Behold my eye hath seen all these things, and my ear hath heard them, and I have understood them all. [Ecce omnia hæc vidit oculus meus, et audivit auris mea, et intellexi singula.“Behold, my eye has seen all this. My ear has heard and understood it.
According to your knowledge I also know: neither am I inferior to you.Điều các anh biết, tôi đây cũng biết, tôi chẳng thua kém gì.καὶ οἶδα ὅσα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπίστασθε, καὶ οὐκ ἀσυνετώτερός εἰμι ὑμῶν. What you know, I know also. I am not inferior to you.
But yet I will speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.Phần tôi, tôi sẽ thưa với chính Đấng Toàn Năng,tôi muốn biện hộ cho mình trước Thiên Chúa.οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλ᾽ ἐγὼ πρὸς Κύριον λαλήσω, ἐλέγξω δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ ἐὰν βούληται. Sed tamen ad Omnipotentem loquar, et disputare cum Deo cupio:“Surely I would speak to the Almighty. I desire to reason with God.
Having first shewn that you are forgers of lies, and maintainers of perverse opinions.Còn các anh, hạng láo khoét bày trò,tất cả các anh chỉ là bọn lang băm!ὑμεῖς δέ ἐστε ἰατροὶ ἄδικοι καὶ ἰαταὶ κακῶν πάντες. But you are forgers of lies. You are all physicians of no value.
And I wish you would hold your peace, that you might be thought to be wise men.Phải chi các anh biết nín lặng! Atque utinam taceretis, ut putaremini esse sapientes.Oh that you would be completely silent! Then you would be wise.
Hear ye therefore my reproof, and attend to the judgment of my lips. Audite ergo correptionem meam, et judicium labiorum meorum attendite.Hear now my reasoning. Listen to the pleadings of my lips.
Hath God any need of your lie, that you should speak deceitfully for him?Có phải nhân danh Thiên Chúa mà các anh nói lời dối trá?Có phải vì Người, mà các anh bày chuyện điêu ngoa?πότερον οὐκ ἔναντι Κυρίου λαλεῖτε, ἔναντι δὲ αὐτοῦ φθέγγεσθε δόλον;הַ֭לְאֵל תְּדַבְּר֣וּ עַוְלָ֑ה וְ֝ל֗וֹ תְּֽדַבְּר֥וּ רְמִיָּֽה Will you speak unrighteously for God, and talk deceitfully for him?
Do you accept his person, and do you endeavour to judge for God?Có phải các anh đứng về phe Người?Có phải các anh biện hộ cho Thiên Chúa?ἢ ὑποστελεῖσθε; ὑμεῖς δὲ αὐτοὶ κριταὶ γένεσθε.הֲפָנָ֥יו תִּשָּׂא֑וּן אִם לָאֵ֥ל תְּרִיבֽוּןnumquid faciem ejus accipitis, et pro Deo judicare nitimini? Will you show partiality to him? Will you contend for God?
Or shall it please him, from whom nothing can be concealed? or shall he be deceived as a man, with your deceitful dealings? Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?
He shall reprove you, because in secret you accept his person.Hẳn Người sẽ phiền trách các anh,nếu các anh đã bí mật theo phe phái.οὐθὲν ἧττον ἐλέγξει ὑμᾶς· εἰ δὲ καὶ κρυφῇ πρόσωπα θαυμάσεσθε,הוֹכֵ֣חַ יוֹכִ֣יחַ אֶתְכֶ֑ם אִם בַּ֝סֵּ֗תֶר פָּנִ֥ים תִּשָּׂאֽוּןIpse vos arguet, quoniam in abscondito faciem ejus accipitis. He will surely reprove you if you secretly show partiality.
As soon as he shall move himself, he shall trouble you: and his dread shall fall upon you. Won’t his majesty make you afraid and his dread fall on you?
Your remembrance shall be compared to ashes, and your necks shall be brought to clay.Lời các anh khuyên bảochỉ là những câu châm ngôn tầm thường như tro bụi,lập luận của các anh là thứ lập luận mềm nhũn như đất sét.ἀποβήσεται δὲ ὑμῶν τὸ ἀγαυρίαμα ἴσα σποδῷ, τὸ δὲ σῶμα πήλινον. Memoria vestra comparabitur cineri, et redigentur in lutum cervices vestræ.Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes. Your defenses are defenses of clay.
Hold your peace a little while, that I may speak whatsoever my mind shall suggest to me.Im đi, để mặc tôi! Tacete paulisper, ut loquar quodcumque mihi mens suggesserit.“Be silent! Leave me alone, that I may speak. Let come on me what will.
Why do I tear my flesh with my teeth, and carry my soul in my hands?Vì thế tôi sẽ liều mạng đến một mất một còn.ἀναλαβὼν τὰς σάρκας μου τοῖς ὀδοῦσιν, ψυχὴν δέ μου θήσω ἐν χειρί. Quare lacero carnes meas dentibus meis, et animam meam porto in manibus meis? Why should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?
Although he should bill me, I will trust in him: but yet I will reprove my ways in his sight. Etiam si occiderit me, in ipso sperabo: verumtamen vias meas in conspectu ejus arguam.Behold, he will kill me. I have no hope. Nevertheless, I will maintain my ways before him.
And he shall be my saviour: for no hypocrite shall come before his presence.Đó chính là điều sẽ cứu tôi,vì trước nhan Người, ác nhân sẽ không dám xuất đầu lộ diện.καὶ τοῦτό μοι ἀποβήσεται εἰς σωτηρίαν, οὐ γὰρ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ δόλος εἰσελεύσεται. This also will be my salvation, that a godless man will not come before him.
Hear ye my speech, and receive with Sour ears hidden truths. Audite sermonem meum, et ænigmata percipite auribus vestris.Listen carefully to my speech. Let my declaration be in your ears.
