| 4 | He that is mocked by his friends as I, shall call upon God and he will hear him: for the simplicity of the just man is laughed to scorn. | Thế mà bạn hữu đã nhạo cười tôilà người đã từng khẩn cầu Thiên Chúa và được Người đáp lại.Than ôi, người công chính vẹn toànlại trở nên trò cười cho thiên hạ! | δίκαιος γὰρ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἄμεμπτος ἐγενήθη εἰς χλεύασμα· | שְׂחֹ֤ק לְרֵעֵ֨הוּ אֶֽהְיֶ֗ה קֹרֵ֣א לֶ֭אֱלוֹהַּ וַֽיַּעֲנֵ֑הוּ שְׂ֝ח֗וֹק צַדִּ֥יק תָּמִֽים | Qui deridetur ab amico suo, sicut ego, invocabit Deum, et exaudiet eum: deridetur enim justi simplicitas. | I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke. |
| 5 | The lamp despised in the thoughts of the rich, is ready for the time appointed. | “Người đã bất hạnh lại còn bị khinh chê!Kẻ đã trượt chân còn bị xô thêm nữa.”Những kẻ gặp may lành thường xử sự như thế. | εἰς χρόνον γὰρ τακτὸν ἡτοίμαστο πεσεῖν ὑπὸ ἄλλων, οἴκους τε αὐτοῦ ἐκπορθεῖσθαι ὑπὸ ἀνόμων. | לַפִּ֣יד בּ֭וּז לְעַשְׁתּ֣וּת שַׁאֲנָ֑ן נָ֝כ֗וֹן לְמ֣וֹעֲדֵי רָֽגֶל | Lampas contempta apud cogitationes divitum parata ad tempus statutum. | In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips. |
| 6 | The tabernacles of robbers abound, and they provoke God boldly; whereas it is he that hath given all into their hands: | Nhưng quân cướp lại sống bình an trong lều,những kẻ chọc giận Thiên Chúa được mọi bề yên ổn,và kẻ bắt Thiên Chúa phục vụ mình cũng thế! | οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ μηδεὶς πεποιθέτω πονηρὸς ὢν ἀθῷος ἔσεσθαι, ὅσοι παροργίζουσιν τὸν κύριον, ὡς οὐχὶ καὶ ἔτασις αὐτῶν ἔσται. | יִשְׁלָ֤יוּ אֹֽהָלִ֨ים לְשֹׁ֥דְדִ֗ים וּֽ֭בַטֻּחוֹת לְמַרְגִּ֣יזֵי אֵ֑ל לַאֲשֶׁ֤ר הֵבִ֖יא אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּיָדֽוֹ | Abundant tabernacula prædonum, et audacter provocant Deum, cum ipse dederit omnia in manus eorum. | The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their god in their hands. |
| 7 | But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee: and the birds of the air, and they shall tell thee. | Nhưng anh cứ hỏi súc vật, chúng sẽ chỉ giáo cho anh,cứ hỏi chim trời, chúng sẽ cho anh biết. | ἀλλὰ δὴ ἐρώτησον τετράποδα ἐάν σοι εἴπωσιν, πετεινὰ δὲ οὐρανοῦ ἐάν σοι ἀπαγγείλωσιν· | וְֽאוּלָ֗ם שְׁאַל נָ֣א בְהֵמ֣וֹת וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וְע֥וֹף הַ֝שָּׁמַ֗יִם וְיַגֶּד לָֽךְ | Nimirum interroga jumenta, et docebunt te; et volatilia cæli, et indicabunt tibi. | “But ask the animals now, and they will teach you; the birds of the sky, and they will tell you. |
| 8 | Speak to the earth, and it shall answer thee: and the fishes of the sea shall tell. | Thú rừng sẽ chỉ giáo cho anh hay,cá biển sẽ giải thích cho anh rõ. | ἐκδιήγησαι γῇ ἐάν σοι φράσῃ, καὶ ἐξηγήσονταί σοι οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης. | א֤וֹ שִׂ֣יחַ לָאָ֣רֶץ וְתֹרֶ֑ךָּ וִֽיסַפְּר֥וּ לְ֝ךָ֗ דְּגֵ֣י הַיָּֽם | Loquere terræ, et respondebit tibi, et narrabunt pisces maris. | Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you. The fish of the sea will declare to you. |
| 9 | Who is ignorant that the hand of the Lord hath made all these things? | Vì trong giống vật, có con nào lại không biếtrằng tay ĐỨC CHÚA đã làm nên những điều đó! | τίς οὖν οὐκ ἔγνω ἐν πᾶσι τούτοις ὅτι χεὶρ Κυρίου ἐποίησεν ταῦτα; | מִ֭י לֹא יָדַ֣ע בְּכָל אֵ֑לֶּה כִּ֥י יַד יְ֝הוָה עָ֣שְׂתָה זֹּֽאת | Quis ignorat quod omnia hæc manus Domini fecerit? | Who doesn’t know that in all these, the LORD’s hand has done this, |
