| 2 | Moses my servant is dead: arise, and pass over this Jordan, thou and thy people with thee, into the land which I will give to the children of Israel. | “Mô-sê, tôi trung của Ta, đã chết. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel. |
| 3 | I will deliver to you every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, as I have said to Moses. | Mọi nơi bàn chân các ngươi dẫm lên thì Ta đã ban cho các ngươi rồi, như Ta đã phán với Mô-sê. | πᾶς ὁ τόπος ἐφ᾽ ὃν ἂν ἐπιβῆτε τῷ ἴχνει τῶν ποδῶν ὑμῶν, ὑμῖν δώσω αὐτόν, ὃν τρόπον εἴρηκα τῷ Μωυσῇ· | כָּל מָק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּדְרֹ֧ךְ כַּֽף רַגְלְכֶ֛ם בּ֖וֹ לָכֶ֣ם נְתַתִּ֑יו כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי אֶל מֹשֶֽׁה | Omnem locum, quem calcaverit vestigium pedis vestri, vobis tradam, sicut locutus sum Moysi. | I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses. |
| 4 | From the desert and from Libanus unto the great river Euphrates, all the land of the Hethites unto the great sea toward the going; down of the sun, shall be your border. | Từ sa mạc và dãy Li-băng kia cho đến Sông Cả, nghĩa là sông Êu-phơ-rát, –tất cả xứ người Khết–, và cho đến Biển Lớn, phía mặt trời lặn: đó sẽ là lãnh thổ của các ngươi. | τὴν ἔρημον καὶ τὸν Ἀντιλίβανον ἕως τοῦ ποταμοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου, ποταμοῦ Εὐφράτου, καὶ ἕως τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς ἐσχάτης· ἀφ᾽ ἡλίου δυσμῶν ἔσται τὰ ὅρια ὑμῶν. | מֵהַמִּדְבָּר֩ וְהַלְּבָנ֨וֹן הַזֶּ֜ה וְֽעַד הַנָּהָ֧ר הַגָּד֣וֹל נְהַר פְּרָ֗ת כֹּ֚ל אֶ֣רֶץ הַֽחִתִּ֔ים וְעַד הַיָּ֥ם הַגָּד֖וֹל מְב֣וֹא הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ יִֽהְיֶ֖ה גְּבוּלְכֶֽם | A deserto et Libano usque ad fluvium magnum Euphraten, omnis terra Hethæorum usque ad mare magnum contra solis occasum erit terminus vester. | From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border. |
| 5 | No man shall be able to resist you all the days of thy life: as I have been with Moses, so will I be with thee: I will not leave thee, nor forsake thee. | Mọi ngày đời ngươi, không ai sẽ đứng vững được trước mặt ngươi. Ta sẽ ở với ngươi như Ta đã ở với Mô-sê; Ta sẽ không bỏ rơi ngươi, Ta sẽ không ruồng bỏ ngươi. | οὐκ ἀντιστήσεται ἄνθρωπος κατενώπιον ὑμῶν πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς σου· καὶ ὥσπερ ἤμην μετὰ Μωυσῆ, οὕτως ἔσομαι καὶ μετὰ σοῦ, καὶ οὐκ ἐνκαταλείψω σε οὐδὲ ὑπερόψομαί σε. | לֹֽא יִתְיַצֵּ֥ב אִישׁ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֣י חַיֶּ֑יךָ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיִ֤יתִי עִם מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א אַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֥א אֶעֶזְבֶֽךָּ | Nullus poterit vobis resistere cunctis diebus vitæ tuæ: sicut fui cum Moyse, ita ero tecum: non dimittam, nec derelinquam te. | No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you. |
| 6 | Take courage, and be strong: for thou shalt divide by lot to this people the land, for which I swore to their fathers, that I would deliver it to them. | “Mạnh bạo lên, can đảm lên! Vì chính ngươi sẽ cho dân này chiếm đất ấy làm gia nghiệp, đất mà Ta đã thề với cha ông chúng là Ta sẽ ban cho chúng. | ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου· σὺ γὰρ διελεῖς τῷ λαῷ τούτῳ τὴν γῆν ἣν ὤμοσα τοῖς πατράσιν ὑμῶν δοῦναι αὐτοῖς. | חֲזַ֖ק וֶאֱמָ֑ץ כִּ֣י אַתָּ֗ה תַּנְחִיל֙ אֶת הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֶת הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתִּי לַאֲבוֹתָ֖ם לָתֵ֥ת לָהֶֽם | Confortare, et esto robustus: tu enim sorte divides populo huic terram, pro qua juravi patribus suis, ut traderem eam illis. | “Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. |
