And Ochozias fell through the lattices of his upper chamber which he had in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, saying to them: Go, consult Beelzebub, the god of Accaron, whether I shall recover of this my illness.Vua A-khát-gia ngã xuống từ lan can phòng trên của lầu vua ở Sa-ma-ri, nên bị đau ốm. Vua sai sứ giả đi và bảo họ: “Các ngươi hãy đi thỉnh ý Ba-an Dơ-vúp, thần của Éc-rôn, để xem ta có thể qua khỏi cơn bệnh này không?”καὶ ἔπεσεν Ὀχοζείας διὰ τοῦ δικτυωτοῦ τοῦ ἐν τῷ ὑπερῴῳ αὐτοῦ τῷ ἐν Σαμαρείᾳ, καὶ ἠρρώστησεν· καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἀγγέλους καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Δεῦτε καὶ ἐπιζητήσατε ἐν τῷ Βάαλ μυῖαν θεὸν Ἀκκαρών, εἰ ζήσομαι ἐκ τῆς ἀρρωστίας μου ταύτης· καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐπερωτῆσαι δι᾽ αὐτοῦ.וַיִּפֹּ֨ל אֲחַזְיָ֜ה בְּעַ֣ד הַשְּׂבָכָ֗ה בַּעֲלִיָּת֛וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר בְּשֹׁמְר֖וֹן וַיָּ֑חַל וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח מַלְאָכִ֔ים וַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ לְכ֣וּ דִרְשׁ֗וּ בְּבַ֤עַל זְבוּב֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י עֶקְר֔וֹן אִם אֶחְיֶ֖ה מֵחֳלִ֥י זֶֽהCeciditque Ochozias per cancellos cœnaculi sui, quod habebat in Samaria, et ægrotavit: misitque nuntios, dicens ad eos: Ite, consulite Beelzebub deum Accaron, utrum vivere queam de infirmitate mea hac.Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover from this sickness.”
And an angel of the Lord spoke to Elias the Thesbite, saying: Arise, and go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say to them: Is there not a God in Israel, that ye go to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron?Nhưng sứ giả của ĐỨC CHÚA nói với ông Ê-li-a người Tít-be: “Hãy trỗi dậy, lên gặp các sứ giả của vua Sa-ma-ri, và bảo họ: Ở Ít-ra-en không có Thiên Chúa hay sao, mà các anh lại đi thỉnh ý Ba-an Dơ-vúp, thần của Éc-rôn?καὶ ἄγγελος Κυρίου ἐκάλεσεν Ἠλειοὺ τὸν Θεσβείτην λέγων Ἀναστὰς δεῦρο εἰς συνάντησιν τῶν ἀγγέλων Ὀχοζείου βασιλέως Σαμαρείας καὶ λαλήσεις πρὸς αὐτούς Εἰ παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι θεὸν ἐν Ἰσραὴλ ὑμεῖς πορεύεσθε ἐπιζητῆσαι ἐν τῷ Βάαλ μυῖαν θεὸν Ἀκκαρών; καὶ οὐχ οὕτως·וּמַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהוָ֗ה דִּבֶּר֙ אֶל אֵלִיָּ֣ה הַתִּשְׁבִּ֔י ק֣וּם עֲלֵ֔ה לִקְרַ֖את מַלְאֲכֵ֣י מֶֽלֶךְ שֹׁמְר֑וֹן וְדַבֵּ֣ר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אַתֶּם֙ הֹֽלְכִ֔ים לִדְרֹ֕שׁ בְּבַ֥עַל זְב֖וּב אֱלֹהֵ֥י עֶקְרֽוֹןAngelus autem Domini locutus est ad Eliam Thesbiten, dicens: Surge, et ascende in occursum nuntiorum regis Samariæ, et dices ad eos: Numquid non est Deus in Israël, ut eatis ad consulendum Beelzebub deum Accaron? But the LORD’s angel said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?