| 10 | In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the spirit of all flesh of man. | Chính Người nắm trong tay hồn của mọi sinh vậtcũng như hơi thở của tất cả người phàm. | εἰ μὴ ἐν χειρὶ αὐτοῦ ψυχὴ πάντων ζώντων καὶ πνεῦμα παντὸς ἀνθρώπου; | אֲשֶׁ֣ר בְּ֭יָדוֹ נֶ֣פֶשׁ כָּל חָ֑י וְ֝ר֗וּחַ כָּל בְּשַׂר אִֽישׁ | In cujus manu anima omnis viventis, et spiritus universæ carnis hominis. | in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind? |
| 11 | Doth not the ear discern words, and the palate of him that eateth, the taste? | Lẽ nào tai không phân biệt được lời nói,và cổ họng không thưởng thức được món ăn? | νοῦς μὲν γὰρ ῥήματα διακρίνει, λάρυγξ δὲ σῖτα γεύεται. | הֲלֹא אֹ֭זֶן מִלִּ֣ין תִּבְחָ֑ן וְ֝חֵ֗ךְ אֹ֣כֶל יִטְעַם לֽוֹ | Nonne auris verba dijudicat? et fauces comedentis, saporem? | Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food? |
| 12 | In the ancient is wisdom, and in length of days prudence. | Người tóc bạc được trí khôn ngoan,bậc tuổi cao có tài thông hiểu. | ἐν πολλῷ χρόνῳ σοφία, ἐν δὲ πολλῷ βίῳ ἐπιστήμη. | בִּֽישִׁישִׁ֥ים חָכְמָ֑ה וְאֹ֖רֶךְ יָמִ֣ים תְּבוּנָֽה | In antiquis est sapientia, et in multo tempore prudentia. | With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding. |
| 13 | With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding. | Nhưng nơi Thiên Chúa có cả khôn ngoan lẫn sức mạnh,mưu lược cũng như tài thông hiểu đều thuộc về Người. | παρ᾽ αὐτῷ σοφία καὶ δύναμις, αὐτῷ βουλὴ καὶ σύνεσις. | עִ֭מּוֹ חָכְמָ֣ה וּגְבוּרָ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ עֵצָ֥ה וּתְבוּנָֽה | Apud ipsum est sapientia et fortitudo; ipse habet consilium et intelligentiam. | “With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding. |
| 14 | If he pull down, there is no man that can build up: if he shut up a. man, there is none that can open. | Người phá huỷ, chẳng ai xây lại được,Người giam cầm, không ai cứu thoát nổi. | ἐὰν καταβάλῃ, τίς οἰκοδομήσει; ἐὰν κλείσῃ κατὰ ἀνθρώπων, τίς ἀνοίξει; | הֵ֣ן יַ֭הֲרוֹס וְלֹ֣א יִבָּנֶ֑ה יִסְגֹּ֥ר עַל אִ֝֗ישׁ וְלֹ֣א יִפָּתֵֽחַ | Si destruxerit, nemo est qui ædificet; si incluserit hominem, nullus est qui aperiat. | Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release. |
| 15 | If he withhold the waters, all things shall be dried up: and if he send them out, they shall overturn the earth. | Người giữ nước lại, trời liền hạn hán,Người thả nước ra, đất bị tan hoang. | ἐὰν κωλύσῃ τὸ ὕδωρ, ξηρανεῖ τὴν γῆν· ἐὰν δὲ ἐπαφῇ, ἀπώλεσεν αὐτὴν καταστρέψας. | הֵ֤ן יַעְצֹ֣ר בַּמַּ֣יִם וְיִבָ֑שׁוּ וִֽ֝ישַׁלְּחֵ֗ם וְיַ֖הַפְכוּ אָֽרֶץ | Si continuerit aquas, omnia siccabuntur; et si emiserit eas, subvertent terram. | Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth. |
| 16 | With him is strength and wisdom: he knoweth both the deceiver, and him that is deceived. | Nơi Người có cả dũng lực lẫn tài trí,kẻ lầm lạc cũng như người gây ra lầm lạc đều ở trong tay Người. | παρ᾽ αὐτῷ κράτος καὶ ἰσχύς, αὐτῷ ἐπιστήμη καὶ σύνεσις. | עִ֭מּוֹ עֹ֣ז וְתֽוּשִׁיָּ֑ה ל֝֗וֹ שֹׁגֵ֥ג וּמַשְׁגֶּֽה | Apud ipsum est fortitudo et sapientia; ipse novit et decipientem, et eum qui decipitur. | With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his. |
| 17 | He bringeth counsellors to a foolish end, and judges to insensibility. | Người bắt các mưu sĩ phải đi chân đất,làm cho các thẩm phán ra điên rồ. | διάγων βουλευτὰς αἰχμαλώτους, κριτὰς δὲ γῆς ἐξέστησεν. | מוֹלִ֣יךְ יוֹעֲצִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְֽשֹׁפְטִ֥ים יְהוֹלֵֽל | Adducit consiliarios in stultum finem, et judices in stuporem. | He leads counselors away stripped. He makes judges fools. |
