καὶ Μωυσῆς οὐκ ἐκινήθησαν ἐκ τῆς παρεμβολῆς. | וַיַּעְפִּ֕לוּ לַעֲל֖וֹת אֶל רֹ֣אשׁ הָהָ֑ר וַאֲר֤וֹן בְּרִית יְהוָה֙ וּמֹשֶׁ֔ה לֹא מָ֖שׁוּ מִקֶּ֥רֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה | At illi contenebrati ascenderunt in verticem montis. Arca autem testamenti Domini et Moyses non recesserunt de castris. | But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain. Nevertheless, the ark of the LORD’s covenant and Moses didn’t depart out of the camp. |
| 45 | And the Amalecite came down, and the Chanaanite that dwelt in the mountain: and smiting and slaying them pursued them as far as Horma. | Quân A-ma-lếch và quân Ca-na-an đóng trên núi ấy đã tràn xuống tấn công và đánh đuổi họ tan tành cho tới Khoóc-ma. | καὶ κατέβη ὁ Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ ὁ Χαναναῖος ὁ ἐνκαθήμενος ἐν τῷ ὄρει ἐκείνῳ, καὶ ἐτρέψαντο αὐτοὺς καὶ κατέκοψαν αὐτοὺς ἕως Ἑρμάν· καὶ ἀπεστράφησαν εἰς τὴν παρεμβολήν. | וַיֵּ֤רֶד הָעֲמָלֵקִי֙ וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֔י הַיֹּשֵׁ֖ב בָּהָ֣ר הַה֑וּא וַיַּכּ֥וּם וַֽיַּכְּת֖וּם עַד הַֽחָרְמָֽה | Descenditque Amalecites et Chananæus, qui habitabat in monte: et percutiens eos atque concidens, persecutus est eos usque Horma. | Then the Amalekites came down, and the Canaanites who lived in that mountain, and struck them and beat them down even to Hormah. |
