| 3 | And Juda said to Simeon his brother: Come up with me into my lot, and fight against the Chanaanite, that I also may go along with thee into thy lot. Et abiit cum eo Simeon. | Judah said to Simeon his brother, “Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into your lot.” So Simeon went with him. |

They struck ten thousand men in Bezek. |

| 7 | And Adonibezec said: Seventy kings having their fingers and toes cut off, gathered up the leavings of the meat under my table: as I have done, so hath God requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there. | A-đô-ni Be-déc nói: “Bảy mươi vua bị chặt ngón tay cái và ngón chân cái, đã ăn mót dưới gầm bàn của tôi. Adduxeruntque eum in Jerusalem, et ibi mortuus est. | Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their big toes cut off, scavenged under my table. As I have done, so God has done to me.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there. |
| 8 | And the children of Juda besieging Jerusalem, took it, and put it to the sword, and set the whole city on fire. | Con cái Giu-đa đã tấn công Giê-ru-sa-lem, chiếm lấy thành, dùng gươm giết và nổi lửa đốt thành. | Καὶ ἐπολέμουν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰούδα τὴν Ἰερουσαλήμ, καὶ κατελάβοντο αὐτὴν καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτὴν ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας, καὶ τὴν πόλιν ἐνέπρησαν ἐν πυρί. | וַיִּלָּחֲמ֤וּ בְנֵֽי יְהוּדָה֙ בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם וַיִּלְכְּד֣וּ אוֹתָ֔הּ וַיַּכּ֖וּהָ לְפִי חָ֑רֶב וְאֶת הָעִ֖יר שִׁלְּח֥וּ בָאֵֽשׁ | Oppugnantes ergo filii Juda Jerusalem, ceperunt eam, et percusserunt in ore gladii, tradentes cunctam incendio civitatem. | The children of Judah fought against Jerusalem, took it, struck it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire. |
| 9 | And afterwards they went down and fought against the Chanaanite, who dwelt in the mountains, and in the south, and in the plains. | Sau đó con cái Giu-đa đã xuống tấn công người Ca-na-an bấy giờ đang ở trên núi, ở vùng Ne-ghép và vùng Sơ-phê-la. | καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα κατέβησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰούδα τοῦ πολεμῆσαι πρὸς τὸν Χαναναῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα τὴν ὀρεινὴν καὶ τὸν νότον καὶ τὴν πεδινήν. | וְאַחַ֗ר יָֽרְדוּ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם בַּֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑י יוֹשֵׁ֣ב הָהָ֔ר וְהַנֶּ֖גֶב וְהַשְּׁפֵלָֽה | Et postea descendentes pugnaverunt contra Chananæum, qui habitabat in montanis, et ad meridiem, et in campestribus. | After that, the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites who lived in the hill country, and in the South, and in the lowland. |
| 10 | And Juda going forward against the Chanaanite, that dwelt in Hebron (the name whereof was in former times Cariath-Arbe) slew Sesai, and Ahiman, and Tholmai: | Giu-đa cũng tiến đánh quân Ca-na-an bấy giờ đang ở Khép-rôn, –tên của Khép-rôn trước kia là Kia-giát Ác-ba– và họ đã đánh bại Sê-sai, A-khi-man và Tan-mai. | καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ἰούδας πρὸς τὸν Χαναναῖον τὸν κατοικοῦντα ἐν Χεβρών, καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Χεβρὼν ἐξ ἐναντίας· καὶ τὸ ὄνομα ἦν Χεβρὼν τὸ πρότερον Καριαρβοξέφερ· καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὸν Σεσσεὶ καὶ Ἀχιναὰν καὶ Θολμείν, γεννήματα τοῦ Ἐνάκ. | וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֗ה אֶל הַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙ הַיּוֹשֵׁ֣ב בְּחֶבְר֔וֹן וְשֵׁם חֶבְר֥וֹן לְפָנִ֖ים קִרְיַ֣ת אַרְבַּ֑ע וַיַּכּ֛וּ אֶת שֵׁשַׁ֥י וְאֶת אֲחִימַ֖ן וְאֶת תַּלְמָֽי | Pergensque Judas contra Chananæum, qui habitabat in Hebron (cujus nomen fuit antiquitus Cariath Arbe), percussit Sesai, et Ahiman, et Tholmai: | Judah went against the Canaanites who lived in Hebron. (The name of Hebron before that was Kiriath Arba.) They struck Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai. |
| 11 | And departing from thence he went to the inhabitants of Dabir, the ancient name of which was Cariath-Sepher, that is, the city of letters. | Từ đấy họ tiến đánh dân cư thành Đơ-via – tên của Đơ-via trước kia là Kia-giát Xê-phe. | καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐκεῖθεν πρὸς τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Δαβείρ· τὸ δὲ ὄνομα τῆς Δαβεὶρ ἦν ἔμπροσθεν Καριασσῶφαρ, πόλις γραμμάτων. | וַיֵּ֣לֶךְ מִשָּׁ֔ם אֶל יוֹשְׁבֵ֖י דְּבִ֑יר וְשֵׁם דְּבִ֥יר לְפָנִ֖ים קִרְיַת סֵֽפֶר | atque inde profectus abiit ad habitatores Dabir, cujus nomen vetus erat Cariath Sepher, id est, civitas litterarum. | From there he went against the inhabitants of Debir. (The name of Debir before that was Kiriath Sepher.) |