Wherefore thus saith the Lord: From the bed, on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die. 5And the messengers turned back to Ochozias. And he said to them: Why are you come back?Các sứ giả trở về với vua. Reversique sunt nuntii ad Ochoziam. 6But they answered him: A man met us, and said to us: Go, and return to the king, that sent you, and you shall say to him: Thus saith the Lord: Is it because there was no God in Israel that thou sendest to Beelzebub the god of Accaron? Therefore thou shalt not come down from the bed, on which thou art gone up, but then shalt surely die.Họ đáp: “Một người đã lên gặp chúng tôi và nói với chúng tôi: Hãy đi về với ông vua đã sai các anh đi và thưa với vua: ĐỨC CHÚA phán thế này: Ở Ít-ra-en không có Thiên Chúa hay sao, mà ngươi lại sai sứ giả đi thỉnh ý Ba-an Dơ-vúp, thần của Éc-rôn? 9And he sent to him a captain of fifty, and the fifty men that were under him. And he went up to him, and as he was sitting on the top of a hill, said to him: Man of God, the king hath commanded that thou come down. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’”
And Elias answering, said to the captain of fifty: If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee, and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him, and the fifty that were with him.Ông Ê-li-a trả lời sĩ quan chỉ huy năm mươi quân: “Nếu ta là người của Thiên Chúa, thì chớ gì một ngọn lửa từ trời xuống thiêu đốt ngươi và năm mươi quân của ngươi!” And he said to him: Man of God, thus saith the king: Make haste and come down.Vua lại sai một sĩ quan khác chỉ huy năm mươi quân đem năm mươi quân của mình đến với ông Ê-li-a. 13Again he sent a third captain of fifty men, and the fifty that were with him. And when he was come, he fell upon his knees, before Elias, and besought him and said: Man of God, despise not my life, and the lives of thy servants that are with me.Vua lại sai viên sĩ quan thứ ba chỉ huy năm mươi quân đem theo năm mươi quân của mình. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, “Man of God, please let my life and the life of these fifty of your servants be precious in your sight.
Behold fire came down from heaven, and consumed the two first captains of fifty men, and the fifties that were with them: but now I beseech thee to spare my life.Một ngọn lửa đã từ trời xuống thiêu đốt hai sĩ quan trước, mỗi người cùng với năm mươi quân của họ. But now let my life be precious in your sight.”
And the angel of the Lord spoke to Elias, saying: Go down with him, fear not. He arose therefore, and went down with him to the king,Sứ giả của ĐỨC CHÚA nói với ông Ê-li-a: “Hãy xuống với người này, đừng sợ gì nó!” Surrexit igitur, et descendit cum eo ad regem,The LORD’s angel said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Don’t be afraid of him.” Then he arose and went down with him to the king.
And said to him: Thus saith the Lord: Because thou hast sent messengers to consult Beelzebub the god of Accaron, as though there were not a God in Israel, of whom thou mightest inquire the word; therefore from the bed on which thou art gone up, thou shalt not come down, but thou shalt surely die.Ông Ê-li-a nói với vua: “ĐỨC CHÚA phán thế này: Vì ngươi đã sai sứ giả đi thỉnh ý Ba-an Dơ-vúp, thần của Éc-rôn, –ở Ít-ra-en không có Thiên Chúa hay sao, mà lại đi thỉnh lời sấm của nó?–, nên ngươi sẽ không xuống khỏi giường mà ngươi đã lên nằm, vì thế nào ngươi cũng chết!”καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν Ἠλειού Τάδε λέγει Κύριος Τί ὅτι ἀπέστειλας ζητῆσαι ἐν τῇ Βάαλ μυῖαν θεὸν Ἀκκαρών; οὐχ οὕτως· ἡ κλίνη ἐφ᾽ ἧς ἀνέβης ἐκεῖ οὐ καταβήσῃ ἀπ᾽ αὐτῆς, ὅτι θανάτῳ ἀποθανῇ.וַיְדַבֵּ֨ר אֵלָ֜יו כֹּֽה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה יַ֜עַן אֲשֶׁר שָׁלַ֣חְתָּ מַלְאָכִים֮ לִדְרֹשׁ֮ בְּבַ֣עַל זְבוּב֮ אֱלֹהֵ֣י עֶקְרוֹן֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין אֱלֹהִים֙ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לִדְרֹ֖שׁ בִּדְבָר֑וֹ לָ֠כֵן הַמִּטָּ֞ה אֲשֶׁר עָלִ֥יתָ שָּׁ֛ם לֹֽא תֵרֵ֥ד מִמֶּ֖נָּה כִּֽי מ֥וֹת תָּמֽוּתet locutus est ei: Hæc dicit Dominus: Quia misisti nuntios ad consulendum Beelzebub deum Accaron, quasi non esset Deus in Israël a quo posses interrogare sermonem, ideo de lectulo super quem ascendisti, non descendes, sed morte morieris. He said to him, “The LORD says, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you will not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you will surely die.’”
So he died according to the word of the Lord which Elias spoke, and Joram his brother reigned in his stead, in the second year of Joram the son of Josaphat king of Juda: because he had no son. So he died according to the LORD’s word which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son.