| 7 | Take courage therefore, and be very valiant: that thou mayst observe and do all the law, which Moses my servant hath commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayst understand all things which thou dost. | Tuy nhiên, ngươi phải mạnh bạo và rất can đảm, để lo thi hành tất cả Lề Luật, mà Mô-sê tôi trung của Ta đã truyền dạy ngươi. Đừng đi trệch bên phải bên trái, ngoài Lề Luật, để được thành công ở bất cứ nơi nào ngươi đi tới. | ἴσχυε οὖν καὶ ἀνδρίζου φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ ποιεῖν καθότι ἐνετείλατό σοι Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς μου, καὶ οὐκ ἐκκλινεῖς ἀπ᾽ αὐτῶν εἰς δεξιὰ οὐδὲ εἰς ἀριστερά, ἵνα συνῇς ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ἐὰν πράσσῃς. | רַק֩ חֲזַ֨ק וֶֽאֱמַ֜ץ מְאֹ֗ד לִשְׁמֹ֤ר לַעֲשׂוֹת֙ כְּכָל הַתּוֹרָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר צִוְּךָ֙ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַבְדִּ֔י אַל תָּס֥וּר מִמֶּ֖נּוּ יָמִ֣ין וּשְׂמֹ֑אול לְמַ֣עַן תַּשְׂכִּ֔יל בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּלֵֽךְ | Confortare igitur, et esto robustus valde, ut custodias, et facias omnem legem, quam præcepit tibi Moyses servus meus: ne declines ab ea ad dexteram vel ad sinistram, ut intelligas cuncta quæ agis. | Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. |
| 8 | Let not the book of this law depart from thy mouth: but thou shalt meditate on it day and night, that thou mayst observe and do all things that are written in it: then shalt thou direct thy way, and understand it. | Chớ gì sách Luật này đừng rời khỏi miệng ngươi; và ngươi sẽ suy gẫm sách Luật đó ngày đêm, để lo thi hành tất cả những gì viết trong đó; vì như thế ngươi sẽ được thịnh đạt trên đường đời, vì như thế ngươi sẽ thành công. | καὶ οὐκ ἀποστήσεται ἡ βίβλος τοῦ νόμου τούτου ἐκ τοῦ στόματός σου, καὶ μελετήσεις ἐν αὐτῇ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός, ἵνα εἰδῇς ποιεῖν πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα· τότε εὐοδωθήσῃ καὶ εὐοδώσει τὰς ὁδούς σου, καὶ τότε συνήσεις. | לֹֽא יָמ֡וּשׁ סֵפֶר֩ הַתּוֹרָ֨ה הַזֶּ֜ה מִפִּ֗יךָ וְהָגִ֤יתָ בּוֹ֙ יוֹמָ֣ם וָלַ֔יְלָה לְמַ֨עַן֙ תִּשְׁמֹ֣ר לַעֲשׂ֔וֹת כְּכָל הַכָּת֖וּב בּ֑וֹ כִּי אָ֛ז תַּצְלִ֥יחַ אֶת דְּרָכֶ֖ךָ וְאָ֥ז תַּשְׂכִּֽיל | Non recedat volumen legis hujus ab ore tuo: sed meditaberis in eo diebus ac noctibus, ut custodias et facias omnia quæ scripta sunt in eo: tunc diriges viam tuam, et intelliges eam. | This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. |
| 9 | Behold I command thee, take courage, and be strong. Fear not and be not dismayed: because the Lord thy God is with thee in all things whatsoever thou shalt go to. | Mạnh bạo lên, can đảm lên! Đó chẳng phải là lệnh Ta đã truyền cho ngươi sao? Đừng run khiếp, đừng sợ hãi, vì ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của ngươi, sẽ ở với ngươi bất cứ nơi nào ngươi đi tới.” | ἰδοὺ ἐντέταλμαί σοι· ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου, μὴ δειλιάσῃς μηδὲ φοβηθῇς, ὅτι μετὰ σοῦ Κύριος ὁ θεός σου εἰς πάντα οὗ ἐὰν πορεύῃ. | הֲל֤וֹא צִוִּיתִ֨יךָ֙ חֲזַ֣ק וֶאֱמָ֔ץ אַֽל תַּעֲרֹ֖ץ וְאַל תֵּחָ֑ת כִּ֤י עִמְּךָ֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר תֵּלֵֽךְ | Ecce præcipio tibi: confortare, et esto robustus. Noli metuere, et noli timere: quoniam tecum est Dominus Deus tuus in omnibus ad quæcumque perrexeris. | Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” |
| 10 | And Josue commanded the princes of the people, saying: Pass through the midst of the camp, and command the people, and say: | Ông Giô-suê truyền lệnh sau đây cho các ký lục trong dân: | Καὶ ἐνετείλατο Ἰησοῦς τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν τοῦ λαοῦ λέγων | וַיְצַ֣ו יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ אֶת שֹׁטְרֵ֥י הָעָ֖ם לֵאמֹֽר | Præcepitque Josue principibus populi, dicens: Transite per medium castrorum, et imperate populo, ac dicite: | Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, |