| 12 | And Caleb said: He that shall take Cariath-Sepher, and lay it waste, to him will I give my daughter Axa to wife. | Ông Ca-lếp nói: “Ai đánh và chiếm được Kia-giát Xê-phe, tôi sẽ gả Ác-xa con gái tôi cho người ấy.” | καὶ εἶπεν Χαλέβ Ὃς ἐὰν πατάξῃ τὴν πόλιν τῶν γραμμάτων καὶ προκαταλάβηται αὐτήν, δώσω αὐτῷ τὴν Ἀζὰ θυγατέρα μου εἰς γυναῖκα. | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר כָּלֵ֔ב אֲשֶׁר יַכֶּ֥ה אֶת קִרְיַת סֵ֖פֶר וּלְכָדָ֑הּ וְנָתַ֥תִּי ל֛וֹ אֶת עַכְסָ֥ה בִתִּ֖י לְאִשָּֽׁה | Dixitque Caleb: Qui percusserit Cariath Sepher, et vastaverit eam, dabo ei Axam filiam meam uxorem. | Caleb said, “I will give Achsah my daughter as wife to the man who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it.” |
| 13 | And Othoniel the son of Cenez, the younger brother of Caleb, having taken it, he gave him Axa his daughter to wife. | Ót-ni-ên con ông Cơ-nát, em ông Ca-lếp, đã chiếm được thành; và ông Ca-lếp đã gả Ác-xa con gái mình cho Ót-ni-ên. | καὶ προκατελάβετο αὐτὴν Γοθονιὴλ υἱὸς Κενὲζ ἀδελφοῦ Χαλὲβ ὁ νεώτερος· καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ Χαλὲβ τὴν Ἀζὰ θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ εἰς γυναῖκα. | וַֽיִּלְכְּדָהּ֙ עָתְנִיאֵ֣ל בֶּן קְנַ֔ז אֲחִ֥י כָלֵ֖ב הַקָּטֹ֣ן מִמֶּ֑נּוּ וַיִּתֶּן ל֛וֹ אֶת עַכְסָ֥ה בִתּ֖וֹ לְאִשָּֽׁה | Cumque cepisset eam Othoniel filius Cenez frater Caleb minor, dedit ei Axam filiam suam conjugem. | Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it, so he gave him Achsah his daughter as his wife. |
| 14 | And as she was going on her way her husband admonished her to ask a field of her father. And as she sighed sitting on her ass, Caleb said to her: What aileth thee? | Khi cô ta đến, Ót-ni-ên liền xúi cô xin cha một thửa ruộng. Cô xuống lừa, và ông Ca-lếp hỏi cô: “Chuyện gì thế con?” | καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῇ εἰσόδῳ αὐτῆς καὶ ἐπέσεισεν αὐτὴν Γοθονιὴλ τοῦ αἰτῆσαι παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῆς ἀγρόν· καὶ ἐγόγγυζεν καὶ ἔκραξεν ἀπὸ τοῦ ὑποζυγίου Εῖς γῆν νότου ἐκδέδοσαί με. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Χαλέβ Τί ἐστίν σοι; | וַיְהִ֣י בְּבוֹאָ֗הּ וַתְּסִיתֵ֨הוּ֙ לִשְׁא֤וֹל מֵֽאֵת אָבִ֨יהָ֙ הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה וַתִּצְנַ֖ח מֵעַ֣ל הַחֲמ֑וֹר וַיֹּֽאמֶר לָ֥הּ כָּלֵ֖ב מַה לָּֽךְ | Quam pergentem in itinere monuit vir suus ut peteret a patre suo agrum. Quæ cum suspirasset sedens in asino, dixit ei Caleb: Quid habes? | When she came, she got him to ask her father for a field. She got off her donkey; and Caleb said to her, “What would you like?” |
| 15 | But she answered: Give me a blessing, for thou hast given me a dry land: give me also a watery land. Dedit ergo ei Caleb irriguum superius, et irriguum inferius. | She said to him, “Give me a blessing; because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” Then Caleb gave her the upper springs and the lower springs. |
| 16 | And the children of the Cinite, the kinsman of Moses, went up from the city of palms, with the children of Juda into the wilderness of his lot, which is at the south side of Arad, and they dwelt with him. | Con cái ông Kê-ni, nhạc phụ ông Mô-sê, đã từ Thành Chà Là cùng với con cái Giu-đa đi lên sa mạc Giu-đa, trong vùng Ne-ghép A-rát. Họ đã đi và đến ở với dân ấy. | Καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰοθὸρ τοῦ Κειναίου τοῦ γαμβροῦ Μωυσέως ἀνέβησαν ἐκ πόλεως τῶν φοινίκων μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν Ἰούδα εἰς τὴν ἔρημον τὴν οὖσαν ἐν τῷ νότῳ Ἰούδα, ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ καταβάσεως Ἀράδ. κατῴκησαν μετὰ τοῦ λαοῦ. | וּבְנֵ֣י קֵינִי֩ חֹתֵ֨ן מֹשֶׁ֜ה עָל֨וּ מֵעִ֤יר הַתְּמָרִים֙ אֶת בְּנֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה מִדְבַּ֣ר יְהוּדָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֖ר בְּנֶ֣גֶב עֲרָ֑ד וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב אֶת הָעָֽם | Filii autem Cinæi cognati Moysi ascenderunt de civitate palmarum cum filiis Juda, in desertum sortis ejus, quod est ad meridiem Arad, et habitaverunt cum eo. | The children of the Kenite, Moses’ brother-in-law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which is in the south of Arad; and they went and lived with the people. |
| 17 | And Juda went with Simeon his brother, and they together defeated the Chanaanites that dwelt in Sephaath, and slew them. And the name of the city was called Horma, that is, Anathema. | Giu-đa đã đi với Si-mê-ôn anh mình. Họ tấn công quân Ca-na-an bấy giờ đang ở Xơ-phát và đã tru diệt chúng. | 35 | And he dwelt in the mountain Hares, that is, of potsherds, in Aialon and Salebim.