If I shall be judged, I know that I shall be found just.Này đây tôi sắp sửa trình bày vụ việc,tôi biết rõ rằng tôi công chính.ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐγγύς εἰμι τοῦ κρίματός μου, ⸂⸆⸃ οἶδα ἐγὼ ὅτι δίκαιος ἀναφανοῦμαι. Si fuero judicatus, scio quod justus inveniar.See now, I have set my cause in order. I know that I am righteous.
Who is he that will plead against me? let him come: why am I consumed holding my peace?Vậy nếu có ai cãi và thắng được tôi,tôi sẽ làm thinh ngay và chết tức thì.τίς γάρ ἐστιν ὁ κριθησόμενός μοι, ὅτι νῦν κωφεύσω καὶ ἐκλείψω;מִי ה֭וּא יָרִ֣יב עִמָּדִ֑י כִּֽי עַתָּ֖ה אַחֲרִ֣ישׁ וְאֶגְוָֽע Who is he who will contend with me? For then I would hold my peace and give up the spirit.
Two things only do not to me, and then from thy face I shall not be hid:Chỉ xin Chúa miễn cho con hai điều này thôi,và con sẽ không trốn để khỏi giáp mặt Ngài:δυεῖν δέ μοι χρήσῃ, τότε ἀπὸ τοῦ προσώπου σου οὐ κρυβήσομαι·אַךְ שְׁ֭תַּיִם אַל תַּ֣עַשׂ עִמָּדִ֑י אָ֥ז מִ֝פָּנֶ֗יךָ לֹ֣א אֶסָּתֵֽרDuo tantum ne facias mihi, et tunc a facie tua non abscondar:“Only don’t do two things to me, then I will not hide myself from your face:
Withdraw thy hand far from me, and let not thy dread terrify me.Xin đừng để tay Ngài đè nặng lên con,và đừng làm con kinh hoàng sợ hãi.τὴν χεῖρα ἀπ᾽ ἐμοῦ ἀπέχου, καὶ ὁ φόβος σου μή με καταπλησσέτω.כַּ֭פְּךָ מֵעָלַ֣י הַרְחַ֑ק וְ֝אֵ֥מָתְךָ֗ אַֽל תְּבַעֲתַֽנִּיmanum tuam longe fac a me, et formido tua non me terreat.withdraw your hand far from me, and don’t let your terror make me afraid.
Call me, and I will answer thee: or else I will speak, and do thou answer me.Bấy giờ Ngài gọi, con sẽ xin thưa,hoặc con có hỏi, Ngài sẽ trả lời.εἶτ᾽ ἂν καλέσεις, ἐγὼ δέ σοι ὑπακούσομαι· ἢ λαλήσεις, ἐγὼ δέ σοι δώσω ἀνταπόκρισιν. Then call, and I will answer, or let me speak, and you answer me.
How many are my iniquities and sins? make me know my crimes and offences.Con đã phạm bao nhiêu tội lỗi? Quantas habeo iniquitates et peccata? scelera mea et delicta ostende mihi. How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my disobedience and my sin.
Why hidest thou thy face, and thinkest me thy enemy? Cur faciem tuam abscondis, et arbitraris me inimicum tuum? Why do you hide your face, and consider me your enemy?
Against a leaf, that is carried away with the wind, thou shewest thy power, and thou pursuest a dry straw.Có phải điều Ngài muốn là làm run rẩy chiếc lá gió thổi bay,hay đuổi theo một cọng rơm khô héo?ἢ ὡς φύλλον κινούμενον ὑπὸ ἀνέμου εὐλαβηθήσῃ, ἢ ὡς χόρτῳ φερομένῳ ὑπὸ πνεύματος ἀντίκεισαί μοι;הֶעָלֶ֣ה נִדָּ֣ף תַּעֲר֑וֹץ וְאֶת קַ֖שׁ יָבֵ֣שׁ תִּרְדֹּֽףContra folium, quod vento rapitur, ostendis potentiam tuam, et stipulam siccam persequeris:Will you harass a driven leaf? Will you pursue the dry stubble?
For thou writest bitter things against me, and wilt consume me for the sins of my youth.Quả thật, nhằm chống lại con,Ngài đã viết những lời cay đắng,đã kể ra các tội con phạm lúc xuân xanh,ὅτι κατέγραψας κατ᾽ ἐμοῦ κακά, περιέθηκας δέ μοι νεότητος ἁμαρτίας·כִּֽי תִכְתֹּ֣ב עָלַ֣י מְרֹר֑וֹת וְ֝תוֹרִישֵׁ֗נִי עֲוֺנ֥וֹת נְעוּרָֽיscribis enim contra me amaritudines, et consumere me vis peccatis adolescentiæ meæ.For you write bitter things against me, and make me inherit the iniquities of my youth.
Thou hast put my feet in the stocks, and hast observed all my paths, and hast considered the steps of my feet:đã tra chân con vào cùm, theo dõi mọi đường nẻo con đi,và dò xét mọi dấu chân con bước.ἔθου δέ μου τὸν πόδα ἐν κωλύματι, ἐφύλαξας δέ μου πάντα τὰ ἔργα, εἰς δὲ ῥίζας τῶν ποδῶν μου ἀφίκου·וְתָ֘שֵׂ֤ם בַּסַּ֨ד רַגְלַ֗י וְתִשְׁמ֥וֹר כָּל אָרְחוֹתָ֑י עַל שָׁרְשֵׁ֥י רַ֝גְלַ֗י תִּתְחַקֶּֽהPosuisti in nervo pedem meum, et observasti omnes semitas meas, et vestigia pedum meorum considerasti:You also put my feet in the stocks, and mark all my paths.