| 11 | Prepare you victuals: for after the third day you shall pass over the Jordan and shall go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God will give you. | “Các anh hãy rảo khắp trại và truyền cho dân: Hãy chuẩn bị lương thực, vì còn ba ngày nữa anh em sẽ qua sông Gio-đan kia để vào chiếm đất mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh em, cho anh em chiếm hữu.” | Εἰσέλθατε κατὰ μέσον τῆς παρεμβολῆς τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ ἐντείλασθε τῷ λαῷ λέγοντες Ἑτοιμάζεσθε ἐπισιτισμόν, ὅτι ἔτι τρεῖς ἡμέραι καὶ ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ἰορδάνην τοῦτον, εἰσελθόντες κατασχεῖν τὴν γῆν ἣν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων ὑμῶν δίδωσιν ὑμῖν. | עִבְר֣וּ בְּקֶ֣רֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֗ה וְצַוּ֤וּ אֶת הָעָם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר הָכִ֥ינוּ לָכֶ֖ם צֵידָ֑ה כִּ֞י בְּע֣וֹד שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֗ים אַתֶּם֙ עֹֽבְרִים֙ אֶת הַיַּרְדֵּ֣ן הַזֶּ֔ה לָבוֹא֙ לָרֶ֣שֶׁת אֶת הָאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁר֙ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶ֖ם לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ | Præparate vobis cibaria: quoniam post diem tertium transibitis Jordanem, et intrabitis ad possidendam terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est vobis. | “Pass through the middle of the camp, and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare food; for within three days you are to pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God gives you to possess.’” |

| 13 | Remember the word, which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying: The Lord your God hath given you rest, and all this land. | “Anh em hãy nhớ điều ông Mô-sê, tôi trung của ĐỨC CHÚA, đã truyền cho anh em: ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh em, cho anh em được an cư lạc nghiệp khi ban cho anh em đất này. | Μνήσθητε τὸ ῥῆμα ὃ ἐνετείλατο ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς ὁ παῖς Κυρίου λέγων Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν κατέπαυσεν ὑμᾶς καὶ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην. | זָכוֹר֙ אֶת הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֥ה אֶתְכֶ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֥ה עֶֽבֶד יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹ֑ר יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם֙ מֵנִ֣יחַ לָכֶ֔ם וְנָתַ֥ן לָכֶ֖ם אֶת הָאָ֥רֶץ הַזֹּֽאת | Mementote sermonis, quem præcepit vobis Moyses famulus Domini, dicens: Dominus Deus vester dedit vobis requiem, et omnem terram. | “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God gives you rest, and will give you this land. |
| 14 | Your wives, and children, and cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan: but pass you over armed before your brethren, all of you that are strong of hand, and fight for them, | Đàn bà, con trẻ và các đàn vật của anh em sẽ ở lại trong phần đất ông Mô-sê đã ban cho anh em bên kia sông Gio-đan; còn anh em, tất cả các dũng sĩ, hãy vũ trang đầy đủ mà qua trước anh em mình và trợ lực cho họ, | αἱ γυναῖκες ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ παιδία ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν κατοικείτωσαν ἐν τῇ γῇ ᾗ ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν· ὑμεῖς δὲ διαβήσεσθε εὔζωνοι πρότεροι τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν, πᾶς ὁ ἰσχύων, καὶ συμμαχήσετε αὐτοῖς | נְשֵׁיכֶ֣ם טַפְּכֶם֮ וּמִקְנֵיכֶם֒ יֵשְׁב֕וּ בָּאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֥ן לָכֶ֛ם מֹשֶׁ֖ה בְּעֵ֣בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְאַתֶּם֩ תַּעַבְר֨וּ חֲמֻשִׁ֜ים לִפְנֵ֣י אֲחֵיכֶ֗ם כֹּ֚ל גִּבּוֹרֵ֣י הַחַ֔יִל וַעֲזַרְתֶּ֖ם אוֹתָֽם | Uxores vestræ, et filii, ac jumenta manebunt in terra, quam tradidit vobis Moyses trans Jordanem: vos autem transite armati ante fratres vestros, omnes fortes manu, et pugnate pro eis, | Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall live in the land which Moses gave you beyond the Jordan; but you shall pass over before your brothers armed, all the mighty men of valor, and shall help them |