| 18 | He looseth the belt of kings, and girdeth their loins with a cord. | Người gỡ bỏ cân đai của vua chúavà bắt họ phải dùng khố thắt lưng. | καθιζάνων βασιλεῖς ἐπὶ θρόνους, καὶ περιέδησεν ζώνῃ ὀσφύας αὐτῶν. | מוּסַ֣ר מְלָכִ֣ים פִּתֵּ֑חַ וַיֶּאְסֹ֥ר אֵ֝ז֗וֹר בְּמָתְנֵיהֶֽם | Balteum regum dissolvit, et præcingit fune renes eorum. | He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt. |
| 19 | He leadeth away priests without glory, and overthroweth nobles. | Người bắt các tư tế phải đi chân đấtNgười lật đổ những kẻ quyền uy. | ἐξαποστέλλων ἱερεῖς αἰχμαλώτους, δυνάστας δὲ γῆς κατέστρεψεν. | מוֹלִ֣יךְ כֹּהֲנִ֣ים שׁוֹלָ֑ל וְאֵֽתָנִ֣ים יְסַלֵּֽף | Ducit sacerdotes inglorios, et optimates supplantat: | He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty. |
| 20 | He changeth the speech of the true speakers, and taketh away the doctrine of the aged. | Người làm cho nhà hùng biện mất cả tài ăn nói,cho bậc lão thành chẳng còn óc biện phân. | διαλλάσσων χείλη πιστῶν, σύνεσιν δὲ πρεσβυτέρων ἔγνω. | מֵסִ֣יר שָׂ֭פָה לְנֶאֱמָנִ֑ים וְטַ֖עַם זְקֵנִ֣ים יִקָּֽח | commutans labium veracium, et doctrinam senum auferens. | He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders. |
| 21 | He poureth contempt upon princes, and relieveth them that were oppressed. | Người đổ nhuốc nhơ xuống hàng quyền quý,và nới lỏng dây lưng cho quân bạo tàn. | ἐκχέων ἀτιμίαν ἐπ᾽ ἄρχοντας, ταπεινοὺς δὲ ἰάσατο. | שׁוֹפֵ֣ךְ בּ֭וּז עַל נְדִיבִ֑ים וּמְזִ֖יחַ אֲפִיקִ֣ים רִפָּֽה | Effundit despectionem super principes, eos qui oppressi fuerant relevans. | He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong. |
| 22 | He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth up to light the shadow of death. | Người vạch trần những tối tăm bí ẩn,phơi bày bóng tối tử thần ra ánh sáng. | ἀνακαλύπτων βαθέα ἐκ σκότους, ἐξήγαγεν δὲ εἰς φῶς σκιὰν θανάτου. | מְגַלֶּ֣ה עֲ֭מֻקוֹת מִנִּי חֹ֑שֶׁךְ וַיֹּצֵ֖א לָא֣וֹר צַלְמָֽוֶת | Qui revelat profunda de tenebris, et producit in lucem umbram mortis. | He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death. |
| 23 | He multiplieth nations, and destroyeth them, and restoreth them again after they were overthrown. | Người làm cho các dân lớn mạnh rồi tiêu diệt,để cho bành trướng rồi bắt phải lưu vong. | καταστρωννύων ἔθνη καὶ καθοδηγῶν αὐτά. | מַשְׂגִּ֣יא לַ֭גּוֹיִם וַֽיְאַבְּדֵ֑ם שֹׁטֵ֥חַ לַ֝גּוֹיִ֗ם וַיַּנְחֵֽם | Qui multiplicat gentes, et perdit eas, et subversas in integrum restituit. | He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive. |
| 24 | He changeth the heart of the princes of the people of the earth, and deceiveth them that they walk in vain where there is no way. | Người làm cho thủ lãnh của dân ra ngu muội,bắt phải lang thang trong sa mạc không lối thoát. | διαλλάσσων καρδίας ἀρχόντων γῆς, ἐπλάνησεν δὲ αὐτοὺς ἐν ὁδῷ ᾗ οὐκ ᾔδεισαν· | מֵסִ֗יר לֵ֭ב רָאשֵׁ֣י עַם הָאָ֑רֶץ וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא דָֽרֶךְ | Qui immutat cor principum populi terræ, et decipit eos ut frustra incedant per invium: | He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way. |
| 25 | They shall grope as in the dark, and not in the light, and he shall make them stagger like men that are drunk. | Chúng mò mẫm trong tăm tối mịt mù,lảo đảo như người thấm men say. | ψηλαφήσαισαν σκότος καὶ μὴ φῶς, πλανηθείησαν δὲ ὥσπερ ὁ μεθύων. | יְמַֽשְׁשׁוּ חֹ֥שֶׁךְ וְלֹא א֑וֹר וַ֝יַּתְעֵ֗ם כַּשִּׁכּֽוֹר | palpabunt quasi in tenebris, et non in luce, et errare eos faciet quasi ebrios.] | They grope in the dark without light. He makes them stagger like a drunken man. |