| 15 | Until the Lord give rest to your brethren as he hath given you, and they also possess the land which the Lord your God will give them: and so you shall return into the land of your possession, and you shall dwell in it, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave you beyond the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun. | cho đến khi ĐỨC CHÚA ban cho anh em cũng như anh em của anh em được an cư lạc nghiệp, cho đến khi chính họ cũng chiếm hữu phần đất mà ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của anh em, ban cho họ. Bấy giờ anh em sẽ trở về phần đất mà anh em đã chiếm hữu. Anh em sẽ chiếm hữu phần đất mà ông Mô-sê, tôi trung của ĐỨC CHÚA, đã ban cho anh em bên kia sông Gio-đan, phía mặt trời mọc.” | ἕως ἂν καταπαύσῃ Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς, καὶ κληρονομήσωσιν καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν ἣν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς· καὶ ἀπελεύσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ, ἣν δέδωκεν ὑμῖν Μωυσῆς εἰς τὸ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ἐπ᾽ ἀνατολῶν ἡλίου. | עַ֠ד אֲשֶׁר יָנִ֨יחַ יְהוָ֥ה לַֽאֲחֵיכֶם֮ כָּכֶם֒ וְיָרְשׁ֣וּ גַם הֵ֔מָּה אֶת הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם נֹתֵ֣ן לָהֶ֑ם וְשַׁבְתֶּ֞ם לְאֶ֤רֶץ יְרֻשַּׁתְכֶם֙ וִֽירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם אוֹתָ֔הּ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָתַ֣ן לָכֶ֗ם מֹשֶׁה֙ עֶ֣בֶד יְהוָ֔ה בְּעֵ֥בֶר הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן מִזְרַ֥ח הַשָּֽׁמֶשׁ | donec det Dominus requiem fratribus vestris sicut et vobis dedit, et possideant ipsi quoque terram quam Dominus Deus vester daturus est eis: et sic revertimini in terram possessionis vestræ, et habitabitis in ea, quam vobis dedit Moyses famulus Domini trans Jordanem contra solis ortum. | until the LORD has given your brothers rest, as he has given you, and they have also possessed the land which the LORD your God gives them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.’” |

Chỉ cầu mong ĐỨC CHÚA, Thiên Chúa của ngài, ở với ngài, như đã ở với ông Mô-sê! | κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἠκούσαμεν Μωυσῆ ἀκουσόμεθα σοῦ· πλὴν ἔστω Κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν μετὰ σοῦ ὃν τρόπον ἦν μετὰ Μωυσῆ. | כְּכֹ֤ל אֲשֶׁר שָׁמַ֨עְנוּ֙ אֶל מֹשֶׁ֔ה כֵּ֖ן נִשְׁמַ֣ע אֵלֶ֑יךָ רַ֠ק יִֽהְיֶ֞ה יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ עִמָּ֔ךְ כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם מֹשֶֽׁה | Sicut obedivimus in cunctis Moysi, ita obediemus et tibi: tantum sit Dominus Deus tuus tecum, sicut fuit cum Moyse. | Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you. | 18 | He that shall gainsay thy mouth, and not obey all thy words, that thou shalt command him, let him die: only take thou courage, and do manfully. | Kẻ nào chống lại mệnh lệnh của ngài, không nghe bất cứ lời nào ngài truyền dạy, thì sẽ phải bị xử tử. Chỉ có điều là ngài phải mạnh bạo và can đảm!” | ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος ὃς ἐὰν ἀπειθήσῃ σοι, καὶ ὅστις μὴ ἀκούσῃ τῶν ῥημάτων σου καθότι ἂν αὐτῷ ἐντείλῃ, ἀποθανέτω. ἀλλὰ ἴσχυε καὶ ἀνδρίζου. | כָּל אִ֞ישׁ אֲשֶׁר יַמְרֶ֣ה אֶת פִּ֗יךָ וְלֹֽא יִשְׁמַ֧ע אֶת דְּבָרֶ֛יךָ לְכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר תְּצַוֶּ֖נּוּ יוּמָ֑ת רַ֖ק חֲזַ֥ק וֶאֱמָֽץ | Qui contradixerit ori tuo, et non obedierit cunctis sermonibus, quos præceperis ei, moriatur. Tu tantum confortare, et viriliter age. | Whoever rebels against your commandment, and doesn’t listen to your words in all that you command him shall himself be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.” |
